Woke up this morning crying and this is the first song that came to mind. I pray for anyone going through something this morning. I wanna send some positive vibes your way. God bless everyone
Yeah this Curtis mayfield sample of “ you’re so good to me” is hard. Chuck took the pitch up a couple of notches, put extra flavor on the original & Mary put her soul and swag all over it! She gave it that bounce that only she can do 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This songs speaks directly to my soul. I recommend anyone who is going through anything terrible, to listen to a Mary J Blige song, because you can feel what she is saying. She is so deep
Yo Yo - all I really want is to B happy - and that, in a better world to come, a woman like Cher would not feel obligated to autotune that song about time. O you have no idea how much better the world to come, I tell myself, as if I am talking to myself sometimes and no one is listening. It’s so sad, being alone.
Nobody and I mean NOBODY can fuck with or even comes close to comparing with Classic '90s MJB! The undisputed Queen! And why does this video only have 1.4 million views...*Sigh* the masses are hung up on garbage music of today, instead of instant excellent classics such as this..I give up.
Carla Linton. Coco M. You are absolutely right about that. Can nobody can't come close to comeparing with My Black Hip Hop Soul Sista Mary J Blige. Because she is The Undisputed Queen of Hip Hop Soul.
You can be proud of black people even if you aren't black. We are a pretty incredible group of people. I'm proud of the Irish when I learned what they went through, and the Jews when I saw what they went through. Nothing wrong with asserting your cultural pride and admiring it in others.
Colour is nothing. Just love and respect each other. People bringing Colour into the ecuasion adds to the problem. I'm irish from my mum and dad and they had to put up with shite. Move on and just love!
Tbf it already has.. You have new genres such as alternative r&b, soultronic, afro basement.. So well and truly R&B has cleverly been split into fresh genres we can embark on for the future but I do cherish my 90s r&b, new jack swing and neo soul because the sound gave authenticity and purity to this earth and music culture. Something to reminisce over. ♥️
This video started so many fashion trends in the 90s. Girls were wearing the blonde hair, dark shades, puffy jackets and the high tech boots. Not mention the NYC swag! She was just real deal. 25 years later she's still relevant in music. Amazing!
I just heard this song playing in a local store and i started singing it, and when i got to the checkout there was a woman in the queue singing also so we both sang it together and when she left the store she said thank you for singing that song with me..i said and thank you for singing with me also.. ❣❣
I was born in Colombia. Came to the U.S when I was 13. I am now 42. I was fortunate enough to be living in NY when this joint dropped. What an amazing time in my life.
Y'all out here bragging about Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Megan, Cardi etc y'all better not forget the REAL QUEEN that helped your azz to get out DRAMA. She continues to give us true rhythm & blues, we can hear her deep in our souls. We Love You Mary!!!!
This has always been one of my favorite songs since I first heard it as a kid. Mary J. Blige's music and voice connects emotionally in a way that is so authentic and real. No one else like her. A true talent.
You can tell when an artist really feels the lyrics that they sing or if its just someone trying to sell a song. You can hear the pain in her voice but you can also hear the power and conviction. Beyonce can sing all day long but she will never have this kind of power in her voice. The My Life album is one of the best hiphop albums EVER RELEASED.
Lol you got Beyonce fans triggered for speaking the truth. I agree. I have nothing against Beyonce but she's not a better singer than Mary J Blige. Lots of People call her the best singer but solely forget this woman ever existed.
When I was rocking to Mary in my 20s I did not understand the DEEPNESS OF THE FIRST VERSE OF HIS SONG. Mary, you saved a lot of young women's lives with your honesty and pain. I appreciate you! 💜🔥✨
Not just women But people in general Omg she's helped me so Mush and I'm going through so Mush right now And her lyrics and her powerful voice is helping me
Wait...how the hell she get on top of them rocks in the beginning of this video? Puffy dropped her ass from his helicopter, lol. They had so much star power and swag back then.
@@iammzjuicy5212 . It's her. She said they used a ladder to get her up there. They filmed it in Arizona. At what point she felt like they was trying to kill her.
This video the lyrics the soul the effort the honesty MARY J will always be a real one in my eyes forever 🖤 she never hides her pain because she knows we can relate 🙏🏾
This video changed my life! Since i was a little girl this has always been my favorite record by MARY . When i saw this video i mafe my mom take me to to the beauty supply store so I could replicate Mary's hairstyle and I later ended up becoming a celebrity hairstylist and recording artist. MJB is the epitome of a Capricorn. She is hands down a " G.O.A.T." for real. Itry my best to see her in concert everytime she tours. She doesn't even realize we cry with her and pray for her and love her as if we've known her personally. Hands down The Most High blessed this anointed woman who has an angelic covering. I will forever have MARY J. BLIGE as one of my favorites of all time. Be Happy is my favorite song by her ever in life! SHE IS EVERYTHING TO ME! Giving you your flowers. We love you MARY J. BLIGE! #mjb #maryjblige #thegoat #flawedperfection #therealest #capricorn #cappiton #cappigoat #humanangel #sheiseverything #behappy #jennicesomega #genesisomega
I came up listening to her and her soul, her story and experience is in every lyric and ad lib. She was, is and always will be one of my absolute favorite artists!

Carla Linton Mary 305 You are absolutely right My Black Hip Hop Soul Sista Mary J. Blige is The Queen of Hip Hop and Soul and I love her and this song too.
She was/is so fly. I was just a kid when _My Life_ came out. Hadn't experienced anything, but I was able to feel and connect with her. That's her gift. Feeling and connection. It's greater than her voice. This is always gon be my jam. Shoot, anything from this album is good.
Man if u was an artist and u was messin wit Diddy in the 90s, he was gonna 'shiny suit' yo ass! U cant escape it..he got Usher, Mase, Mary J., Total..He must like shiny shit . Anyway this is my fav song by Mary because thats all we all want at the end of the day, the beginning of the day and at the end of your life...2 B Happy
I fell in love when I first heard this song at 3 or 4 years old and I still feel the same way about it. I remember standing outside on a hot summer day and a grassy field and I stared at the sun this whole song 🎵 ☀️
You're all wrong...haha...The song heavily samples Curtis Mayfield's "You're So Good To Me". That is basically where the beat comes from. Puffy used a lot of samples on this album and then went and added little things here and there. So to answer your question, Puffy and Trackmasters produced this song and Puffy basically produced the whole album but used lots of samples. Regardless of that, *My Life* is the best album she's ever done.
There is something special about this particular Mary cut. It's sung on the real and you just feel it. Ooooooweee♥ Sang Mary! In a hookup culture, we miss the love. I wanna be happy, not empty.
