Dr Sahib, our genius government tries to copy the China model of suppression and oppression which they feel is the only way to pacify the people and get economic stability like China did. But these geniuses forget that Pakistan was created with the power of votes not through an armed struggle, democratic system has been accepted by the people and they have negated in the past every effort to undermine the democratic process. It is a debatable issue that elections were rigged and public mandates were dishonoured many a time as in the past and present a result we lost East Pakistan but this practice has not been strongly challenged and agitated by the people in toto to done away with, however on top of this negligence of the society not a single dictator has succeeded in the nefarious designs to convert the democratic system into an authoritarian regime to prolong their tenures . So all the acts and firewall being promulgated and installed respectively are going to be washed away because the present government days are numbered.

Dear Mueed, I am a big fan of you. You are one of the few journalists who analyze the news . I have lived in Saudi Arabia decades ago. The expatriates in general and working class lives very difficult life. They save every penny to send to their families in Pakistan. In few years they elevate the living of their loved ones in Pakistan but their own lives seldom get better. After losing their best years of life when the ever return, they realize that they don't have anything. Loved ones push them to go back so that they may earn more to keep up with the living standards their families enjoy.

Dr. Moeed, I have driven my car in US and Canada for more then 20 years, no one is scared of pedestrians, it is a healthy concern for human life that makes you careful of other people’s life. Yes, the laws are very strictly enforced everywhere as they should be all over the world. I myself become extremely careful when I see anyone walking or crossing the road. This horrible attitude of disrespect for human life only exists in our part of the world. If laws were strictly imposed in Pakistan too everyone would become careful.

Your talk about the Middle Eastern Pakistani labour force is very much true, they’re living a very hard life. We’re not against the rich elite; yes the corruption in higher society has ruined the lower to upper middle classes. No doubt developed states are the true reflection of the welfare state and we immigrants must respect their laws and values. We pray for the Pakistani govt to correct the situation and bring justice to the victims of PTI and other vulnerable communities. An interesting talk; we enjoyed it.

Dr. Moeed, I just wanted to add a few words too towards the remittance subject , that the biggest reason for the highest level of remittance is poverty and increasing inflation in Pakistan! We want to help our families and relatives back home to addd some relief to their lives and of course that’ll increase the ratio of remittance in Pakistan!
