i’m getting a lot of ppl ask where i got the materials from to make it so here’s a list :) - faux fur: amazon - felt: hobby lobby /any craft store - cat mask: amazon - elastic: walmart i think? - mesh: micheals / craft store - feathers: hobby lobby tell me if i missed anything!!
Commenting on this so that when someone likes it I will get reminded to watch it when I’m making my next mask ❤ (edit) guys I ran out of mask 😭 so I can’t do any more for now :(
TIP FOR CUTTING FUR: only cut the backing of the fur. So make it so the fur is facing the ground and only cut the felt/ whatever material the fur is connected to. This makes it so the fur looks normal and less chopy. Hope this helps!❤
THAT MASK IS BEAUTIFULLLL but remember, anyone can be AMAZING at making masks, or anything, really, with practice & patience. You will make mistakes, but then learn from them and improve your work each time!
TIPS FOR MASK MAKING ! I recently made my mask so hope this helps! When you add a muzzle , sometimes it’s a bit to heavy and the elastic that’s holding the mask on when you do quads slips the mask of your face, instead add another bit of elastic on top to create like a bucket/ helmet shape it will keep it on stronger and you can do quads in it ! ^^ Your parents/siblings or family members not support therians? Tell them you would like to create a silly little mask for fun ! But your making it realistic, my sibling know what therians are and see me doing quads and they hate me for it, but my mum thinks I’m wearing a little mask for fun. Felting is really hard seeing any mistakes or wrinkles are fine ! As long as you’re proud of the mask then that’s okay !! Hot glue ! If your looking to make your mask more wolf/dog like do a long muzzle and extend the ears that way it has more of a wolf shape or dog shape to it !! For fox therians or arctic fox ones ( even fennec foxes ) do a long short muzzle with big long ears to give that foxy effect ! Need mesh? But your looking at lots and most of them are to expensive / you don’t know the reviews I suggest finding some on Etsy as people sell ones for fursuits/therian masks Fur is really hard to get, get the felt you used for the mask in the colour you painted it and brush it out with a hard brush or a hair brush it will become fluffy and you can add it to the sides of your mask !! Live in the uk ? Can’t find a mask ? Hobby craft has the masks for £2 ! And each big size big of felt is 50p each ! They should be all in a line and in a section in stores !! I suggest using fabric or acrylic paints ! ^^ Get non stick baking paper and hot glue a nose shape once it dries peel it off and paint it ! And then hot glue it on it looks very realistic and cute!! I hope this helped sorry I’m bad at explaining things ! Enjoy your mask making :D
I made my first Non-Cat felt mask just few days ago! I don’t have any mesh, so I improvised and used some old tights that I don’t fit into anymore. It look really good and I’m really proud of it! ((It’s a White Tailed Deer!)) ((IM NOT A THERIAN! I JUST LIKE MAKING GEAR!))
@@MylovelybuBUTMYSEL Hey, I don't mean any hate, but did you choose to be a therian...? From the way I read it sounded like you were saying you chose to be a therian and your theriotype (coyote) I could be wrong tho. I wanna let you know that you cannot become a therian, because it is not a choice and you are either born a therian or it's something that developed over time. You can become an otherlink though, someone who identifies as an animal by choice. Or you could be an otherpaw, someone who practices quadrobics and wears gear but doesn't identify as an animal!
Don’t forget: If your eye mesh is white before you paint it, the side that faces you when you wear it has to be painted dark, otherwise you’ll strain your eyes and it’ll be a bit harder to see! :]
I honestly think that you should try to say where you got materials such as fur, felt, eye mesh, ect just so that people can get a clear view of where to get it! Just a little suggestion that I would probably do when I do a mask tut
Another good thing to do is to draw a rough sketch of the designs! This especially helps if you're just painting a mask for fun(and it's your oc for example)!
Tip! watercoloring fur/fuzzy fabrics in general will make it less crusty than painting it with acrylic paint! However, the coloring may be a little fainter and toned down. I really only recommend this trick with white fur!
