Would be cool to have an option for games on sale only, which would filter out everything that is already free, and leave the games that are currently made free for a limited time
I actually do this, I run this like twice a year. I make a dynamic collection of unplayed game and sort it by steam review. It help me find some hidden gem that are usually missed.
why do u do this twice a year tho? if u do this once doesnt it activate all the games that exist in steam already? do you have to renew the activation everynow and then? or do u do it to get the new games?
@@cryfoe2885 I do it twice just to collect the new game and free soundtrack, so i run it now, I have all the free game/ost up today date, later I might run it in December and pick up the rest. I just hope valve can give more customization as in filtering by language and adult content in our library. And a filter to create dynamic collection by steam review so i can remove the negative and mixed title easier
@@cryfoe2885 Yes it does take a week to get them all the first time since it only add 50 game a hour(Steam limit), but it not a big deal since it just run in the background in a web browser so it doesn't stop you from using steam or anything else. as for particular game, it add all, so you can't choose. they can also be easily remove also, just make a dynamic collection and set it to unplayed game, then shift click everything and remove.
ya im one of those who was doing this daily you can get some pretty nice soundtracks out of it, and in steam you can sort by Soundtracks instead of games Its a good way to discover music
for the people who are wondering why some dlcs won't activate, its because of 2 reasons : 1 : the DLC is unavailable to reach on Steam DB because of a policy change or other things... 2 : the DLC have been set to paid mode. for example "Just Cause™ 3 DLC: Air, Land & Sea Expansion Pass" can't be activated in my library because it's not a free DLC. I hope I helped someone ! and thx for the video
Quick question from someone who doesn’t understand anything about computers… Wouldn’t it be possible if you downloaded an older steam build? Also if I downloaded a certain older build during a time when a delisted demo (or full game) was available, could I use steamdb to get said demo or game? Thanks
@@superbroche Geez, thanks for the ridiculously fast reply! I wasn’t even sure I’d get one considering this was almost a year ago. I have seen older steam versions in the archives site, and I’m supposed to see a friend this week who is very knowledgeable about this type of stuff, so if I find out anything I’ll let you know (but I’m not very optimistic about it)
Thanks so much for this video, was a lot of help to activate all the Free DLC packs for my games rather than having to do them all manually and it launch the game every time (Ugh!)
@@benjamincardenas1636 no this is just to activate free games (mostly which you won't even know the name of) to show up in your library. It looks cool i guess that you have so many games in your library.
i think what we needed from this list is a genre selection so that ppl can avoid single player games or even prn games if they wanted to. because practically thats the best value of playing original games. you get to get a multiplayer experience as well.
That isnt a unpopular opinion. Who the hell has thousands of games. Sure I have a lot (~450), but nowhere near thousands. Before you ask, yes I actually have played most of them!
@@saltyjordy I mean, to me having a thousand games is fine, BUT. only if they were built up over time and bought with money you've spent on them because they're games you wanted. not games that you're just downloading because you're bored. but tbh, i do agree with both of you guys. i could never just have something lingering in my library just to have it there. and it takes up space.
i believe the main appeal from this is getting the limited time paid games for free activated, but with no way to filter that out it makes this somewhat useless unless you're one to flex your 10,000 garbage free games. thankfully for large game collections you can hide games you don't care about or even remove them from your library entirely pretty easily with shift clicking to select them.
@@nevenlabaleine7465 Not as far as I know, all the products that are activated are available on steam for free anyway. The script is just activating them automatically and quickly instead of you having to do it manually.
This is a blessing, thank you so much my man, I'm an achievement hunter so this makes finding games I don't have to pay for, much easier to find! Much love!!
you can sort your library to activity, i have that on by default. all the games i never touched (downloaded or played) will go all the way down to 'no recorded activity' (pretty sure its the clock thingie in your library where you can click on games. you can just search a name of a game you want
@@axzul7350 you have to seperately buy every free game and add it in library if a tool can add 50 games each hour you just have to click it once a day and bam free games lol I mean how lazy can one person be even after getting soo much of free stuff I am just really surprised how lazy people are lol
Do you need to leave your pc for 2 weeks straight with this activated in the background or is it like if you do 3 hours today and close this and do it again tomorrow for 2 hours it’ll continue, leaving out the completed games and starting from the remaining ones
@@Dark_Brandon_2024 What I can remember : Defiance , Grimm and i'm sure there is many more. no idea if it's a bug or no. but I got the cards and they added +1 to my library
@@rubiconteam2650, Grimm was recently removed by publisher from Steam because of their problems. This happened on June 17. Now it's only possible to make badges for the profile and turn the backgrounds and smiles into gems. Good luck finding someone who accepts these cards (there are practically no such traders (or their bots) because of the overabundance).
I did this and got FIfa 23 for free some how even tho it wasnt on sale. It might of been cause I had 2k 23 or SIms 4 idk how that makes sense but it does to me all I care about is that i got a free game. Love the video!!!
Thanks for the clarification that you can't get Steam cards from games acquired with this method, because honestly i probably would have given it a shot for that. I will say though that I do wish there were even more filters on that site. I'd love to download just single player games, for example.
"Limited Steam accounts can not sign in to SteamDB. Your Steam profile must be set up, and have spent 5$ on Steam." Why tho, if everything is technically free? this is BS
Did this way back in the day, and never recovered my steam library, 1,347 games strong and still going. Just have to add every new game to a different category
I have 2 questions: 1. for example, is it possible to play Rust with others who have bought legally Rust? 2. When updates will apear, Will be able to update the games?
Great video, you save me the time to activate around 90 dlcs. Will not get the free ones tho, i have enought with the stupid amount of shit that i usually buy and never play to have more :P
So even if the demo is removed you can still download it if you add it on your steam account? Interesting, that's great as I like playing some of them, including ones with achievements lol. I wonder though, is it possible to add removed free games to your steam account? I was able to do that before with steamdb, but that doesn't seem to work anymore...?
For some reason Steam doesn't let you add more then 30 or so games per hour, so this will take 2-3 weeks of keeping the computer on nonstop with the browser open. I have kept it on for 5 days like that and I've only got about 3800 games added. To get all 17000 or so games will take forever... I guess Steam got wind of this stuff.
@@owogamingchannel850 You didn't get hacked by this website stop lying. SteamDB has been around since Steam has been around, and not once has someone been hacked from them. You are probably just reckless and sign in your Steam account other places expecting free items.
Do gou need to do this on pc or it also works if you go the site and do the whole process on a phone/tablet? If it does work, you could run it by using an old or cheap device and spare the pc the load of running 24/7
A lot, too many to count. My favorite free game (before I ended up buying it) was Final Fantasy XIV trial. An amazingly long trial, with some restrictions though.
bruh i have too many games, due to life cant even play them, and when i have free time i just dont feel like it, help, i lost my gamer spark from my soul
Stupid question ,even if this is free games ? is this full legit ? because I only have 1 steam ACC its mine private one, and I have over 2k purchased game. Over like 15 years I gave thone of money, I don't want to do this and loose my steam ACC is someday valve finds out for this ? Thx
It does not show this on my screen for some reason.... The whole console part is blocked from my view by either the browser or the site. Also it is showing different games for me. I was trying to see how many are here now but it isn't letting me see anything. Says blocked by client but Idk why it is blocked?...
