DJ, I just love the way you do deck tech's. The style of just throwing out all the ideas you have and walking us through the brainstorming process brings a positivity that's really enjoyable.

Massacre Girl and Massacre Wurm are about to be very close friends.

I like this deck tech because it goes into the idea of having a board sweep on a commander and how opponents may play differently rather than just building a deck.

Thumbs up 4 the video DJ, love ur content! I've been tinkering around with Massacre Girl a little bit myself after she's been spoiled. I simply love her assassin flavor; for that reason, I would add Dauthi Embrace, Whispersilk Cloak, Umezawa's Jitte, Quietus Spike, Kusari-Gama, Vial of Poison and Universal Solvent to my list. One could also add a -1/-1 counter subtheme. Think of all the possibilities for synergy: Trigon of Corruption Blowfly Infestation Nest of Scarabs Grasping Dunes Dusk Urchins Midnight Banshee Incremental Blight Black Sun's Zenith Banewhip Punisher Fume Spitter/Festering Mummy... The list goes on! Btw, Dark Prophecy for massive card advantage. War of the Spark is awesome. So many possible commanders, so little time... =)

If you put in panharmonicon it triggers twice so the second part of the ability makes it "whenever a creature dies this turn all creatures other than MG get - 2/-2 untill end of turn. This also works with conjurers closet

As soon as they revealed Massacre Girl, I felt like it had a big potential for a very unique EDH deck. Thanks a lot for your take on her, it'll be a big help for when I get on my own brew!

You should totally do a "Feather, the redeamed" Edh deck teck. Where you are abusing the artifact called " Sun forged" And using spells that have a draw ability stepped on them. I Want a feather and niv-mizzet reborn deck tech

Great deck tech, DJ! MG is one of the 3-4 top cards on my wishlist for Spark, and possibly the first mono-black commander I've ever considered. I noticed you keep talking about "going up the chain". But the wording on MG is "whenever a creature dies". So if 3 1/1s die at the same time--like from her ETB--that's going to put 3 death triggers on the stack and everything gets -3/-3. If she kills 10 1/1s, it's -10/-10. So I don't think you don't need 2/2s and 3/3s, etc., just lots of creatures on the board. I think Hangarback Walker and ways to sac and recur it might be good options, besides the great things you mentioned--Patron, Revel, Black Market, etc.--and possibly self-reanimators. Thanks for the great show, DJ. Really got me thinking.

Grave Betrayal - the creatures come back BEFORE her trigger

You were SO close to bringing up this really cool interaction, but.... the creatures don't have to die as a chain reaction. Her text box says that whenever a creature dies this turn, every other creature gets -1/-1. So, you can use something like Tragic Slip after her ETB effect resolves to give a creature -13/-13 and then start the reaction over again. I think some spot removal will really help her out if you run into a situation where there's a gap in the ladder.

My monoblack board wipe commander is Shauka, Endbringer. The deck is a little slow at the start, but her exile ability is brutal

what about Splendid Agony (Distribute two -1/-1 counters among one or two target creatures) that seems good in this deck too

My first thought when I saw her was Reassembling Skeleton type creatures, Heartless Summoning, and Cloudstone Curio.

Have you thought about Infernal Genesis for this deck? I just put a trial version of Massacre Girl together and if I like her, that seems like one of the first cards I'd want.

Glad I clicked into this, I thought the death trigger was only for Massacre Girl, not for all creatures. Looks like a fun commander but I know my playgroup would hate me for using it

why not add Endrek Sahr to the deck? that way when you cast massacre girl you create 5 1/1 tokens to start off the chain.

I play massacre girl as if it's an aristocrat deck, except instead of sac outlets, I just wipe them all out at once. and then there's Falkenrath Noble & Blood Artist, Warteye Witch & Shadows of the Past, all of them to make sure I have better life points and cards than opponents. I play a lot of small creatures, and basically all of them are just there to be wiped, and most have "When ~ dies" triggers in my favor. It works, but usually not well enough to seem intimidating during the beginning of the game. I have some defence, I have some answers, but no explosive turns happen. The big game change happens in late game, where I switch my strategy and start grave robbing: Sepulchral primordial, Necromantic selection, Grave betrayal, Grimoire of the dead, Desecrated Tomb. There's a lot of enchantments that help me keep up with other players when I have no creatures at all in play, and during play I always let massacre girl die, instead of letting her go to the command zone. It's cheaper to return her from the graveyard three times than it is to spend 2, 4, and 6 mana extra casting it from the command zone zone.

Well, I would consider Conjurer's Closet since you don't have to flicker Massacre Girl but are able to and with it you get more value over time from your other ETB creatures :)

I'd go equipment to voltron her up after the board wipe and swing to win. Plus you need sac outlets otherwise you wont get to recast her if the board gets flooded again because they wont kill her avoiding giving you another boardwipe

She deals with Avacyn, Angel of Hope! And all of those other pesky indestructables!!!

I'd include 'no mercy' as it kills creatures for daring to hit you. When your commander then goes off because of that, shenanigans can easily ensue

Sooo... I have seen this whole vid, but I am curious. What do you guys see as the primary way to win with this deck. We keep creatures in check, so how will we actually win the game? (Either reminders from this vid or others not mentioned will be neat. I'd like to get ideas of a potential deck I might build in the future maybe).

There are creatures that let you bring her from your graveyard to your hand, and have just 1 or 2 toughness which is awesone

Massacre Girl is a Magical Girl who's power is she kills everyone. I have a box coming in (because I ordered it as soon as I got the chance) and honestly I'm So Excited for massacre girl because she's So easy to build around. Lilliana Loves this play style and having a bunch of Good black zombies and vampires makes her ability to force death triggers across the board And fill up the graveyards efficiently is intuitive.

Just a heads up, you're missing 6 cards in the Maindeck slot of the decklist.

Please do a video on niv-mizzet reborn! I don't really understand how it works but I love the art and flavor so much

Do a Niv Mizet Reborn tech next. I'm gonna build him using other than a few staples and some of the mana base I'll use cards only printed in the 9 ravnica sets or characters that have been in ravnicas lore

I always thought this was the most random name for a creature, let alone a legendary creature.

you don't need to chain 1/1 to 2/2 because if you wipe a bunch of tokens die they all stack so it is easier to use afterlife creatures and on death token makes as well :)

Id suggest including hunted horror in this deck, but Im not sure the tokens it gives opponents would get affected by her board wipes as theyd have protection from black. Still, a 2 mana cost 7/7 is pretty nice XD

i like how it is lord godfrey from hearthstone for 2 less mana for 1 less "damage" to health in exchange for menace.

Depending on your opponents' creature counts, I'd think Haunt of High Tower could be a good addition to this deck as well.

This set is nuts i just wish there where more two and three color commanders. There are so many mono colored. I think kefnet and Mr pig god are the craziest two mono colored (so far)

I like Defile from Heartstone on a dangerous girl.

I prefer the idea of just having a lot of little deathtouchers or cards that can pull cards from the graveyard, or just draw a card and become chain fodder.

Also maybe add more taxing enchantments that hurt noncreature decks. Mostly cuz if an opp has an enchantment you cant actually deal with it

I amost think she should be a discard commander. Rotting Rats and Burglar Rat start the Massacre chain as well as force the table to commit their cards to the board. Then, the turn before you cast your commander, Awaken The Erstwhile.

Hmm I feel like wasn't reading the card right massacre girl isn't affected by the -1/-1s flying around. I feel like Yahenni could get the ball rolling. And self reanimtors can be powerful.

You forgot one key card that would enable a lot of the creatures that you already put in the deck and your commander as well. Recurring the board wipe over and over again. Decoction module. It's an uncommon in kaladesh. It reads something like pay 4 colorless and tap return Target creature to your hand. Also enables gonti for those gonti players that like to steal a whole lot of things off people's libraries

I hope she is playable in black white tokens as a sideboard card :3. 5 mana wipe in a modern deck seems slow BUT it dodges push bolt and decay. Also very hard to block
