I have been struggling with the Udemy Maschine class for about 6 weeks now, it is the worst ever. I learned more in the last 30 minutes watching this video than that entire 6 weeks...... I am not exaggerating! Seriously!
I just got my maschine mk3 and I must say a HUGE THANK YOU. I was lost until I watched your video. I appreciate the time you took to share what you know.
Please please please do more videos like this for beginners! You know how to teach and explain the why behind the buttons! Looking forward to your next video
Your videos are very easy to follow. With very clear instructions. Most instructors fly through the buttons and impossible to follow. This machine+ is a very complicated machine. Thanks
After having issues with my newly bought Maschine Plus, I was scouring RU-vid for the right tutorial for troubleshooting. but couldn't find one video that helped me. Then, I came across your video and ended up fixing the issue! Thank you for the informative and clear demonstration!
Stop the clock.! My good friend, it's been a looong 4 days, and I would not be writing this without your considerable help during that journey, but finally,bi am delighted to announce I have arrived in Maschine heaven.! Thank you.! It's like doors opening exponentially in front of your ears..kinda thing..! Four days lol...I mean I'm laughing now, but twas not always thus lol.. To others still out there in the wilderness, stay strong and keep going/downloading..! Thanks again.!
I have had the maschine MK3 for about 2 years got frustrated with the learning curve of it. I decided to try again last week as I know how powerful it is anyways your video has taught me so much already I haven't checked yet but I hope you do more videos on maschine cause you come across so well everything makes so much sense thank you, I am subscribing now! Big up
Same here, I almost sold my Mk3 again the other day, and I came back to Doug's tutorials, and WHAM! I'm already making patterns and scenes, I love it ! Big BIG UP to Doug
Thanks for making this. The great thing about this particular video is that it only covers a few key things but those things are very important. As a Komplete user I assumed that you load instruments so the understanding of the Groups in the Maschine library was a revelation. I also couldn't see where that Abbey Road group came from and then noticed in Native Access that the Maschine 2 Factory library doesn't automatically get added - or even show as "Available". Looking forward to firing up another of your videos.
Hey brother! Thank you so much for the great tutorial...I plunged into several NI instruments all at once...the MK88 has been invaluable toward my theory learning...but the Maschine was a fun mystery until I watched this vid! I made my first beat and it's just fine...i'll move on to the STEP video and continue :) Anyone else reading this thread...take notes on each video and use them as a rough guide! TY x 1000!
Thanks for the wonderful video - and normally I catagorize videos in my favorite folders by main subject and specific focus (sub folder) and in rare cases I put them in a folder called "GREAT TEACHERS" and that is where I the list of your videos: GREAT TEACHERS (main folder) - The Sound Test Room (subfolder). Thanks - and GREAT JOB!
Daaaamn u helped me so much with (6:58) pinning the pattern mode 😎😍 Very sympathic and good explainings in the whole video too. Greetings from zurich switzerland
Thank you, I do have some other tutorials and videos for Maschine MK3 with more to follow, just search The Sound Test Room Maschine MK3 and you will find them all
Thank you, I have done several more videos with Maschine MK3, just search The Sound Test Room Maschine MK3 on RU-vid and you will find them, I am also planning more 👍😊
Great intro! you covered quite a few bits that were very frustrating w/ zero knowledge right out of the gates -- like latch making Scene, Patter, etc stay visible. thx for that. I'm gonna watch the others.
I still need to refer to this often, thanks so much Doug! My iPad broke down last week, ( I’ve sent it in, it was under warranty, they should be returning it fixed any time now) but I consider this a blessing, as it’s Forced me to install and work with different DAWs on my desktop and laptop, and also mess around with stuff like the Mk3, which I’ve pretty much had on the back-burner most of the time!
Excellent work mate ! I am not English but I detected a slight accent from you. I have watched your video 5 times in a row and I think I've got it . Very exciting I appreciate your willingness to help us newbs. I will search for your next video after I mess around for a day or so As my third grade teacher used to call me sincerely Timewaster
Thanks, at the very end of the video, during the last 20 seconds, there are links that pop up, there is a link there to 36 more tutorials for the Maschine MK3😊
excellent teaching and learning..... I have had Maschine for a while now and used in recording, knowing I am only scratching the surface thinly. In lockdown here in Aotearoa, now is the time for learning deeper than the scratch.....and your style and content really helps me amidst all the stuff out there I have used to try and get to this space before. A huge thanks....keep up the good work!
What a fantastic video. Really simple and easy to follow. So much better than anything that manufacturer has produced or provided. Will be working my way through the rest of your Maschine videos in due course.
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart 💓 bought about a month ago and now psyching myself up for the steep learning curve. Thanks for doing this video 🤟
Thanks for making this! There's a lot of videos about the MK3 but most are only updates or comparisons between the 3 and 2 or the MPC/Push. Not too many cover the Maschine from the start.
Hi. Great video. How did you transfer the sounds into machine mk3, and get it to work stand alone without a computer? Anyone else I’ve spoken to says it doesn’t work in stand alone like the MPCX.
Interesting stuff Doug, I have been looking at the Maschine workflow just for another source of inspiration but most people approach it from a hip hop or trap perspective so really interested where you take it.
Thanks Doug …. I hadn’t even considered Maschine until earlier today and your video confirmed that it could be a good option for me. I was thinking about a NI S49 MKII but would really only use the keys to trigger Scaler 2. I am now thinking that I an do that with Maschine pads plus get the benefits of an audio interface and mic and line inputs. Have you tried to control anything on the ipad with Maschine? Thanks again for the video.
Amazing !!! Thank you sooo much. I feel way more confident now (started learning yesterday). I just have one problem : when i'm in the "mixer" section, each knob change the level of every instruments (like if I used the master level)... I cannot figure out why !!! Any idea ? Love from France.
Amazing tutorial! Very insightful for beginners and a good reminder for those who are more used to mk3. Just a little point! Does it say Induan Ocean on your map ? Lol It happens that I live kinda close to where it says Indian ocean lol
very nice video! thank you very much but just as a note, the video would have been so perfectly visually pleasing, if you had just put a blach or white sheet underneath your maschine.. that map on your desk ist distracting lol
Thx. You have anymore videos on recording. I cant record my full pattern, when i do like an 8 bar loop. It loops again, BEFORE my full pattern completes the 8 bar cycle i created. Any suggestions? Im just now thinking that i may have to adjust the tempo? 🤦♂️ HELP MEEEEE!!! Someone 😭😥🤪😁 No really, help me🙏
Hey bud. I know I said it in another comment, but is there any way you can either make a new playlist with your Maschine videos numbered and in order, starting with this one, or maybe upload it as a course to Udemy or somewhere as I’d be willing to pay for it if you do so it that way. I get more out of your videos than a Maschine course I’ve already paid for! I’ve had it for ages but just never got into it, but tutorials of yours have really got it to actually start working! I want to start delving deeper, but I really need them to be numbered in order so I can follow along step by step. These little 20 min videos are easily the best Maschine tutorials I’ve found on RU-vid. Please let me know if you can do that. & as I mentioned, I’d be willing to pay if you wanted to do it as Udemy course of something, & if not, then just a few of these numbered and in order. Really looking forward to getting down to some nice beats with your help! Cheers x
OK how did you know bottom row third pad was the hi hat. I dont see where any of the pad drums are labeled on your screens. It would be hard to play the pads not knowing what each pad is assigned to.
Great demo,so much so that I'd be interested in this as a stand alone production recorder, mixer etc, can you please tell me if you can record electric guitars and vocals directly onto this machine and if so what are the quality of the onboard effects for the guitars and vocals? Thank you.
Older guy here(73) trying to get into maschine, Although I have a maschine studio on software 2.14 I am finding your tutorials quite easy to follow but using a bit of common sense when buttons etc don't match and stopping the tutorial to locate where they are on my particular maschine. I have had no such luck when trying to follow American tutorials who seem to assume you are a Hip Hop head. Anyways Just letting you know that I am enjoying your work and will be following the whole series so as to get a good grounding in maschine. P.S. I'm looking for an MPC live beginners tutorial as well, any recommendations?
If you were to call up a bass instrument (like the Scarbee Rickenbacker, for instance), can you assign the bass notes to those pads? I guess what I'm really asking is if you can "play" bass with Maschine the same way you are playing the Abbey Road kit here. Thank you for a great tutorial.
