💜💜 @Jen that’s fantastic! I have definitely found audible to be a wonderful investment and they recently upped their included options making a membership an even better value. I save money by doing an annual membership, and I split my books between my choices and ones that I listen to with my kids. LOVE Audible! Side note- @Frugal Fit Mom- I speed everything up too. Including RU-vid videos. My girls do too. It helps our ADHD minds focus. My husband does things at “regular” speed and it drives me bonkers. LOL.
@Debbie H I absolutely agree with you. Some schools were only open for 4 days and they had to close due to an outbreak. My area just had a huge outbreak at our hospital, due to not following protocols because the patient was an employee's parent. Sad. The protocols are there for a reason and should be followed regardless of how well you know people. It's a false sense of safety.
@Debbie H when our govt originally told us to treat this as if it's the flu, I google'd previous pandemics and read thru all of them. Vitamin c was mentioned twice so I took notes. #1. There was a study in 2009 where patients took as little as 200 mg of vitamin c which reduced the death rates by 80%. #2. Patients in China who tested positive for coronavirus were given IV drip of 24,000 mg of vitamin c which made me wonder if it's possible to overdose on vitamin c? I've talked to a few doctors who said no. Our body will use what it needs and then eliminate the rest thru your bodily wastes. BM. So, I've looked at my Centrum vitamins and there's only 100 mg so I added 1,000 mg of vitamin c, with 2,000 mg of glucosamine to stay mobile, and 1200 mg of calcium plus 25 mg of vitamin d3. I take these vitamins in the morning bc I take thyroid pills at night. I also take 2 benadryl at both pill times bc I need sinus surgery. I'm job hunting now. 😍 I hope this helps keep everyone happy and healthy. Check with your doctors before taking the vitamin c in case of allergy or another medicine that may counteract it, like blood pressure meds? Or possibly prostate cancer meds? Stay safe.
Bacon freezes like a dream. Since my stores sell it for $7 a pack, I'd happily go back for more bacon at that price. Wow ... only $1 for the good bacon.
I am very disappointed with Hailey. (Forgive me if I spelled that wrong!) Anyway...I am super disappointed. What a missed opportunity. She had you IN A CART inside of Walmart! You were at her mercy! She could have pushed you all over that store. She could have ran super fast & pretended to crash with you inside. She could have made you think she was going to let you out & when you tried, she could have started running again! The possibilities were endless. I also just realized your very sweet daughter is more mature than me.....a wife & a mother of 5! 😂😂😂
I have been so jealous of your grocery hauls as things are expensive where I live. Today I found bananas for 10 cents a pound. I got about 10 pounds and thought what would Christine do? So I got 30 pounds and it cost me 3.28 cents. I am going to do what you recommended and let them ripen and slice them into a freezer bag!!!! Love love love the channel.
I used to feel guilty about clearing out the supplies when I found an amazing deal. And then the pandemic hit and I didn’t need to go shopping for the first month at all. The second month was for fresh items. By the time we hit the 3rd month it was just the normal rotation of my Prepper Pantry. Go back and get the bacon. No room in freezer? Dehydrate it in your oven for Bacon Jerky!
I'm so hype for future Costco videos. I'm a corporate employee and Ive been looking up the new warehouses inventory when I'm bored like "I wonder if the Frugal family likes the Kirkland signature peanut butter pretzels..." Yeah you could say I've run out of things to do.
Thank u for your videos. I struggle with manic depression and with that comes fatigue. I enjoy your food hauls and recipes. It gives me motivation and a little sunshine in my day 💗
I just want to say, for those who recognize the origin of the "All the things!" meme shown at 1:22, that Allie Brosh (the comic who drew it) is coming out with a new book after years and years of no news. We know she's suffered from depression in the past so fans of her blog (Hyperbole and a Half) are rejoicing. If you want to see more of her artwork and her ridiculously funny stories, google Hyperbole and a Half or check out either of her books- Hyperbole and a Half- Unfortunate Situations or Solutions and Other Problems. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk (and sorry for shilling someone else's blog on Christine's channel).
Growing up, my mom shopped at the bread discount store too. We called it "the used" bread store because she is a major thrifter and yard sale shopper. haha
I just discovered your channel and ive been binging it for days now😂😂😂 love you Christine, you put so much effort to feed your family and YOU ARE NOT LAZY AT ALL!!! lots of love!!!😘😘😘
Omg christine i love the cart story. I work at Walmart in the sfs department "ship from store" we shop for customers online orders & pack them up then ship them out kinda like a mini amazon anyways i was laughing so hard listening to haily because we literally do the same thing if something is too high we do whatever we have to reach it ive climb on shelfs, carts, one time i even had to use a light saver from the toy isle & a walking cane that extended and even a broom i usually carry one of those items in my cart all day to knock things off the top shelf... we always yell short people problems when we see each other on the sales floor climbing & knocking over things😆
"Bookmarks are for quitters"... priceless!!! Going on my quote board and maybe a wall hanging for a couple of remarkably fast reading friends. Thanks!!
Great deals! Wow for the Skippy price. As a vegetarian, no to the bacon, ha! But you do you. My daughter also loves Takis. If we can find them under $3, I splurge and will pick up a bag. Those almonds are delicious but evil. Also love those Costco chips.
Aww I love those shots of the kids! Show their personalities so well! Your littlest dude is SUPER cute! I smile every time he comes on camera! Andrew has the funniest personality!
In my opinion, this is one of the best videos that you've posted. I enjoyed your hauls and it was nice that you included your kids. I pray for safety and good health for all of the kids returning to school.
Listen, I always get super excited when there's book content, as I have a booktube channel. You're making my heart sing over here. "And mom didn't die" hahahha
Yes!! Go back for more bacon. I loved the water bottle story. I tend to go and find some tongs or a broom and grab things from the top shelf with those. Keeps me from injuring myself unless the water bottle falls on my head 😉
@@youmakemehappy7 yeah that's why there were schools that opened for 4 days and had to shut down because of an outbreak. Also why there was a Trump administration order forcing teachers to work with our children even if they are exposed to Covid... because they are essential workers. Totally safe...uh huh.
This is uncharted territory. It's a tough decision to make. I kept my kids home, but I see both sides. I feel like either way their education will be sketchy this year. We are probably at higher risk than this young healthy family too. I worry more about the high risk teachers.
Why do I like this video? It's just a video of what she buys when the kids go back to school... I don't even have kids, so I shouldn't like it, but I am FASCINATED! You do such a great job making your videos entertaining and informative! Keep up the great work!
Such an amazing haul! You were not lying about how epic this was going to be. I would definitely go get more bacon because you can’t beat $1/pound for bacon. Hope Haley has an amazing birthday and hoping your kids stay safe when going back to school. Much love to you and your family ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
If you save the lids off the peanut butter jars they fit perfectly on canning jars. I use them to put on my jars after I open them instead of the canning lids
I use to always get high Sierra backpacks for school and one backpack would last me at least 3 years! Super durable and they had good comfort padding. Love the backpacks you got for your boys
i’m overweight and your videos inspire me to eat healthier because shopping clearance kind of forces you to eat a lot healthier (usually), i think i’m a lot healthier after eating a ton of marked done salads and it’s thanks to you. 🥰
Best water bottle story ever. I'm usually the one reaching/climbing on shelves because I'm like 4" taller than my mom and apparently I'm more agile than her. Also, your kids are all so stinking cute but Ryan is just ADORABLE. He's so excited about his backpack. All four of them crack me up though.
I do alot of grocery frugal hauls on my channel as well. Yes, go get the bacon if you use it alot and you have the freezer room. I always stock up as well when there is a huge sale going on!
hi! I'm vietnamese and for those pho bowls to make them taste just like the pho restaurants is to add 1 teaspoon of hoisin sauce and sriracha. Squeeze in a slice of lime and top it off with cilantro, if you have any! I really like them and those add ins make it taste awesome👌
To help with the peanut butter consumption, you can make gluten free peanut butter cookies. 1C peanut butter, 1C sugar, and 1egg. Mix together, roll into small balls, criss cross with a fork and bake for 8 minutes at 350°. They are very sugary but a huge hit.
Bacon is like chocolate chips...you can never have enough😄 So many pumpkin seeds for free is amazing! Seeds, mango, little coconut chips and nuts, you have yourself a home made trail mix. Great for work or school snacks.
I need to thank you. Our kids haven't been back to school yet. Its all distance learning. I have been ln medical leave since January without pay. My husband's income puts over the poverty limit but we are eating random stuff to just eat. Went to church meals and food boxes. Its nice to have some great ideas. Oregon is a bit pricey but thank you!
Insane haul! I love to get more ideas for kids lunches. Our schools are fully peanut free and also peanut substitute free - I always get excited for any ideas that might fit our school restrictions.
My son and I volunteer for our local food bank and they have guidelines they follow for expiration dates on food. It’s different based on the item. For example I believe canned veggies are ok up to 5 years past the date on the can. Thanks for sharing your haul, it was fun to watch.
I always watched your video as a silent viewer but once you mentioned Sarah j. Mass i had to leave you a comment ...Girl you have a fantastic taste and all books in that serie is just epic and you will be hooked...I can guarantee it hhh
Your Bookmarks are for Quitters was so appropriate for me with the Cassandra Clare books. I literally read the whole series in under 2 weeks, the 6 Mortal Instruments books, as well as the 3 Pre-quel books in the Infernal Instruments set. Not kidding. I loved those books.
The mango style dressings are fantastic especially the one from Bitten's. Excellent as a Cole slaw type dressing on cold black bean salad. I season my black beans with about ten cherry tomatoes, one medium onion diced and a medium sized wedge of lime including the Rhine and cook dried beans according to directions. You don't need salt until after you taste the bean salad with about two tablespoons of the Bitten's mango salad dressing for a minimum of one pound of cooked black beans. Optional ingredients are salt to taste, jalapeno or pepper of choice, fresh cilantro, onions or avacodos. The Mango dressing also is good as a substitute for lime juice when making guacamole that will be eaten within a few hours. Also fantastic for a quick cherry tomato salad. Just toss the diced tomatoes in a light coating of Bitten's mango dressing then add any other toppings of choice. Many other good recipes. Slightly good with cooked sweet potato. Also a good substitute for tarter sauce. Looking forward to seeing your creative use of the mango dressing.
Oh yea, those kirkland protein bars are not great. Good for when I'm out and my hypoglicemia attacks, but they have a very distinct...like bitter taste to them. Also, all those jars of peanut butter all lined up together was very satisfying to look at. I actually paused the video to just look at them and count them! So cool
1 jar peanut butter 1 tub frosting warmed up in the microwave mix together pour into lightly greased 9x9 pan refrigerate for about 4 hours easiest fudge ever !
Nice score christine! At first I was like "wth"...but then duh...I grew up in a 6 person household...food goes quick. Hope your kids have a safe start for back to school 🤗
Who doesn't love Christine's major grocery hauls??? I wonder if you can freeze jars of PB? My daughters love to eat those Quaker mini chips with flavored whipped cream cheese -- My fave are the apple cinnamon crisps with honey pecan cream cheese - it's like a mini cheesecake!
