Wow, I'm assuming he destroyed his pelvis at least, with that first hit. I know I had an Angel with me when I wrecked in 2020 up Hobble Creek canyon Utah. Don't remember a thing, have no idea what happened on a straight section but came to when it was loaded on the Life flight 🚁.
Unbelievable. I had to look it up. Landed on the bonnet of the car, kind of flattening it. He more or less walked away! Lesson: don't park your car on the Isle of Man...
But the video wouldve been even better if he had stopped the video with the rider coming back up in reverse after he hit the ground. Lol. Like billy bob thornton and john cusack in the movie pushing tin.
They are indeed but the ones who make the journey to the isle of man and basically go "all in" to willingly and enthusiastically participate in a race that on average claims 2-3 lives every race are a whole different type of cowboy
Personally I think you’re right it definitely did! But if the car wasn’t where it was it looked like he would of just smashed his head off the concrete, he was like 25ish foot up in the air that car took the majority of the impact when he was falling down, if that car wasn’t there he wouldn’t of raced in the TT a couple weeks later
I know man major respect to these fellas, I live on the Isle of Man where racing gets a bit crazy too I completely understand 🤙🏼 Edit: Paul is from the Isle of Man beast of a man!
For the past decade or so now cars have impressive pedestrian impact zones from all kinds of angles so I think it is better landing on a car than on the road
Were watching it in slow motion but for this rider, the accident probably felt like it happened in slow motion. When you adrenaline is pumping and something goes wrong, it feels like time slows down during an accident as your mind tries to consider every outcome.
That's normal,it's all in slow motion, dont you ever crash? Our brain sees all,I know that in the most hard way,2 times to be more exact. Amazing how at 200 kph or high, that happens. 😅❤
I had an accident similar when I was 17, went over the handlebars and up in the air like that, looked towards the ground- total blackness, nothing. No feeling, no thoughts, I was lucky, I was unconscious for so long that when I came round I was sitting in the back seat of a police car and the ambulance was sat in front of it. Let me tell you, it’s a terrifying feeling.
Paul Cassidy was flung around 25 feet into the air after a collision, landing in someone's garden on top of a car. Mr Cassidy thanked "everyone for all support ..all the medical staff did a cracking job."
Him being ejected up in2 the air off of the bike, the tumbling thru the air like a pinwheel almost looked like something out of a cartoon or a movie...
The resident of the house sitting at the top window watching the race was probably open-mouthed watching the guy fly by 😳 Imagine how much landing hurt
I'm not sure if this is but I have been to six isle man tt races. If you have not gone you have to see this race. They are complete "Dare Devils" This rider acknowledged he was going to crash from at least 100 feet out and got prepared the best he could by down shifting. Once you see one you will get hooked and be back for more.
Unfortunately i witnessed a very similar motorcycle crash around 2 years in Walton Liverpool when a biker collided with a car at high speed with a very similar result, seeing that poor bloke launched into the air and didn't survive, it was horrendous and it did appear to happen in slow motion, i can still picture it to this day.
Reminds me of my motorcycle accident. I don't remember flying in the air- but I DEFINITELY DID! I landed on the car behind us, bounced off the hood and lost consciousness momentarily. When I snapped out of brain fog- my elbow was dislocated and arm broke in 4-5 places. Its shocking to actually SEE what happened.
Are you in the US. Did the hospital put you on a payment plan or did you have insurance. But sometimes the insurance companies still make you pay a hefty sum.
It's something else the isle of man tt and the technology in barriers suits and bikes to get slow enough in that short distance take a hit ragdoll and survive is incredible
