Don’t blame you for not taking this challenge seriously. The restaurant did not hold up their part of the deal, so why should. You always deliver when you haven’t been set up for a fall. ❤️

There is much to be said for the restaurants who put the challenge in writing. A fair contract between the customer and the store. Definitley need a word with corporate.

The low-key shade throughout the entire video without ever being disrespectful gives me life. You can see the frustration, but you never blow up or make a scene, or put down the restaurant. It's almost inspiring because I probably would have been half as chill as you were. But I agree it was probably a chef issue, not the managers fault. Still did a great job, considering.
I am glad you didn't try to finish that challenge. I have a ton of respect for you the size of that challenge had me concerned even as talented as you are.
I think you need to take your own digital scales with you where a weight is specified and ask for a second plate/platter so that its weight can be deducted. You're always so polite I dont see how they could refuse and retain any credibility. Top girl!👏👏👏
Katina, I really enjoy your videos because of how kind, personable, and professional you are. It is impressive to watch you eat what I certainly could not do. I tried a food challenge once and thought because I am a big guy I could do it. Oh boy was I ever wrong.
From watching and following other food eating compeditors it seems to be quite common for the establishments to serve wayyyyy more food on the plate than advertised as a challenge. Its like they know it might cost them money or prizes etc when a real food compeditor does the challenge and to me in all fairness thats just not right. Its kinda mean spirited as it takes a lot of training and practise I would presume to get to a high level of skill to beat challenges so making it deliberalty and sneakily harder is just wrong. Love your videos by the way lol

They def doubled up on the portion and put on some funky chili to throw you off. Better not to try to beat the challenge and enjoy the day with your friends. Glad you got to go to Disneyland just before they shut it down. Not due to coronavirus, but because Mickey & Minnie are getting a divorce. Mickey filed for the divorce. His lawyer said he couldn't get a divorce just because he thought Minnie was a bit weird. Mickey replied: "I didn't say she was weird, I said she was f*cking Goofy!!!!!" Yeah, look at Randy Santel's version of this challenge you can see the plate with spaces between all the food. Katina you were hosed on this challenge. I don't count it against ya.

This challenge is similar to beths cafe in Seattle. I was there when Adam tried the challenge. TRIED. He did a valiant effort. Hopefully you can make it there.
I watched some other YT channels do the same challenge and you're right their plates were WAY smaller. That location definitely cheated and should be exposed for it.
While i hate to see an eater lose, especially to an unethical challenge, i can't help but like this video for how gracious and forgiving you are in the face of a lousy situation.
That was totally crap that they did that to you. I also watch Randy Santel and he's had that happen too. Even tho you weren't into it 100% you still did a great job.

I wouldn't pay. You need a BIG "manager" along for the ride on these things. Public shaming doesn't seem enough. WHY do these places do this, when a win by you costs them $20 tops, and the publicity online would be valuable. Headshakingly stupid.

I don't think you understand that challenges are supposed to e almost impossible cause restaurants I checked aren't in the business of giving out free huge meals. They are also not available for professional eaters/challengers. Now if they lied when asked that's a different deal.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day Katina! Something sounded very familiar about this video and then I realized that Joel Hansen did the spicy ass burrito challenge 2 days ago at the broken yolk in San Diego. The pro about that burrito is at least they didn’t skimp on anything but of course the con was it was way over the pound limit they were supposed to give you and made it harder for you to finish. You still killed it, that was a ton of food!
Yes, i had a similar question. Do you ever bring a scale and weigh it in front of them? After all, they are setting rules for your challenge....the least they could do is honor their own rules...
