I used to go and "help out" at a local farm when I was about 8 years old. The two brothers who were the farmers learned me how to drive a tractor ! It was on a grey Fergie. They also had a 35 and later a 135. I remember I had to stand on the clutch, put it in gear and then jump up on the seat to get going 😄 Watching your videos brings back some memories Steve ! Thanks for that. Cheers, Ard
Hi Ard . Great stuff mate. Those are good tractor’s. The grey ones are a bit light and can be dangerous but good for the right job. 135 are great. Thanks for watching mate
Hi steve projects always take longer than we would like to get done an i use concept paints as they have all the old colours an can mixe them as you need it an thanks for the sub . Cheers mate
Hi Peter they always do mate or we get them to a useable stage and that’s where they stay. I haven’t used them mate but use a local auto paint shop for the truck paint, protec I think and it’s great. The paint on that 35 is from bareco, went on nice but faded straight away. No problem mate thanks
I have one just like this tractor, made in England 🇬🇧 A212 Perkins ,I think my was made mide of 60s same hand brake ,clutch pedal, brake pedal, small diferencial all the same, this particular model is super strong 💪🏿 no one like this side beats then❤
Hi mate and thank you. Great to share it with people like you that appreciate it. The whole reason I do it. I have another v8 ford blitz that will hopefully appear soon too. I always enjoy a sandwich mate. Thanks for watching and plenty more to come
I drove a zetor once about fifty years ago. It had a very nice big cab that you could have a party in. Best of all it had its own air compressor, just about the handiest thing going on a tractor I thought.
Hi mate thanks for watching. It is a great machine. I just recently discovered water in the oil though. Hopefully it’s gone down the exhaust pipe and past the rings. Don’t think it’s a head gasket
G'day mate loving your Channel Our neighbour has a fiat 415 and it caught alight and cranked itself out of the shed thus saving the shed from burning down This is the 2nd time have heard of this happening Had a laugh when you said by the time you get your gear going ya coulda had the job done Welcome to my world 😃
Hi Tom great stuff mate. Well mate this certainly happened and yours is the 2nd I’ve also heard of. A bloke I know had a bobcat skid steer many years ago that also started winding over by itself but just ended up going flat so nothing happened to it. Yes mate it happens even if the gear is half decent, still takes a lot of work. It’s just how it is. Thanks for watching Tom
Hi Gerald yes mate it was an arse. It wasn’t sitting there long but stuck good in that time. One I got an old screwdriver bent to where I could touch the plate it flicked straight off. How it didn’t when we were driving it I will never know
Another nice video Steve, when you said 'Leaking from places you can't repair'. I had great sympathy, I'm 67 🤣😂Take care mate, merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and your family🎅. Norm.
It does a bit mate. The camera didn’t really pick up on the difference to much. It’s been a great tractor in all the years I’ve known it. They make a good product
Sweet one Steve good ya dad fit enough too help I'm getting bit pass that went for ride down too Pt Lincoln today lot road trains moveing grain good year on cropping this one CHEERS
Hi Ron, yes mate he’s very active. He still operates the d10 cat where I work and supervise also. He’s a good help at my place. I believe the crop is good. Know a few blokes carting this year
Also I'd be interested in the other muffler I've only got a toy farm 3.5 acres n have a Fordson Major front end loader n it's loud I'd like to quiet it down a tad lol also another great video keep up the great work
I have a little Hough loader which has had the clutch stuck since I’ve owned it and the clutch runs in oil. For years I’ve been using it by stopping, shifting and starting again. To make matters worse the brakes don’t work either, minor details. Falls in the category of I’ll get to it some day.
A nice video of a legendary machine. It might be worth checking the trackrods and steering column for oil and grease if it's still got a tight spot. Do the 165 up so your kids can whinge about Dad hogging the tractor and they have to bloody record😆
Hi mate thanks. I didn’t drive it after this video but my dad was and he said it steered good. I would say it was probably air because reservoir was empty. But yes you are right, I doubt it was greased properly in the previous years so needs that doing
@@stevesplacedownunder Fair one mate, on my LR Dirustary 1 I jacked up the front axle to work the air out after a fluid change. It was on a Series 3 I had a tight spot that turned out to be a trackrod seizing that the previous fuckknuckle didn't grease. Turns out maintaining the joints goes a long way to making the Series steering less shit😂
@@stevesplacedownunder I worked for Masey dearlership , I would get a industrial 2 pack paint colour match / colour and repaint the tractors . Did a kubota once and spotted it 2 years later and it still had a shine Try and find the paint brand etc got it from Paint and parts / thomas parker rare spares
Thanks Andrew, yes the next one I do would be 2 pack. The local shop here can mix any colour. I like patina too so to paint one it would have to be like this MF and be burnt or something like that, or if someone wanted one restored
I'm over in western Oz my boss had a 2850 jd it had been sitting in the shed for months one day he drives past and the thing is sitting there idling away no one had touched it just decided it wanted a run I suppose hahah. Thanks for putting in the time to make the videos I really enjoy them you dont happen to have some old fordsons do you? Would love to see them if you do
Hi mate thanks for watching. Yes it happens absolutely, I think a few people thought I was having them on about it. I’m enjoying doing mate if there are people like yourself enjoying it, that’s what it’s about. The only fordson tractors here are two E27n petrol tractors. A fairly common one here but still old. I can do a start up on one of those
