April 11, 2024 showcased a spectacular display of power hitting when Mary Star High softball played against host Peninsula of Rolling Hills Estates. The Stars hit five home runs to claim a 9-0 lead before holding on for an eventual 9-6 victory over the Panthers, who scored all their runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Amaree Arellano crushed a pair of homers, while Mina Lei Tala, Trinity Martinez and Ruby Rico also went deep. Rico's game-opening home run (the first of the five in the game) came on just the second pitch of the afternoon!
