Mason, the brainchild of Marcus Mason (Ma-zone), is set to make a significant impact on the rock music scene with the release of their debut album, "I Can't Wait." Scheduled for a worldwide release on October 28, 2024, through Lions Pride Music, this album promises to deliver a powerful blend of AOR pop rock that harkens back to the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s, while showcasing Marcus's unique artistic vision and musical prowess.
Marcus is not only the visionary behind Mason but also the primary creator of its music. He arranges and writes all the songs on the album, playing bass, rhythm guitar, and delivering lead and backing vocals. "I’ve always wanted to write songs that you can sing along to. Those are always the most memorable and interesting for me. In the end, my choruses in all my songs reflect that motivation," says Marcus, emphasizing his commitment to creating engaging and memorable music.
To bring "I Can't Wait" to life, Marcus has assembled an exceptional lineup of musicians. The core band features Jimmy Katone (Katone, Hit The Ground Runnin’) on drums, Peter Penhallow (Eye, Joseph Court, Bobby Barth, Vince Welnick) on keys, and Josef “Peppi” Gebhard (4-Sale) on guitars. The album also boasts contributions from renowned guest musicians such as Paul Piccari and Steve Cocchi (Hit The Ground Runnin’), Bella Perron (Plush), Jon Willoughby (Neill) (Bombay, Rio, Starseedz), John McAfee (The Affair, Big Game, Whitehead & Mac), Markus Pfeffer (Barnabas Sky, Atlantis Drive, Lazerus Dream, Mystery Moon), Sergey Cohen, and Steve Negus, the legendary drummer of Saga, GNP Project, and Negus, who are responsible for the final mixing and mastering of the project.
