So, the question was, who has the best Voice? In the end, the fan favorite won. Sawyer Fredericks, the long-haired 16-year-old never seen without his hat, was crowned the winner of "The Voice" on Tuesday night.
So lovely as a person, so very very likeable, so down to earth, please DON'T CHANGE Sawyer, you are PERFECT as you are, don't let all that fake Hollywood stuff change you!!!! Don't let the false plastic world change you!!!! That world there is full of plastic stars, plastic girls etc like the fake Kardashians etc, you are a very earthy person and that makes you very very attractive to others!!!! We love your voice you are a superstar, and you have a very normal gorgeous personality to match!!!! You are not cosmetic in any way, there is no falseness about you which is so so likeable!!! Please come and visit us in Australia as soon as you can, and I am so looking forward to listening to your work with Pharrell!!! He is awesome, he believed in you, and he knew straight away you were the best talent, he just knew, he got it RIGHT!!!!!!!!! You are a rare talent, born with a beautiful gift, your VOICE!!!!!!
Sawyer says he is 'hoping' to work with Pharrell, so there was no clear plans made from Pharrell with SF for post-show agenda?? SF has stated in several interviews that he (and I assume his Mom) are not clear what is next besides hoping to TOUR and hoping to make a CD with Pharrell. I'm a little surprised TheVoice and Coaches don't have a clear plan on how this works (other than making profits from the TV show -- I guess really that is their game plan). I know SF's fans will support anything he does. Good Luck!
TJTAMPA2000 He's said in one interview that he hopes/plans to record his album in NYC rather than LA, so I think they have to work out logistics on who will produce, since Pharrell is based in LA. UMC/Republic has studio space in NY, but he might actually be able to negotiate which actual studio he works in. Pharrell can work on the mixing from LA, even if he's not in the recording session. Ray Lamontagne recorded his last album at his home in western MA, just a couple of hours from Sawyer's home, and Jeff Tweedy's record label is also based in western MA, so there are lots of options they have to explore. The profits now are for the record label (Universal's parent, Vivendi, used to own NBC, so it's a cousin of Universal Music Group, though Comcast (which just tried to buy TimeWarner cable too) just bought out the Universal interest in NBC in 2013). UMG has lots of record labels besides Republic, so Sawyer's actual label won't necessarily limit who does the recording work. They can't give specifics yet because there are lots of companies involved, lots of contracts to execute, lots of travel to plan, lots of studios for recording, mixing and editing to choose from (not just in the US), and lots of producers who'd like to work with Sawyer. The biggest issue prior winners have had is that the label won't put $$$ into marketing him after the album is finished and about to be released, and not letting him do so without their approval.
satexguy1 Yes and I would add I hope Sawyer will carefully choose both his professional and financial management when the immediate feeding frenzy dies down. I know The Voice means certain contractual obligations are already in place, but as a minor, his financial interests have to be carefully secured.
ClueSign The original Voice winner recording contract (from the Voice of Holland) provided that the label gets 50% of everything (maybe even new sales of his old CD), and a 20% management fee from winner's half, picking the winner's manager for him. I think they deleted the management fee, but Sawyer will still have to pay 20% to a manager (unless of course it's his mom or dad, who would have to learn the biz/contacts as they go). Javier Colon is still bitter, and felt like he was handcuffed and unable to control/promote anything due to the contract. He couldn't take a gig without the label's OK, and they had him do gigs that helped the label's visibility, not his career.
satexguy1 I would imagine all of that sounded okay to the family, in comparison to the open mics and street fairs where he had been playing previously. Being a minor, Sawyers parents had to sign off on everything.
These questions are so uncomfortable and fake. Sawyer makes fake people uncomfortable because he's so down to earth and genuinely nice and interested in others.
