Mass Effect (Legendary Edition) for PC Video Review 

I just replayed through the trilogy and had a blast, but here I am for the review.

The feeling of playing this game for the first time on the 360...ill never forget it. Such a good story and unheard of music.

One of my favorite series of all time!

The early exposition dumps are exactly what ground you in the universe so quickly, it feels like you have literally stepped into Shepards shoes. This is incredibly important when ‘guiding’ a character rather than roleplaying as them. You aren’t quite in control, Shepard is. You just decide how *SHEPARD* acts. This is shown in the masterful dialogue wheel where it isn’t supposed to match what you want to say. It’s tonal, and is the best example of the dialogue wheel in any game imo.

What A New Hope was to cinema is what Mass Effect was to gaming.

Even that opening note with Udina speaking is enough to make me want to play again 🙌🏼

In the middle of replaying this myself, almost done the 2nd game. What I wouldn't give to replay this blind again, knew nothing and glad I didn't.

I have played og ME. For me, it's 10/10. Mako is perfect, you can do crazy things. I chose to play all the abilities of the team myself, with pause, and battles were awesome and strategic. Hard difficulty. Story is epic and character interaction can be super funny. Shop and inventory could be better. Entertainment at it's best.

Played through the trilogy via the Legendary Edition for the first time a year or so back. These are easily some of my favorite RPGs (and games in general) of all time now. Story, characters, choices and consequences that carry throughout, worldbuilding, soundtrack, art design, aesthetics, etc. Top tier.

Legendary Edition was my first expirience with Mass Effect series. I always look at the original title as foundation for the whole universe and story and it’s good but not as great as 2 or 3

For me, the best game of all time. The story, the characters, the gameplay, the space, the atmosphere...no game beats it. You can talk for hours about the races, their conflicts, the reapers, companions, everything, it's all so well written! The first conversation with Sovereign or when i met with Leviathans, something that i never forget.

replayed the remaster..... Loved it

Congratulations for finally being able to get through the series! I played it last year and it was pretty good. My fav in terms of story and lore would be ME1 as itfelt the most complete with a scifi yet somewhat grounded world with a good villain as well. It was basically a complete story and if ME2, 3 didn't exist then it'd be fine as well

I made the mistake of playing through (purchased) on my Xbox, twice. Then Steam went and gave it to me for like a nickel…. So I played number 1 two times to hit max level before starting 2….. best game ever.

The Legendary Edition can be often found on sale and is worth every penny. My only gripe is having to jump through hoops, like having to use that dreadful EA launcher for the Steam release. 💢 Wish more of the old Bioware games got the remaster treatment. ✅

this game is a master class in world building

I think i put over 1000 hours over the Mass Effect trilogy on the 360, PS3, and the Legendary Edition via on the PS4. ME1 on the legendary edition heavily benefits from it.

I rented this from Blockbuster like a month after it came out, played it for like 2 days and never got around to finishing it. I think I'll wait until it's 20 years old to actually finish it, though 😅

I had a great time playing through the Legendary Edition on Insanity. I will say, if you’re an Achievement Hunter, the EA Play launcher can be bugged as hell. I would recommend rolling back to the Origin Launcher. I was super proud to have done this, except my Insanity 3 achievement didn’t pop after the conclusion of the trilogy, and it’s left a bad taste in my mouth. After assuring through save data readers I did it, then trying almost everything, I had to manually trigger it…something I would never do. TLDR: roll back EA Play to Origin so your Achievements all pop properly.

Just played through the trilogy for the first time about a month ago. Somehow we've been playing the exact same games cuz I started MGS2 right when you started your MGS videos as well LOL

I played through all 3 of them near their releases, never had any real desire to replay them but I do think they are good games.

I love the Mass Effect games but there were some things I never liked and the Legendary edition made one of those areas better in 1 but left it the same in 2 making it make even less sense to me. Using an Assault Rifle is modern infantry and special forces 101. It doesn't matter what specialization Shepard focused on they should be trained with an Assault Rifle. And IMO an elite of the elite special forces operative like Shep should be at least decent with any common weapon type. In Legendary 1 this is true unlike original 1 but both versions of 2 limit Shepard to only using weapons their class specializes in, and a choice to unlock one additional weapon type during the game. My least favorite part of both versions of all three games is never being allowed to control Normandy in battle.

They removed the most fun part of this game: the multiplayer. Besides, I guess it's still locked at 60 fps, like the original one.
