Kudo's to you Ron!!! What an excellent comparison/review video. Other than being a foot longer; I wasn't sure what the differences between the two vehicles were, but now I am. Because of your thorough comparison, I found a used Quattroporte that I now realize was a bargain compared to a Ghibli. They were the same year, same specs with very close mileage at the same price. I see a lot of the Ghibli in the new Kia Cadenza ....Not as sporty of course, but the shape of the grill and especially the rear. Only emulate the best! Great detail, thanks!
Interior: Quadroporte is definitely better. I kind of don't like the central console of the Ghibli, and that's the reason I didn't get one. As of Exterior: I prefer the Ghibli outside design.
Overall, I like the interior of your car better. I much prefer the red leather on top of the dash. If I were given the choice of either car, I would buy yours hands down.
Quattroporte without a doubt. Much more elegance and exclusivity. Front grill is awesome and rear end is much more aggressive. Nothing but compliments driving this car.
*+Rons Rides quatroporte, because its v8, that's why the 5 series should always be bought with v8, like I think you had 535 u were saying befeore but I'm not sure, to appreciate big cars you need v12, but now they make v8 with power of v12 from the 2000's*
Not all Quatroporte's are v8's, Only the quatroporte GTS. This is just the S with the V6 404hp motor. Yeah I used to have the 535i but if I could take the GTS I would love it but that price is out of my range for sure!
I know what you are sayin about v8s. My 2012 xf has a 5.0 in it as the entry level motor. But 2013 or later models went down to i4's and v6s. And i love my v8.. :)
Great analysis. but you are right the Quattro takes the curvaceous back over the G. I love your ghibli especially with all that additional black moulding and black roof and side mirrors black side skirt and front facia that give it a slicker sportier and meaner look! I personally like the Quattro because it looks more expensive because it is. lol. it is also longer and maybe wider which in my opinion gives it a sophisticated stance especially the in the Quattro gts. Had a question for you. how is the maintainance and reliability on your ghibli? thanks again.
Thanks for the love on the car. I've only had a few issues with the Ghibli S and nothing has come out of pocket as far as expenses goes because of my warranty. I just 15k miles as well. The new Ghibli's seem to be a little more reliable because Masi has learned from mistakes made on the older model. So far I've paid for 1 yr maintenance which was around $350 and new tires, mounted, balanced and alignment for $1,600.
Quattroporte is much better and more elegant and for those who are talking about speed and stuff forget it at the end it a Maserati and it’s very powerful and sounds amazing, I know what I’m saying I own a Maserati quattroporte. And btw it reaches to a top speed of 350kmh...

The 3 models are so similar they should just call them small medium and large. Then next to that a warning that says they lose their value faster then any vehicle known to man (although land rover is close)
I like the Maserati quattroporte grand lusso executive SQ4 consult 2019 very conservative elegancy fit for a king as long as it comes fully loaded it has more legroom in the back. The consult in the back has the ability to push the seat in front as well In the back. up & down as well as the same thing with the front . It Gives the passengers in the back to feel more comfortable handling the control button.
Rons Rides my dad has a 2017 s q4 and it has the red interior, sport pedals, paddle shifters, and maxed out options of censors etc but he also has the black wheels and red calipers
legroom in the back of the ghibli is pretty limited for a car of this size (almost 5 meters? so i'd probably go 4 the quattroporte. Come to think of it...does the ghibli have more space in the rear than the gran turismo? they are pretty similar in length...
Hmmmm... I gotta say, I like the exterior elements of that QP a bit more. I believe the front fascia, to me, looks more "traditional Maserati." However, unless a guy options for the TT-V8 that the QP offers, its gotta be the shorter, nimbler Ghibli, for me! Especially since, for only gaining a few stylizing elements and 6" extra for them buds with big-kickers, $20-$30k extra... just ain't cuttin' it for me. Take the $20k & upgrade it. Or... you could scrap the whole deal, buy a SICK Mustang or Tesla and smoke fools in Maseratis!
I sill think the quatroporte is a bit better looking . The ghibli defo would look better without black rims and without black wing mirrors still nice though. Most importantly how do you find maserati for reliability
hi Ron I would like to see the Ghibli on the quadrupport they put on a new platform to carry it into into the future well down the road I think they should be sitting on new platforms each of them and keep both cars alive for well into the future they're both fantastic but it is time for a new ground up the versions and taking all kinds of new variations into the future we should also have hybrid versions and all electric versions to give people freedom of choice but all new platforms from the ground up should be more than considered and would push Maserati into the future we still need sports sedans not everybody can use a supercar because they have families and you can't fit any more than one extra person and a supercar but the supercars are perfect for what they are for racing and sporting but we should have new sports sedans on new platforms going into the future as well as SUVs
Hi Ron seeing the video on the geeply and clock deportes and I would take both I'm getting ready to be able to afford these and I know that requires special maintenance but it's still worth it in every aspect and I know that Maseratis going to be changing the platforms up on the Quattro forte and the Ghibli and from what I understand they're going to be higher strength the bodies are going to be all new as well as many power trains I heard of several V8 from 4.5 l up to over 5 l and upper midsize blocks from 350 cubic inches through 400 cubic inches so we're going to see some really strong cars as well as hybrids and all electrics giving us all a choice so come on Maserati and keep the giveaway platform way past 2024 and let's move into a excellent future with also new platform quattroportes and other surprising sports sedans and SUVs and I would also like to see Maserati get into the sport pickup truck line with a five passenger or six passenger crew cab but everything high performance and I know if anybody can do it the Europeans can
I have a 2017 Maserati quatroporrte s q4 gran sport and let me tell you its very disappointing, I had a ghibli '14 and it feels more faster and I had loaners in the past and they felt much faster then the quatroporrte and it's much louder then the quatroporrte it honestly sucks and I want a ghibli again
Lay Swag ghibli in 2014 was super loud (i heard in 2015 it got slightly quieter) and ghiblis have always been a little more nimble than a qp..so your opinions make sense
Lay Swag I have a Quattroporte and it’s more luxury feel than speed. It’s longer, wider and heavier and they’ve shifted from speed a little bit past few years.
I have the Ghibli, but to be honest Quatroporte sounds better than Ghibli, sounds like a desert mouse...., so great car but sh1t name... Money no issue i'd have gone with the Quatroporte, less of them and angry looking...
I would also like to see Maserati Ferrari and Alfa Romeo venture into the sport truck and of things and pickup trucks because I know they would be gorgeous and beautiful and extremely well-built and they could even build them here in the US and Canada which would put a lot of people to work you know that that would be a great thing too so they would have more vehicles into our market sport pickup trucks and heavy duty trucks styled and designed and built by these Euro companies would sell like ice water on a hot day but we do need sports sedans more of them from Ferrari Lamborghini Alfa Romeo and Maserati all new platforms that are super tough built super long-lasting and with more V8 V10 and v12 engines to go up against beamer and Mercedes competition is great and I know that Maserati Ferrari and Alfa Romeo would really fill that whole segment with beautiful vehicles so I'm for sports sedans sport pickup trucks SUVs and heavy duty half-ton through 4-ton pickup trucks built by these wonderful European companies because the designs and the usability would be phenomenal so let's promote each of these companies to do that
Ghibli drives nicer (feels a lot faster even tho both are 275bhp) quatroporte is more spacious/luxurious. Has nothing to do with money, only preference
