I like a cab less tractor as much as the next person but there is not enough money in the world that could persuade me to sit that close to a flail head with only a jacket and a bit of a face shield for protection
I think you have to attach a screen on your tractor because when you cut the top the tendency of the blade can broke and accidentally hit you must safety first
How many HP would be required to run this flail on the 35 ? Is it maxed out trying to drive that machine or can it handle it ? I’d like to get a hedge cutter for my Massey 135
It is pretty stable and I don't have any problems using it at full reach either. The front weights help keep the nose from sliding around when you are tackling thicker stuff like hazel and ash.
I have stabiliser bars like these: www.silverfoxtractorspares.com/massey-ferguson-tractor-stabiliser-bar-adjustable-2766-p.asp You definitely need something like this to stop the play. The cutter frame isn't enough.
The cutter head is powered by a pump on the machine which is driven by the PTO. The arms use the tractors hydraulics (piped to a diverter valve) and are operated using cable controls mounted on the wing.
