I'm a 46 yr old male and has recently been torn apart, which is an issue most men choose not to talk about. It's a hard fight to build yourself up after being brought to such lows but as this song resonates through my speakers every morning, I look in the mirror and say "Good Morning Good Brother" and constantly remind myself of my self worth, and to never love someone more than i love myself, to the point their needs are before mine. It's unfortunately that no one really resonated with the pain you spoke about. Especially the women here. I see you @E Stevens. You're not the only man alone in that fight. Just know that I'm proud that you're one of the soldiers to get up, dust yourself off and keep it moving. From one Good Brother to another, keep your head up. Remember this moving forward. Love is Sacrifice. If the person who claims that they love you isn't sacrificing for you, then they are just speaking about it and not being about it. At that point and time it is your job to teach them a lesson on losing a good thing in you by leaving. Be the water in their well that ran dry and BOUNCE.

my mom used to listen to mary j blige all the time. she passed away this january, and i remember her reaction when she first saw this music video. she was all like 'OHH DAMN SHE BAD" 'YOU GONNN GIRLL' she had so much humor and light omg. all music under this genre will forever remind me of my mom. i just turned 16 and was going through a hard time wishing she was there. cancer really doesnt just kill the person who has it.

I started putting GOD first in my life. Next, I started loving myself and stopped putting my spouse in God's place for (validation, worth, and inclusion). Trying to please people and changing who you are for them as a priority, is not pleasing to God. Love yourself enough to look in that mirror and see a child of God.
