Honestly, they just needed to remove the filler crap. The companion quests were all pretty good, and the main story was good. It was all the side shit that was do 5 of X, then get 5 of X etc. They need to focus on the 30-40 hour story

On what improvement could it had? So much, so damn much more than the anticipated, people needed more Mass Effect, and the devs decision was a bit spot on, different worlds, different techs, different story, but it wasn't enough. We wanted more, so much more, the game, the mechanics was really good, the visuals, the sounds, but they changed what wasn't supposed to be changed as well, OPTIONS that changes the WORLD, I think that was the main problem. And hence they didn't add more to that, or worked longer on it.

I can enjoy the trailer, and I just started playing the game proper. I got it cuz I'm curious how ME4 might integrate it so I wanted to try it out. Since I have no expectations for the game, I think it has a chance of being a surprisingly decent time.

Started playing not so long ago, having 40h+ and I dont get why the game got this hate...i like it the same as ME2 and ME3, I always try to extend the game before finishing it as I enjoy it a lot. Maybe due to issues it had at the beginning people doesnt give it a chance, but too bad for them, its equally good as the trilogy

I played it at release and while everyone was bashing it i was like ''are we playing the same game?'' sure it has flaws and bugs but it was not that bad as people made it out to be. I think people were salty coz shepard wasnt in it.

Underneath all the bugs, the dodgy animations and amateur writing, there is an excellent game. Six more months of polish and bug fixes and BM would have had a winner. Easily 8/10.

Nah.... the problem is definitely EA listening to DICE and forcing teams to use Frostbite when Frostbite wasn't nearly as good an engine as UE4 - the same UE4 which EA cleared for Respawn to use to develop APEX LEGENDS.

@@CGIPadawan Frostbite is good for FPS games like Battlefield but it dont mean it's prefect for every game type and it's horrible for RPG games. I reckon the reason for focing Frostbite isn't a DICE decision but upper management if you use a inhouse engine you dont pay license fees like you would if they wanted to use UE4 or Source for example.

@@SeizureGman There was this executive from DICE who I heard was the one bigging up Frostbite to EA and they tried to set up this support structure for other devs etc. But you are right about Frostbite being ill made for RPG's. Devs like Bioware were forced to make their own forks of Frostbite but because DICE never integrated them to trunk a dev always started from zero whenever Frostbite changed versions which affected ME: Andromeda and DA: Inquisition. But Respawn got a pass and Frostbite wasn't forced on them ever.

Mass Effect 2/3 modded on PC looks much better. The females do not all look male for one...ME 1 is showing it's age but at least the story is not SJW brainwashing. With MEUITM the characters look as good.

Anthem made me appreciate what Andromeda is more honestly. Andromeda atleast has potential that ended up wasted. Anthem didn't even have that, especially with Bioware going dark.

If the Quarians in a DLC, it better be a damn epic DLC, the Prothean DLC was an insult to fans of the franchise.

The insult was that a major part of the story, a race we'd been hearing about from the start of the franchise, was thrown into a money grab DLC.

Eh...but he wasn't really all that essential to the story and to be honest any decent fan of the series is buying that DLC. Of course they're going to make it a day 1 DLC. The people who put the money up for this game aren't doing it because they're fans FFS.

sure you can customize your character, but in the trilogy the original shepard looked just fine. He had a face you could remember. Personally, I never customized him because it just felt like a 'wrong' Shepard if I did. This guy here has nothing like that, he looks like a regular footsoldier, no defining features at all. So I will have to customize, but even then there will never be the 'one true' face like it was with shepard.

Male Ryder does look unique and rememberable. To be honest he looks fine, even with that childish facial hair he has.

@@brimstonesulfur5013 i completed Andromeda on 100% and there is nothing on energy plot, the lore wise thing is not a good thing its something they had to make, game is filled with boring fetch quests (go somewhere, kett arive, kill ket, go back), the choices you make through game mean nothing, they change nothing. About the characters, crew members are ok i guess but nothing compared to my family on the Normandy, non crew member characters they all feel like talking to Avina VI in ME1. Combat is great tho

I really liked Andromeda too. And yeah, I'm kinda glad Andromeda isn't just going to be completely ignored, but I'm more excited for the next game as a continuation of the trilogy. I hope the next ME game gets some sort of web integration like Dragon Age Keep so that we can have more of our decisions come back in the course of the game.

Problem was being forced onto Frostbite when it didn't have the animation capabilities a Mass Effect game needed; that they were able to deliver anything at all was frankly a miracle, let alone that it was actually still really good, despite its flaws.

To be fair he has a point. The game wasn't patched for performance issues, stability or balance in the gameplay at first, but it was patched for animations.

Word on the street is the remaster of the original trilogy is real. Make sense to me, Bioware been taking to many L's this generation, and they need to save face. However I did really like this game while understanding the criticism it received.

Besides the tremendous amount of bugs & graphical problems the game had, the game suffered from what I call “The Ezio Effect”, named after Ezio Auditore from the Assassin’s Creed series. Basically, it the fandom being so in love with a certain protagonist(s) so when they get replaced, the new protagonist has a major uphill battle for acceptance. That being said, I loved Andromeda. It could’ve been better but I feel like the story was a good jumping off point for a new adventure. For me, the biggest disappointment was when BioWare announced there was going to be no further single player updates. What makes that ironically sad is before reading that, I received my replica of The Tempest in the mail. I hope we get a sequel that builds off the loose threads of the first game.

@attackmaster555 Andromeda 2 opens up like mass effect 2's normandy attack scene you choose either male or female ryder to play then you control the one you selected story would be that the opposite gender was the pathfinder in the first game they die in this suprise attack but your character survives nobody knows what happend the initiative blames the angara but not openly at first and the outlaws / exiles tensions rise war looms while you work in the background to find your siblings killer and possibly stop the coming conflict boom better story then anthem

I am also someone who would really love to see more of this story. Having heard now about what was going on behind the scenes, I'm actually really impressed that the team managed to make the game as good as it was, given the deadlines, corporate meddling, newness, and under-resourcing they were contending with.

I hear people always saying that ME3 was bad. The only thing I hated about it was the last level on earth and all its corridor shooting + the endings. Hands down ... it really feels like your decisions really didn't matter in the end. But that are like 5% of the game. the other 95% was awesome and I enjoyed every minute. And Andromeda? I played it a week after it was released and because I went in full blind, I also didn't know anything about the shitstorm. It reminded me a lot of ME 1, which is still my favourite game of the trilogy. The story also was really awesome. I am so sad that people hated it so much that they canceled the "Quarian Arc"-DLC ... They needed the working power for "Anthem" anyways ... But we all know how good that game was xD

As for ME3, I seem to remember my initial impression was that the gameplay was solid. In fact probably the best to date at that time. I played through it relatively quickly after it's launch and I do remember being annoyed by the rather lackluster ending. They did adjust it after the fact if I'm not mistaken. It seemed a bit more expanded then what I remember. Also, while I have read that some people really enjoyed the multiplayer, I kind of found it off-putting that I had to play it to get the full war ready status. I also played it before a lot of the DLC was released that I never came back for and I've found myself really enjoying that.

@@alexv6324 ME3 was also done 3 days after its release. I reloaded my savegame ones the "Final Cut" DLC was out. But I didn't touch it afterwards. I will get the new version someday on sale. But the ending really killed it for me. And if I play it again I will also play Andromeda again.

The music sucks, while the "only human" lyric can be used to talk about the game the music style is completely unfit for this game and belongs on home slice skillet fry type games.

The music fits in with this game wholeheartedly. The only reason you think it sucks is because you and a vocal minority of you morons are for some reason convinced that ME:A is a gritty, dark space game. This game isn't about a dark and hostile section of uncharted space. This game is about uncharted space being expansive and fully of wonders-- and the leader(s) of the Pathfinders are only humans that can't win against everything. The song fits perfectly.

Yes Ryders are 22-23 (plus 600+ if you add cryosleep) and Shepard is 29-30 or 29-32 depending on how you regard age. So Ryder is several years younger, without formal N7 credit, and without war experience, but probably with some more intelligence and curiosity.

Absolutely agree, it's a fun Game. Maybe not a 10 but also not a 3 like the majority think. For me it was a Solid 8 i had a little bit over 100 hours and was very entertained 😁

They already screwed up the first one, ME1 had a strong impact despite having lots of weakness that later made ME2 god among FPS/RPG genres with understanding actions have consequences, but Andromeda had none what ME1 had to build from, Andromeda is best kept as stand alone franchise, with a very weak world building than ME1. If Andromeda graphics and actions had ME1 story, imagine how much greater it would have been.
