काठमाडौं उपत्यकामा कम्तिमा पनि ५०० वर्षदेखि थरी थरीका नाचहरु चल्दै आइरहेका छन् । ती नाचहरुमा मुख्यतयाः भैरव र अजिमाकाे नृत्य हुन्छ जसमा ब्रम्हायणी इन्द्रायणी गणेश, इन्द्रायणी, नारायणी, रुद्रायणी कौमारी बाराही सिंगिनी ब्याङगिनी आदि १३ देवदेवीहरुहरुकाे मुकुण्डाे र भेषभुषा सहित नर्तकहरु सम्मिलित हुन्छन् ।
याे पचली भैरवकाे नाच हाे । यसकाे प्रदर्शन १२ वर्षमा एक पल्ट करिब ६ महिनासम्म विभिन्न ठाउँमा भइरहन्छ । एक नाच प्रदर्शन दुइ दिनसम्म चल्छ र तान्त्रिक पूजा सहित परम्परागत बाजागाजाका तालमा नचाइन्छ ।
याे नाच सहितकाे जात्रा मनाउन गुठिको व्यवस्था भएकाे हुन्छ । यसमा माली वा मालाकारहरुकाे प्रमुख भूमिका हुन्छ ।
Different types of mask dances have been going on in the Kathmandu Valley for at least 500 years. These dances mainly include: Bhairav and Ajima dances, in which the other dancers also play roles of deities Brahmayani, Indrayani, Ganesha, Narayani, Rudrayani, Koumari Barahi, Singini, Bangini etc.
This is the dance of Pachli Bhairav. Its performance is held once in 12 years for about 6 months in different places. One dance performance lasts for two days and is performed in the rhythm of traditional instruments along with tantric worship.
Guthi arrangements are made to celebrate this festival with dance. Mali or Malakar families of the Newar community play a major role in this.
