Made this base in 2016 and I've worked on it the few times I've played over the past few years. Not sure but it may be one of the largest ones in the game. Sorry about the low FPS I don't think the game was designed for a base this big.
I play this game sometimes. Right now I have a base with 700 colonists, and about 1000 bots (also have 1000 prestige). On my machine, once I get over about 500 bots, I begin lagging horribly, so I try to keep it under that number. I don't know why I play the game since I have done literally everything, but I still do.
Good job bro it's literally so hard for me to get past 650 because my colonists typically die. How did you get so many bots? My map is almost full and there's little space for anything left, additionally my storage domes are filling with excess stuff.
@@PlutoniumYT I just keep plenty of food domes growing at all times. I try to keep a surplus of food (say 500 or more in storage at all times). With bots, I just build a bunch of robot facilities and leave most of them on carrier bots (since carriers are what you need most of). If you build a bunch of robot facilities, you can have 500 bots in no time (they multiply fast). And then be sure to build a number of robot facilities with nothing but bot repair things installed. (So all those bots will have a place to repair without waiting in lines).
I have a way bigger base with over 1000 colonists but the game after 800+ colonists is unplayable, the game engine allows you to have a max of about 300 people after your fps are decreasing drastically from 60fps to 1-2 fps at 1000 colonists on the lowest possible settings. I checked the highest peaks and my processor is maxed at 45% and graphic card below 30% usage (gtx 1070) so the game is not able to handle my cpu potential, looks like made on the really crap engine it's so bad if you wanna make fun and go above 1000 colonists it's just totally unplayable. Even after 300 colonists no way how good computer you have you will have way below 60fps. Looks like bots are less complicated to handle than humans so you can have more bots than humans before your game becomes laggy. 1000 bots and 1000 colonists is literally 1fps xD
