Mass Effect 2 - Telling the Council to Shove It 

Harbinger: Shepard will destroy us all! Reaper Counsel: Ah yes. "Shepard". A charismatic human who will allegedly unite the galaxy against us. I thought we had dismissed this claim.

Asari councilor: We heard you are working with Cerberus. Shepard: Ah yes, 'Cerberus'. A secret prohuman terrorist group allegedly threatening Citadel Space. I have dismissed that claim.

"If your actions become a threat to council space, we will take action!" Shame the Council weren't so passionate about taking action when a rogue Spectre threatened to wipe them all out with an army of Geth and a Reaper as his warship.

Why bother having Spectre's if you're not going to believe what they say? The whole point of the Spectre's is maintaining galactic peace. Then when they find something that threatens that galactic peace, they ignore it? Nope.

Council's reaction after Shepard saved their asses is the best reason to don't save them in ME 1 :D

I was just about to decide their fate in ME1. I had let them die in my previous playthrough, so I was thinking about letting them live, but after watching this, no. I'll just alt + tab and tell Joker to stand-by. I hate that turian. Council dies and the new council will be full human, end of discussion.

The council is stupid They believed Soverign was a Geth ship. They also believed that Saren convinced the Geth that Soverign was a Reaper. That means they believed that Saren convinced the Geth that the ship they built was a Reaper.

Shepard: Ah yes, 'Spectres:' the respected arm of the Council, supposed to uphold the security of the Galaxy against any and all threats. Oh we have dismissed that claim...bitch.

AH YES, REAPERS. If it wasn’t for Garrus (and obviously the story), I would’ve left you to fend off the Reapers on Palaven on your own councillor.

So you can save a group of three blind, suborn morons who nearly allowed the Reapers to live, have them thank you for the sacrifice humanity made, then two years later have them still refuse to believe you, and threaten to take action on you for insulting them(Not that they ever would, right?), then only then acknowledge the Reapers exist when they arrive, and never once apologize for not listening to you or admitting you were right, and also still doing jack shit to help. Or... you can do what the Council says and do whatever it takes to keep galactic peace, and focus on the main threat rather then saving their dumbasses, allowing them to die. Then you find your replacements don't even want to meet with you, for whatever reason... and then... once you do meet them... you find the Turian replacement isn't that bad of a guy... the Salarian replacement... feels about the same... and the Asari replacement is just as awful as the last, if not worst. It's no wonder Shepard, or anyone for that matter, ever has nice things to say about The Council.

How I wish I could tell the Council to shove it. Alas, I am too nice of a person to do so. Even if they didn’t believe me about my warnings of the Reapers and practically dismissed all my claims, I think keeping the peace is the better solution. It’s bad enough they think of you as a traitor given that you are working with Cerberus, so I found it best to not add more fuel to the fire.

i saved the council just so i can see the Turian councilor beg for help when the reapers come and then HOPEFULLY bioware will have an option to say: ahh yes "reapers.." and let him be minced meat.

If you never played the first ME, the game just assumes you let the council die. I am completely okay with this.

That's why I never felt sorry for letting the Council die

See I could have had this conversation with the council on my first playthrough...but there was the small issue of them being Spaghetti Bolognese during the battle of the citadel in the first game. I'll mention also that that decision did not even register to me and is always satisfying to watch.

in one of the surveillance vids in the DLC lair of the shadow broker, the asari councilor has a relationship or something with khalisah bin sinan al jilani. really funny and shocking to see XD

This is why even as a hardcore paragon Shepard, I always leave the council to die without any remorse.

Such a satisfying option. The Council is such a pain in the ass. Like what did they expect Shepard to say: "Thank you for the 10+ bonus points in combat." Like what. Screw these political snakes. They never helped out or listened to Shepard. It's always just about them and their selfish interests. Udina fits in well with them knowing what a scoundrel he is. Sure Shepard's got an ego too but it's nowhere near to the delusions the Council has.

Actually he died in Mass Effect 3 and gets replaced by a Turian general, the primearch.

This is why you DON'T save the council in ME1.

Council politics are the exact reason I enjoyed working for Cerberus that much more.

The thing I didn't like about the decision at the end of 1, was it didn't matter whether you killed the council or not, in number 3 the council still included a turian, asari and salarian

Anderson doesnt judge Shepard at all. Thats my favorite part. These are all things he's probably wanted to say to the council and Udina but cant because of his position.

Preach it, brother-- and on another note, was I the only one who cried foul at BioWare NOT giving the player a chance to do the "Ah yes, 'Reapers' " bit (complete with air quotes) *back* at the turian Councilor? Maybe they thought it would be in bad taste, what with his homeworld actually getting ass-raped by the Reapers by ME3 (a point at which even HE would finally have to admit the truth...though it would be kinda funny if he still denied the Reapers' existence, even AS that was happening).

For years I've maintained a paragon approach but man as I got older and dealt corporate bs, telling the council to fuck off felt so good. And Udina freaking out made me laugh so much lol.

Don't worry. Captain Anderson will gather the 3rd street saints to stop the reapers once and for all.

I wasn't sure about my decision before watching the video, it was worse for the council to survive.

Despite choices having effects, it seems the outcome is the same whether I save the council or not or who ever I choose as councillor.

He realized what a goddamned fool he was cause he didnt listen to Shepard when he had the warning... and With Palaven Burning from the Reapers, and he could have done something-anything to beef up the defenses there, breaking the treaty and building more dreadnaughts, he did nothing, he sat on his hands and laughed at Shepard... He wished he had of listened...For a Turian... he eats crow rather well...

The Mass Effect Trilogy is literally just Shepard bailing out an incompetent council. I've only gone through it once but I let the council die for ignoring my warnings and the replacements are honestly just as ignorant.

Would have been better if Shepard can just roar "BRING IT THE FUCK ON!!!" when glide out while flipping them off.
