I've seen this type of thing with some of the men at my work. The ones that drank heavily and also were the types that needed coffee before they did anything would fight like women all the time and always the ones to complain and whine about something. I myself am generally very calm and rational, as are a few of the other leaders. At least in my life, what you say checks out

Well, I would never call myself a sigma (or beta, or alpha) male, because I don't need those labels to feel confident in or at home with my masculine identity. That said, I don't completely disagree, but I do have a few counterpoints: - Alcohol is a social lubricant because it relieves anxiety. If you don't suffer from any social anxiety whatsoever, great for you, but that's not a reality for most, and it's not typically something one can think their way out of. - I wouldn't say that a busy day is stressful for a lack of control, on the contrary, that constant need to be in control is what's exhausting. Alcohol allows me to let go of that need a little bit, which is why it's relaxing. If you don't want to use alcohol you could find other ways to let go of control, but expecting anyone to be in full control of everything in their lives 24/7 just sounds unsustainable and unhealthy, and honestly unrealistic given the financial instability so many people face these days. - Alcoholic bewerages also just taste really good, that's honestly the most typical reason for me to enjoy some. But maybe you're against enjoyment in general (which is valid, FWIW, but in that case it's odd to target alcohol specifically). - Finally, and most importantly, saying that a desire or tendency to "be controlled" is "feminine behavior" and that "looking for ways to improve our own lives" is "masculine" is, quite bluntly, chauvinistic. Maybe you don't mean to imply that this makes women less capable of taking responsibility or whatever, but I think that is at least a possible interpretation of your message here (as you didn't provide any caveats) and as such it is problematic.
Good points. Like you stated loss of control is not masculine. Loss of control tends to be exposed through emotion rather than intellect hence when we see women being emotional we associate that with femininity. Do you think an emotional statement is also feminine?

Hang on a sec..you can say that about absolutely anything. Ooooooo chocolate..ooooooo cake..ooooooo sweets..ooooooo coca cola..ooooooo video games..ya can drink without getting drunk..people who say they don't drink always have the wrong mindset about it. Sometimes it's not about getting drunk..its just about having a nice flavoursome drink. People who say they don't drink think people who do absolutely crave it, not the case one bit. All guys have things they do to unwind..doesnt make them unmasculine.
@@NickShellVideos yeah I spent years not eating chocolate and cake and my cravings did stop after a short while and I felt great..the only thing was after about five years of refusing to eat birthday cake and have a chocolate bar with the family on a Saturday night. I actually felt a bit bad and a bit of a stick in the mud for not participating. I was that obsessed with not eating it that I actually became a bit controlled by the not doing it. And I would see people who didn't care when they ate a chocolate as masculine as whenever I ate a bit of chocolate I would beat myself up about it for days.
