He played a saxophone rendition of "Naked" for his middle school teacher and Tank wrote the song... That is one of the best full circle stories/moments I've heard. The things that motivate us all!!
My daughters tried to play me Fetty’s version of Yams and I angrily turned it off 😭 It’s Masego & Devin’s version or nothing. Great interview, love his energy! 🩵
i think they drove the challenge tho... because it showcased the whoooolllleeeeeee realm of talents and literally highlighted how intergenerational covers can LOSE the historical aspect, and we gotta remind them [and be reminded as well] about greatness being replicated over ... history repeats itself and if you don't know , then how can u know its history. lol
I'm a fan of Alex Isley an I've been a fan of Xavier Omar's since he was in the group MovementOfTruth with L9 an Elhae when they were doing CHH an he went by SPZRKT (SpazzyRocket).
The story of the creation of Tadow always makes me smile at the timing and synchronicity of life. Masego is fully deserving of all the flowers he's receiving as it's not common to be a multi-instrumentalist who is also truly likeable. He blended well with J and Tank's sense of humor and I could listen to them talk all day. Per usual, shout out to all the folks BTS who make these episodes happen! ❤🖤
Am I the only one that find myself smiling real big when I get this notification? I've been listening to Masego for a several years now and even has Masego Radio on Pandora.
The way Masego was trying not to laugh at all the foolishness flying out of Tank’s mouth 😂😂😂😂😂. I LAUGHED so much watching this. It’s a 3-way tie between this episode and the PJ Morton and Jamie Foxx episodes for the funniest show. Loved the knowledge dropped about a few of my favorite things: health, food and Brazilian culture. Masego is truly a force of nature. ❤❤❤
I discovered him through Tadow and was instantly hooked. I'm a 53 year old woman and found that soung sexy and soulful and very reminiscent of the classics.
The whole trap-jazz phenomenon hits. His style is so fresh and unique. Especially in an age where musicianship is going away. Can't wait to see how his music evolves.
This has to be the best music podcast (at least not focused on European music). Every episode I learn about producers, writers, composers and the music industry that I was ignorant about. Kudos to Tank and J Valentine
I love the constant grind Masego had/has to place hisself where he needed/needs to be. Musicianship is not lost. Glad he’s finally getting the exposure and shine he deserves. I find it suspicious he hasn’t had more accolades 😌. Another dope interview 🫶🏾💸
My first introduction to Masego is when I heard his Saxophone on Ari Lennox “Up Late” When I saw him play that instrument in the video, 🥰 I had to double back a few times, the approach of the saxophone was so sexy, vibrant, masculine, & commanded attention. Love this guy, & his humility in his music. Also, my home girl braid his hair🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Great episode guys! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
1:10:30 J Valentine calling Tank out 🤣🤣🤣 "no you don't!" These two are great, I love this podcast. Shoutout to Masego, Yamz is a whole vibe among others
Lesson learnt cant be watching this podcast while at work with ear pods cause the laughter is real 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾#R&BMoneyPodcast, y’all kep giving. There’s levels to this ish!❤❤❤
As a personal trainer this is one of the best shows because he really talked about the truth about health and Wellness of black people and we catch the fads instead of growing our own vegetables drinking water doing the natural things on a continual basis thank you guys for this
One of my most favorite episodes that will make me go get all his music. Just a wholesome lovely young man. The knowledge just keeps flowing and I'm still here for it!! Thank you guys!!
25 minutes in and i haven't stopped laughing... J Valentine's pandemic dj comment... "y'all stuck in the house huh... I'm playing the nastiest ish i can find." 😂😂😂😂
🫡 Salute to R&B Money Podcast for ALWAYS bringing GREAT and Knowledge brought interviews!!!!!! Masego is a REAL one💯 Tank and J....y'all are the TRUTH❤ You def got a weekly die hard here🫂
Masego is very self aware of what his sound is, because as soon as I got put onto his music, I was like oooh I see what this dude is. His music is the diaspora. Jazz, hip hop, reggae, R&B, woven together seamlessly. This dude don't miss!
Masego. I love ❤him. Like literally love his vibe, love his energy, love how he speaks, his physique, his voice tone… I love ❤what he brought during this interview. I love this authentic words and what his goals were and his. He is so beautiful and you can tell his character is built on greatness. I laughed and listened the whole interview. I need to hear his sax version of Naked. I love how excited he got when he found out from J that Tank wrote that song and I love that J never skips a moment to be enlightened and to enlighten and educate. This interview was GREAT
First of all, shout out to the love cup, because this episode was no doubt, a pouring out of love. Seeing black men get together and enjoy each other, always makes me so happy. Secondly, Masego was a hidden treasure, and now he is being pulled out into the open and i like it. I know they loved him when he was AT college longboarding and playing the sax. He's such a natural story teller and very charismatic. Something about those earthy, free spirit guys make us so curious. And last but not least, y'all's little anecdotes and church references have me weak E V E R Y time. From the Yamborghini, to being paid in chicken to "Lava belongs with lava". Man. Tank is a comedic genius. 😂 I love this show so much. Peace, Love, and Light to you all! 🤎
Tank&J. Valentines thank you for giving us this podcast 🤣🤣🤣🔥🔥❤️we needed it without even knowing masego is a jam for real oh i enjoyed this episodes, laughed till the end.
This was so good. I remember the first time hearing/seeing Girls Dont Dance. My head snapped. Been listening and enjoying Masego’s journey since then. Queen Tings has gone triple platinum in my house
22:20 “you were Andre 3000 is what you’re saying” I love that 😂 Also reminds me of that cartoon Class of 3000, where Andre played a music teacher! So cool 😌 I’m sure ppl loved hearing him play while he skated around campus!
What. A. Damn. Minute. I didn't even know how much I needed this interview. Freaking awesome. This is one of my top 🎶 5 🎶 interviews from the Pod tooooppp 5 🎶 fiivvvvve.... whew! This is podcast GOLD. R n B Money!!!!!!! 👏🏾 👏🏾 🎉🎉
I knew when Sego removed his glasses this was gonna be a great time. Great vibes and energy from both sides..J Valentine stay funny with his one liners..🤣
This interview was sooooo good. Loved the question. Loved that J.Valentine did his research and is a fan. Most importantly love that Masego was given the recognition and flowers as an R&B artist instead of an Alternative artist 💐💐💐💐💐
Been following Masego since 2017. Went to his concert last year and can’t wait to go to another one!!! He is going to go down as one of music greats! Such a talented individual and also HILARIOUS !!😂
Omg I love masego and the fact that he described my country and my culture in such a good way just makes me like him even more. I think he should do an album incorporating some music from brazil in it some samba and bossa nova. That would be dope, another 🔥 episode from the R&B money podcast 😍😍😍
You were happy when he said enslaved Africans came to Brazil in 1960, totally discounting the history that began in the 1500's? You must be a pure Portuguese person because my African ancestors and orixá didn't like that.
@@DL279 He must have got confused when he said that, if not he still just learning at least he is interest in black history outside of america which is commendable and about orixas and etc don't mix religion into this please this has nothing to do with it
