If you sign up for the sleepover, though not expected to do it. I can see them finding a reason that they need you and will have to cancel if you don't, guilt-tripping. You do so much for your current guide group, i can see them causing you to do double the work. Sometimes its better to stick to your first no. If you do a couple days they will trap you into more.

What great progress you are making! Look at all those clear stairs 😀. The 3 bins/bags system might work for you when you are focusing on a room. Put Away, Give Away, Throw Away - with the first of those being for any items that belong in a different room. Five or ten minutes before you are thinking of finishing a declutterring session, try stopping and then taking the Put Away items to the room they belong in, the Give Aways into the car boot ready for the charity shop (or wherever you are keeping your sale items) and the Throw Aways into the dustbin/recycling bin. That might help to avoid that feeling of clearing up one area only to clutter up another.

Hello Emma, I'm from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤ I love your content, it is so honest and refreshing. You are doing an amazing job decluttering. I have just started out on my decluttering journey and have a long way to go. Do you have a top 3 tips for someone starting out? Your videos are inspiring. I like to put them on, and do "body doubling", working alongside someone else is a great motivator. Thank you again. Bea from Australia 😊

This might be my favorite video you've done so far Emma! Your daughter's room turned out great! I loved getting to see a little of the declutter aftermath (landing & stairs) get dealt with right away. So much hard work! Always great to declutter before birthdays & Christmas! When decluttering I usually have a clothes basket or something I KNOW is designated in the room I'm working in to put things that belong in other rooms. When I finish either for that time, or finish decluttering that room I take it with me and drop everything off at least in it's space and/or if time allows I put it completely away. If you are working on a longer project, it helps to distribute misplaced things whenever you leave the workspace so it's not such a huge amount when you're finished. HTH!

Hello, greetings from Finland! :) I just wanted to share a challenge I learned a while back - 2-5 min clean up challenge. It could be f.e. tv ad break. One uses the time for putting something away or collecting trash items to bin or clean a table. Whatever needs to be tidied. It could even be sorting out a drawer. My children are small but we like to put a 5min timer before evening chores and compete against each other, everyone has some task and the quickest to complete wins a cookie or gets to choose the night-night story. Different prizes, sometimes a small wish kids have. We get to laugh a lot during this little time and parents get a somewhat tidier home, or so we hope, haha. Of saying no, you could be firm and say, I don't do this now. The moment they see you considering, they try more and more. WhatsApp messages are just rude, I would ignore them. Keep on the good job and take care!

Don't worry if things get messy again. It's just the way it happens. I won't even tell you how many videos I watched in a row just in order to get my kitchen back in order. The focus can shift from one task to another. Fresh eyes are always great when decluttering.

Hi Emma, Reply; yes my son still has allergies, he’s also allergic to cats, dogs and grass. He keeps his allergies under control, so his asthma is under control. When he mows the lawn, he takes extra allergy medication. You are doing a great job in your daughter’s room! I’m glad you cleaned up your hall and stair ways. I got a little panicky when you showed it. My first thought was how are you and your family would get down the stairs if you ever have a fire or need EMT’s upstairs. ( I pray that neither ever happens). Great job. Yes, air fluff is a setting on dryers that fluff things up like down blankets and help remove dust from items. 😊

Hello Emma 🙂I use a tray, that I put things that don't belong on while I'm busy doing the room I'm in, then I can the take the tray with me and distribute it around when I'm finished and empty the tray. I was wondering , well thinking an idea I have is, your daughters pigeon hole tall bookcase unit, could you empty it and use is behind the door for better storage and neaten that area. With the books could you take off the baskets on the other unit that won't fit under the bed and just put the baskets under the bed free standing ( maybe with only keepsakes and things she and you want to save for her own children etc so the baskets are purely storage right under the bed). That will leave the unit without baskets that you can then put her books on instead, and would that make space for a little desk / dressing table, to stand her lovely new mirror on maybe pick one with drawers for more storage as well. I'm with you on the blue sweets, as you know I have a heart rhythm issue that I'm due a second procedure for on 25th Sept and anything blue soes in fact affect that heart issue , so it just shows how awful it really is for us.
@sharonmumi
@sharonmumi Месяц назад
having just heard the other comment about getting the unit under the bed that's a good idea, but with the bookcase behind the door, freeing space for her desk. Could you make little bags ( either with her old little bags or purses or gift bags) for guides, friends, or the sale that have hair bands and little sample toiletries in them?. Would the old mosquito cream be useful to use as leather restorer, as its moisture based could you shine your shoes, bags, handbags, furniture, use it up and then get rid of the bottles, in plastic recycling?

Before I had "almost" fully decluttered, I would either make piles of things that needed to go to different rooms or I would put everything in a basket to carry around with me as I cleaned. Now I just put everything on the stairs that needs to go up and I don't walk past it unless my hands are full, not stopping until things are put away where they belong. Yay! You saw rabbits and goats. 🎉 We had another set of twin goats born today! For our family we tried to practice presence instead of presents. What is something we could do together, not what we could give. When my husband passed away, many of the things his oldest nephew shared about him or experiences they had together like driving out by the airport and watching the planes fly, going to a car show or a train museum. I loved watching you go down the slide! Curious how you could record your daughter from behind when both of your hands were holding the mat.
@gettingtidy2495
@gettingtidy2495 Месяц назад
@@brookhowell8841 how long did it take you to fully declutter? Have you named the twins and how's the Mum doing? Because he remembered the time and memories with his Uncle you can never forget those. Chatting in the car on the way there etc. Valuable time. I held on with one hand 😁 I wasn't going to go on (as you have to pay per person) but my daughter really wanted me to and I watched other children going up and down with siblings so that's when I said "I'm on my way" the only bit I didn't like was when the owner sprayed the slide with pledge and I went through the spray!

Dad has gotten rid of a few items of clothing and nothing else! The mom is doing well.
