Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy the video. If you are new here, my channel mostly consists of railroad videography from around the Northeastern USA. Please note that all content that I post is mine and should not be used without my consent. If you are interested in more content from me, my photography can be viewed on Instagram at: / rail_spike_productions
About this video: This is a compilations of various trains that I believe give the best summary of what train-spotting in Massachusetts is like. As I am trackside for MBTA trains more than all others, I have featured a large variety of unusual and investing trains that I have found throughout the last few years as well. Videos from pre-2020 are not featured in this compilation due to my older videos being stored on a different device than the one that I edited this compilation on - I hope to get more of my older clips from the past decade posted in the future when I have more time available for editing. The locations around Massachusetts featured in this video are listed in the order that they appear below.

I’m surprised you were able to find that many MBTA trains that weren’t derailed, on fire or otherwise broken down.

That’s mostly the subway. The commuter rail has it (mostly) better.

My goodness... i have a personal relationship with the MBTA commuter rail! Before My aunt worked for a coach company i used the commuter rail from Lowell to North station to go to boston! Brings back amazing memories going to Lowell stopping at the tiny dunkins at the station being super excited to go spend a day in my fav city while the workhorse of the commuter rail the F40PH is pulling me and my mom to Boston! you absotuly deserve my sub! (Sorry for the bad English I have dyslexia so... go easy on me)

Cool footage & interesting consists. Also, I ended up seeing the Geo! I’m gonna miss 1647 but my shot of it was a W (Caught it at wilmington racing the Downeaster w/ a really cool hornshow)

That’s good to hear - I was out of town that day so I just chased it like there was no tomorrow on the south side 😂 It was a great crew running it up North for sure. The north side work extra crew consists of some great folks

@@rail_spike_productions Must’ve been weird seeing 1647 south, huh?

A bit odd for sure, but it’s not the first geometry train I’ve chased with a 1600 on the South side. However, it most likely was the last

Great video but would have been nice if you put Bridgewater in the video.

Thank you and if I make another compilation I am sure Bridgewater will make it in. I’ve got plenty of videos from there, I suppose none just happened to make it into this particular video

what happened with the shots around 20:10 with the HSP consist stopped on the middle track?
@rail_spike_productions
@rail_spike_productions Месяц назад
There was a broken down train blocking the main line there a little before that. Dispatch was letting the traffic build up get through and the faster Amtraks got priority over the commuters

What was the AMTRAK train (35 seconds in) with the MOW consists on the rear end? Any info on that?
@rail_spike_productions
@rail_spike_productions 2 месяца назад
That was an Amtrak equipment move from Portland, ME to Boston, MA. The equipment on the rear was borrowed from the MBTA, which Amtrak was returning to them in Boston

That locomotive blew a turbocharger - the black substance is oil. It was being rescued by a separate locomotive at the time that video was taken
