I think it's because of their attitudes. Nearly every other race in the setting seems to think like fairly ordinary humans, but the krogan think much like the player character. They treat things like firefights and brawls as amusement like we as players do, and have a tendency to start thinking "creatively" in normally dangerous situations by doing things like body slamming shuttles and smashing through walls just to see the faces on the people behind them. Combined with Bioware's ability to flesh out normally flat species tropes, you get a very satisfying mix of badassery and pleasantness (within the context of the games).
hes no Wrex, but damn does he have a personality about him... but im still hoping for the one time i talk to him and he says "Ryder" that when i close the conversation i just say "Drack".
I like the relationship with drack and ryder better than the one with shepard and wrex even though I prefer wrex. the scene with drack and ryder fighting those thugs in kadara was a highlight for me.
Drak under normal circumstances: "let me be! I'm too old and jaded to care about your little insignifacnts lifes, just let me enjoy my life evening in peace!" Drak at the inevitable precipice of death: "OH GOD NO IM TOO YOUNG TO DIE"
Peebee: You still owe me for the equipment you broke Drack. Drack: Shouldn't of left it lying around and besides your good at fixing things aren't you? Peebee: you tripped over it and landed on it crushed it flat? Probably didn't get this conversation 100% correct but I found it funny.
Vetra Nyx and Nakmor Drack: Lara Croft and Terminator T-1000 out of all the Pathfinder Team, which in case you all wondering, due to them being old friends and colleagues and totally badass.
@@Overlord99762 a bad thing for the krogan with a good pair is that 1 quad goes for 10000 credits...n I'm sure there are those that try to make credits in any way possible.
Apparently, Ryder is even worse of a driver, than Shepard, though still far better, than Angaran drivers (since Jall will flat-out fall asleep during the rides and even say, that those are very smooth rides. When he asks to "fix" the Nomad and make the suspension more bumpy, everyone else instantly vetoes this decision).
Funny thing, in my first playthrough I didn't know about this interation, and when I jumped off the cliff I shouted SHIIIIIIIIT along with Drack. I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH ACTION/COMEDY IS THE BEST
I think I'm definitely right that we all can agree, Drack is the Terminator T-100 of Tuchunka, 1,400 years old, seen some stuff and kicked butt, survived and also is a quintessential Krogan and then some, Wrex was cool and Grunt was cooler and fun, but Drack is da man! Oh, so never saying that again.
Every Mass Effect sequel has lost more and more of its original essence, alien characters have become more and more humanised like a tv sitcom... Look back at the presence of the characters in Mass Effect 1 the aliens that you meet on the citadel, it actually almost felt like venturing into another reality.
@@Rosenberg1990 He's right you know. THE ALENS ARE NOT STRANGE ANYMORE BECAUSE WE HAD 3 FUCKING GAMES TO KNOW THEM. Does he even know that his own complain destroys itself???
Drack has the best answer for your sentence. If you took Jaal and Drack into a planet where you can use Nomad. Jaal asks a question about Milky Way and Drack says "Humans calls it Milky Way, us Krogans have another term for it." This sentence explains why all characters feels like human. Because you are experiencing the game from human side.
sometimes i wonder why some npc's don't just give up when they a see a Krogan charging at them or shoulder charge a wall like a battering ram, be like fuck this shit im out
@@kevinpeters6709 yea but if you see a 7ft tall 150-360kg behemoth covered in armour and biotic shielding what makes you think shooting at him is a good idea
Yeah Andromeda especially had highlighted that Krogan's aren't all just bounty hunters and glory-chasing war machines. They are also scientists, engineers, artists. Just like *gasp* any other race.
Drack does not even come close. He is not even Krogan anymore. He might be in some scenes. But for the most part, he simply talks way too much for a fucking Krogan, and fights/wants to fight too less. Like all krogans in this fucking desaster of a game. Awful game. Awful Characters. Awful BORING dialogues and overall teen drama Story. And I see so many retards still defending it even though they know this is an incredible joke of a game and a story. Even worse than the logical issues in the trilogy itself . This game is just destroyed by BioWares SJW Team who fought for their own shit by creating this retarded piece of a game.
Also this gay voiced female krogans appear way too much. Simply destroys the whole history of Krogans and the whole understanding of this race. Tbh. This is a game a continue of mass efffect which destroyed my whole god damn experience I had with the trilogy, or at least tried to destryo because it destroyed everything you learned about the races and the whole environement.
I actually used Cora with Drack alot. Her cryo ammo gave so many openings for tech explosions and her shield boost on top of his blood rage makes that motherfucker an unkillable beast. Seriously, we wrecked those outlaws on his loyalty mission.
They're all good in their own way (except maybe Liam the tosspot), but they pale in comparison to the dynamic alien duo (old grandaddy Krogan and the not-really-a-mother Vetra).
@@eduardo7677 yeah the writers went way too far with the humor there. It didnt fit right. they made him come across as just a fuckup who's just there making more mistakes. his whole buildup to the loyalty was mistake upon mistake, heck everyone on the squad hates him or he hates them aside from cora. the only time he showed competence at all was the movie night.
Mass Effect Andromeda gets so much hate, which is warranted only because of its awful state of launch. It was a glichty unplayable mess, but the core cast of characters was great. Drack, Jaal and Vetra were tge standouts. I’m 12 hours in now after completing the Original Trilogy for the first time with legendary edition on PS5 and I gotta say Drack is a character that I always pick in my squad. When there’s a Krogan on my squad you bet your ass i’m gonna have them on ground team every time. Also Jaal, Ryder and Drack is my go to contellation. Mostly because their banter and dynamic reminds me of Garrus, Wrex and Shepard the orginal ME1 squad for me. In my headcannon Wrex, Garrus and Shepard were best friends and blood brothers. A turian, a krogan and a Human: the most unlikely trio, yet the best of friends and I always thought that was pretty neat.
Drack is love, Drack is life! On a more serious note, I wish they'd make him bigger than Ryder. There are even some scenes where he does look bigger but the rest of the times he looks smaller...
@@marcoboscarol2420 actually no it's a problem of me series even in me 2 happens with grunt first cutscene but for the rest well in grunt recruit mission every krogan looked at your chest
Drack's no Urdnot Wrex, but he's that one grandad you DON'T wanna come across in a your grandparent's retirement home... Not that Krogan have any. Closest thing to they get to a "retirement home" is the Tuchanka wastes.
...drack was using an avenger rifle... before the patch... now he's using a krogan shotgun... and honestly.. thats the best patch EA has ever done for ANdromeda.
i thought it was the pioneer at first but it doesnt have the rounded stock like the pioneer does. thats weird though cause its literally in almost all the cutscenes as the default weapon ryder or his teammates or the enemie is using
Animation was the only problem, but I love helmets, and the mercenary helmet is beautifull, so my Ryder's face don't usually shows up, and since I play on PC I can meddle with resolutions to improve the animation a bit, plus a well made Ryder can look good on many not so good scenes
