I love everything that came with the update. If they add a skill tree to Aliens and Mermaids in the future we'll have some absolutely amazing occult sims.
@@autistichuman1401They don't, but they're only a temporary occult anyway, you can't have a REAL plantsim that stays a plantsim, so unless that changes, there's no reason for them to get one
@autistichuman1401 PlantSims and Servos don't have any skill trees either. However, I think it's much more important for occults created in Create a Sim to have a skill tree. PlantSims are temporary occults so they don't need a skill tree, but it would be great if we had trees that could also bear fruit as long as they were PlantSims. :D
i’m actually so glad they finally included WooHooing with Grim 😂 i’ve been wanting that to be a base game thing for ages! i wonder if you’ll be able to Try For Baby with the Grim Reaper too, though 🤔 it would be cool if a child of the Grim Reaper had a special trait like children of Father Winter do
I’m so pleased about the way you can switch your sim to an occult midway through making it because I cannot tell you the amount of times I have made a sim designed as a spellcaster or smtn and then realised they are just a normal person and had to redo it
I’ve had the opposite problems. I’ve had beautiful occult sims that I’ve wanted to add to my suburban save files and it’s so frustrating having them casting spells in front of my craftsman home
on one hand, i find it sweet that the sims team gave modders the files early so they can start updating their mods before the updates drop on the other hand, as someone with 2000+ mods installed, im scared i'll happen next time i open the game FJKSLDJLAJ
I guess this makes me feel like they're finally making the sims into something that is worth my time to invest in, even perhaps with the new life sims games coming out.
I think you can only have babies with Grim if you have Life and Death. In the pack trailer they showed the animation with the "Try For Baby" option, but it was noticeably absent in the base game update, only "Woohoo" seemed to be available. I think Grim babies and special traits will be pack specific.
@@KittyCat260 Of course not.... Im reminded of turn ons and offs from lovestruck and the changing tables from growing together. We get a few pieces (admittedly sometimes huge, like infants, but like.... why are changing tables locked behind an expansion pack? Or turn ons and offs, isnt that simple enough to maybe add to base game since its so barebones already?)
The occult change is so nice for the exact reason you gave. Sometimes I make a sim and as I’m making them I decide I want them to be an Occult instead!
I expected at least some of these features to be exclusive to the pack, so I'm really glad they actually gave us this stuff in a free update! Some of these changes are major, like keeping ghosts as playable household sims.
I’m happy that people who cannot afford the new pack will be getting game changing updates that will get them halfway there. I think it’s only fair that this stuff be base game. Wish they had done that for lovestruck.
OMG I am so surprised at the number of features that were in the Life & Death trailer are actually base game features like the playable ghosts and choosing the graves/urns! And absolutely the best part is being able to woohoo with Grim and I think we can try for babies with him too now, right?
God I hope so. Not that it matters because my mods will make him do whatever I want him to do and I WANT to have his baby in my reaper rewards save. But it's still nice to not feel like you're cheating lol.
I was pleasantly surprised about the ghost pets. I really hope they add plant sims as an occult type we can just make and even have a skill tree for them. Would love to see Mermaids and Aliens get a skill tree as well.
The kids not being deleted is huge for me, one of my first core memories of the sims was playing my sister’s family and accidentally getting the kids taken away. I remember looking through manage worlds and all the other world too (this was sims 2 or 3)
Simsie I just wanted to say that I find it so helpful when you highlight the words as you read them. It helps with auditory processing lol. This looks like such a fun update! Might end up back in my sims era
This update is crazy. I've been wanting the ability to swap between occult types. The number of times when I've made a sim and creativity along the way makes me go; man, this sim really should be an Occult. This was just behind copy outfit pieces between categories on my wishlist, and now they've given us both.
When you download an occult sim from the gallery and want to turn him to a regular sim and you cant? Or you download a regular one and cant turn them occult in CAS? That annoys me SO MUCH. Im so happy with this fix.
I love the occult update it's perfect I don't have to make a whole new sim I can use my existing Sims and turn them into that occult I want without starting over❤😌
as an xbox sims player i am STOKED for these cc creator led kits!! really hoping the creators feel fairly compensated for their work bc this is huge for players like me!
I thought the most exciting thing would be the return of the ability to woohoo Grim (they patched it out like a month after release because romancing Grim and then having him join the household, resulted in no one collecting the bodies, resulting in game breaking glitches, and it was happening ALOT because absolutely everyone was trying to marry Grim) but it was NOT! I was SO OVERWHELMINGLY excited about the update where your dependent sims will NO LONGER BE YEETED INTO OBLIVION when the last adult in the household dies. I have so many divorced sims in separate households, and having the children be deleted when their other parent literally still existed in the game was so frustrating. I also occasionally have the kids temporarily move in with Grandma, so their single parent can go back to university, and I have had saves where Grandma unexpectedly died while I was playing the parent at Uni and the kids were just deleted! I am so excited they fixed this.
i'm so glad they changed the child getting taken away thing. in my own nightmare legacy save, the landgraabs went extinct. like even the estranged members. i tried to make geoffrey and nancy have a child, but they died before the kid grew up. so they're all gone. looked everywhere for their graves too, hoping to bring back their ghosts. nothing. vanished from the face of the earth.
i stopped playing the sims years ago, dont even have the game anymore and dont watch other sims creators anymore either but i like to check in on kayla sometimes. im glad shes still having so much fun with it, it was always my favorite thing about her content. just genuine joy and enjoyment
I'm really hoping that when a townie (or someone not in your active household) dies, you can open their relationship profile to check their cause of death. For example, Bella Goth died in one of my recent playthroughs and I couldn't figure out how she died thru checking the neighborhood stories on the mailbox. I would love to be able to see how they died, EA!
you have absolutely no clue how ecstatic i am that the playable ghost menu and the multiple headstones/urns are bg!!! i was seriously expecting both of those to be locked behind the pack but this is awesome!!!
I'll be so glad my child sims wont be insta-gone forever when reloading them after playing another family for a short while! In my 'unplayed-played households' the childrens school grades always drop really low... Then upon reloading they're often frustratingly immediately whisked away and then were gone for good. This update is probably a game saver for me just for that!!
I am very excited for these new creator kits. As a console player, I don't get access to custom content and this new creator kit idea allows me to finally have the option to buy and download some new stuff from the Sims fans themselves. I'm super chuffed. Thanks to the Sims team for making this a reality and thank you to the creators involved who have made this content for us
the occults in cas has annoyed me for SO LONG!! im soooooo glad we can easily change them now so i don't spend 2 hours making a vampire that i accidentally kept as human :D now all we need to be happy is a MERMAID SKILL TREE because how can they let such an iconic occult be basically uselessssss
The way I, a thirty year old woman, cried tears of joy when I saw the CC creators collab pack is not normal. I have been playing The Sims since I was 11 and to see the creators I have been following for so long being finally seen and recognized it’s something else. There is so much potential for the future!
Regarding creator kits, I find it a little hypocritical that it's against EA's ToS to release custom content under a perma-paywall, but now EA's doing exactly that. I had the same thoughts with the gamepass pajama drama.
I think it’s their way of getting around CC creators recreating and releasing pack content for free as BGC. Any which way you swing it, it’s about money over giving the creators opportunities, sadly.
i love when you do these kinds of videos showing us the new features! makes me so much more excited about updates every time. also the new build kit looks sooo gorgeous
as someone who loves playing with occult sims, being able to change it anytime is so huge, the amount of times ive had to cheap after entering the game was exhausting
Hi Kayla, ehm you have so many graves that I don't think this update will help you reduce damage made by ghosts😅 anyway I'm so happy with this update, finally we can change the occult Sim without losing him or making a new one etc. And the different reactions when someone dies are awesome. This was the update I was looking for. ❤

This update feels so, so needed. I feel like they're actually fixing important things. I'm beginning to believe that they want to keep us around and are actually trying to foster trust with sims players. I'm almost interested in buying the creator kits because I know it supports independent creators, maybe not directly, but eventually because the Sims will pay creators for future packs.
My main lighting mods (Luumia’s Immersive Lighting for CAS and NoBlu + NoGlo) were good to go, and I couldn’t be any happier. Now, I wait for everything else to get updated. 🤣
I like how they made spellcasters and werewolves do their animations less in CAS but not the vampires, whose animation is arguably the most annoying out of all of them lol.
I spend more time in build mode than live mode so I haven't bought any of the clothing kits but THESE PJ's!! I always use the same like 3 sleepwear outfits so this is very exciting

I don;t know what they changed in the main team and the way they do this game but I LOVE IT! I feel like for the first year from the begining of the game they actually LISTEN. I want to buy more Sims 4 content now so good it feels
I can't play the game because my computer can't handle it (it makes the computer overheat really badly and it crashes from overheating), but watching others like Simsie play helps scratch that itch to an extent so I'm so glad to have these videos to watch.
got a cowplant today with my gardener sim. Went to rename it and its default name was Little Simzee, i thought that was intentional and too perfect so i kept it. didn't know if you knew but i thought it was cool.
After i saw the preview for Trillyke's kit I instantly went and checked out their CC and went from a vanilla save to a folder full of CC so i hope this is a good boost for creators. I also panicked when i spent all day today putting in CC and i see the sims telling me to back everything up! Ah!
BRO THE OCCULT CHANGE BUTTON IS A GAME CHANGER! I’m a grade A idiot and the amount of times I’ve accidentally made a normal sim instead of an occult is embarrassing!
Honestly, this is such an amazing update for base game. Totally didn’t expect it to be so epic. And Holy Moly I love the new creator kits. I love that it’s a way for people to support CCers in an affordable way and for kids to have CC too since I know most parents I know at least with kids who enjoy the Sims don’t want them downloading from sites they haven’t personally investigated or don’t want them paying a monthly fee to a Patreon. Truly. I think Creator Kits are the best way for kits to shine and are what I thought kits always should have been. Either collabs with content creators on YT or CC/mods content creators where the actual content is made by the modder.
In options/other you can enable CC and Disable script mods. This is going to be so much fun. The way Grim said it's a lot the way he did in the trailer almost sounded like they mimicked you. Kinda like this pack was made with you in mind. So many Simsie references. It's awesome either way. I cannot wait, but I'll be on a cruise next week.
Thank you for saying the modders carry the game, it's so true, I'm a bit older so I remember when the first one came out, bought it at a book store and was hooked for life, play sims 1, 2, 3, and finally sims 4, to my dissapointment sims 4 sucks without the script mods from the dedicated script modders to the object creators, without them I sadly probably wouldn't play the game anymore, thanks for the video
OHHH THIS IS THE UPDATED I HAVE BEEN NEEDING!!! especially the causes of death/making ghosts in cas and switching between the occults easily!!! AND ALL THE UPDATES TO GHOSTS IN GENERAL AAAA
Try to remove the whole sims 4 folder from your documents and put it somewhere on your PC and then load a new game. Play with it for about 2-3 minutes and save and exit. Go back to that same folder and drag your tray and save file folders into the new generated sims 4 folder in documents. Now sort through any broken mods by removing them by the 50/50 process until things are fixed. Edit: UI glitches are always caused by broken files from mods so you'll have to generate a new folder. Taking your mods out will not be enough.

I am definitely intrigued by the creator kits as a way to support creators. I have often found myself looking at CC packs and just being blown away at the quality, when the game itself isn't even that detailed!! So nice to see such talented people getting compensated for their hard work.
Oh my god the ability to chane occult types is gonna be so nice! Ive been useing MCCC for years to do that since I like to play with my simself and its so annoying to make the household, change him to a vampire in live mode, then have to go back into CAS and get rid of the randomly generated outfits for his vampire form
The ghost skill tree (the power system) actually isn’t in the basegame I think it’s coming with life and death, but the ability to play as a ghost when a sim dies is in the basegame.
I’m really happy for the mod creators getting paid for their work by the sims, personally tho I’ll stick to free cc so I don’t have to spend a ton on every tiny kit

The mermaid tombstone and urn r beautiful and tbh I'll probably use it even if my sim isnt a mermaid i love it so much. I really feel like if u woohoo with grim and become pregnant ur baby should get a special trait like father winter has but I'm just glad grim can b romanced again. As for the creator kits this is very exciting bc I'm on xbox and see so much cool cc that i cant use. I'd love to see a creator kit around stars and horror think of it like the crystal creations and the life & death pack combined. Omg the children being taken by child services not being deleted anymore is going to heal my trauma from the first time that happened to me in the sims 2 and I was so distraught I couldn’t get the kids back my parents literally ended up bringing a family friend who was a computer hacker to try and fix it for me
