I’m a mascot for DeSales high school, and let me say... it’s awesome! Some of the things in their are extremely true to life, such as the heat... I was in our mascot costume (it’s a Colt), and it was 95* degrees outside. In October. It was the best thing ever, and all of the staff there said I was a trooper. I’ve done it twice already, and I have had almost no experience. And somehow I succeeded, but the first time I got very bad heat exhaustion. From Louisville Kentucky it’s about 4 hours because it’s in Whiting Indiana.
That is really cool! I have nothing but high respect for mascot & character performers. They go through a lot and have to put up with some abuse, but they also have tons of fans who love them. I'm friends with a few pro sports mascots and they're really awesome people who really love their jobs.
Even if ur joking that would be so successful like for real u should paten that asap lol when ppl can't watch there favorite sports teams play they can root for there mascot to win on off seasons ppl would eat it up that idea is a gold mine

As a former mascot from my highschool and I must say the greatest one. Thats not me talking , I still get reconized 30 years later. I have to say this place is awaeome and its on my bucket list to visit

Google whiting Indiana alot to do especially in the summer neighboring Hammond, Indiana has festival of the lakes July 17-21 2019 , whiting pierogi fest the following weekend , golf at lost Marsh, numerous outdoor concerts, whiting lakefront with WHIHALA BEACH right next to mascot Hall of Fame horseshoe casino and tons more for everyone

When I was a kid I loved the Pittsburgh Pirate mascot the Pirate Parrot. He was a hilarious guy. He got fired for selling cocaine to the players. His last name was Koch (pronounced COKE) lmfao. What a legend
I never knew such place existed. And TBH, not only it's a museum dedicated to teaching theory about different mascots but the awesome part I see about it is you get to experience what its like to wear a fursuit or a mascot costume. And a chance to perform as one. I'm a fursuiter, I know what its like wearing one. But, to those that don't, I would recommendd this place for you to visit. And also, why isn't the Toronto raptor there yet?
Was there any mention of Whistlin' Ray? He was the volunteer mascot at Dallas Cowboy home games for many years. Although he didn't wear a typical costume (just a blue and white cowboy outfit) he was well known for entertaining the fans and certainly deserves a place in the hall of fame.
For some reason, sports mascots terrify me. Animatronic animal bands? Sure! Haunted houses? Heck yeah! (Been working in them for eight years now!) But if I so much as see Sylvester the cat at Six Flags, I’m speed walking in the opposite direction. Nooooope. I don’t know why.

To anybody wondering about the San Diego chicken I found the answer. The chicken is a charter inductee but its creator, Ted Giannoulas, is not a fan of the hof and doesn't want anything to do with it. The hall laments this issue. Slate magazine's website has an article on the attraction, coincidentally published 1 day after this video.
