VR already seems on the wrong track, perhaps totally useless. What if it's more productive to meet people in reality than over a signal process requiring tons of power, technology and cost?
That isn't true. A setup with a VR helmet could emulate a VR game. The host system's VR would just need to be as/more capable than the VR system it was emulating.
