My grandad loves watching your videos. He's 71 and we live in New Zealand. You have kept him so entertained throughout our lockdowns, he loves seeing all the machinery and woodwork you do. Thank you so much 🥰
im also from new zealand my 80 year old grandad use to split 20 ton of logs by hand but he passed away earlier this year but we own his house now and im taking over and starting my own business
When I think of a Canadian Lumberjack you my friend is what I envision, in the last few weeks of watching your videos I have learned so much about felling trees, power saws, and axes, and what a decent human being should be. Thank you for all that you do, the world is a better place because you're in it!
Glad to see the Eastomade in action again! You sure made those big rounds into firewood in a hurry. She’s an unstoppable beast! Thank’s for taking us along.
I'll never have the money or need for a machine like this, it was nice to see it in action. Thanks, Buckin, for showing it. Also, your camera angles were spot on, we saw plenty.
the machine is 100% pro bono.. you gave it to us . so it will never bill out as long as i have it.. only give, and help people , so you have given more than you know ... thx '
That machine is definitely a beast. The wood was incredibly stringy, knotty,& heavy. Sure didn’t have any effect on that machine lol. Love it when you use that splitter. Great video Buckin! Thanks 🙏🏾💯❤️💜🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾
Man those are some beautiful rounds!!! Pretty awesome when one round splits out to like a Quarter Cord!!!! 😂😂👍👍. That splitter is an absolute beast!!! That hydraulic lift flips those massive rounds up to the table like they are light as a feather!!! Man O man is that the king of splitters!!! It’s really fantastic that you are going around and blessing folks with the free splitting because you were fortunate enough to have gotten the splitter to demo.... I absolutely love your wild and crazy love of the wood and that you are preaching that we can make the world a better place...right now if we will love our neighbors...love everyone !!! I think your giant heart is a tribute to what a wonderful mother that you have!!! Absolutely love your momma!!! One cool lady!!!
I am so glad I came across your channel a few weeks ago. I remembered watching you and your son on Axe Men years ago. I can’t get enough of your videos. You have a big fan down here in Atlanta, Georgia.
Watching that machine working is a close second to a watching a splitting maul and a chopping block in action, sorry Buckin couldn’t resist. It sure was a nice gift for the channel any one would be proud to run it.
I’m prity sure the boys at Easton never would have thought of seeing a round that big in there splitter Lol I live about 20 min from there shop Love wins again
I gotta say Buckin I'm real glad I found you on here...the positivity and great vibes you expell are just incredible and inspiring. So I'd like to shoot you a thanks for the inspiration to build upon myself and get my head outta the rut it's been in for too long now.
Man that thing is awesome. I don’t know what it is like to use one of them splitters. Always used axes and wedges. Glad ya got one old timer. Be safe with it and may god bless y’all
As someone who ain't used a lot of axes I learn a lot when you split wood manually but I also love Eastonmade and watching that thing destroy that pike of wood was awesome to watch. Someday when I grow up I'll have one of my own.
WOW! You sure are one great big happy camper when you get to splitting them big rounds! And that splitter sure do make it easy on the old back! And lastly… Myrtle’s shift knob is the best!!
That machine is amazing. About the 12 min mark that was cutting through the knots not splitting. How fortunate for you to have that machine to help and spread love to so many people. I am going to the eastonmade channel to see it. Be safe and be careful.
BuckN' the rope on there looks all hill jacked...You have a winch on the machine, unhook it from conveyor and use it to winch up the log lift for pin removal!👍Awesome machine!😎
I subscribed to Andrew's chanel last year when i found out he was here in Eastern Ontario near Ottawa. I love his videos because he shows how capable his machines are. I have seen a lot of videos of Americans using his products and giving only good comments about them. Thank you to our friends south of us buying Canadian made products.
When the best wood splitter in the world is made in Canada then thats where I go. I'm in a long line with others waiting on my Eastonmade 22-28, won't be long now.
I use to run a two station with the Conveyor in the middle. Loaded right in to the back of the dump truck. We used pulp hooks to move the wood around . Helped with hand fatigue. Happy splitting ✌️❤️🌲
The speed of that hydraulic ram is impressive! So is the fact that you still have all of your fingers! It's a good thing that you're no longer a drinkin' man, Buckin'! LOL!
About 2 weeks ago I took down a white oak then cut it into rounds and split them.. the rounds themselves weighed around 700lbs so we could barely move them 3 feet! The diameter of the rounds was 42”, great video Buckin! Love seen the new splitter action!
How perfect is that Buckin?!!.. Very nice unit and looks pretty light with the single axle and all.. Thanks for sharing and putting a smile on our faces.. Keep on keeping on my Canadian brother.. SLANT'E
Not me. It’s kinda hard to do it without keeping your hands close. It’s certainly not a machine for a novice, somebody impaired or for somebody tired/not alert to be using though.Obviously Buckin’ is none of those.
Thank you for a great video. I have a small electric log splitter. Slow but effective. I have recently become a volunteer in a local park. I had 2 chainsaws, 1 stihl and one larger cheaper make. Last year we had a storm and a few trees blocked paths. I was there like a shot, firewood! Free firewood!. Not to be, it appears that volunteers in the park have to trained and insured to use a chainsaw!
I just noticed the saw piston on Myrtal’s shifter! I’m absolutely going to be stealing that one!!!! Wooohooo!!! Man that big old beautiful splitter really gets the job done...that was a huge pile of split Cedar...my goodness I could just lay there next to it and soak up that amazing smell for an hour!!!!
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith it’s funny... I think about stuff I’ve seen in one of your videos and I need to come back to look at it again... I just love the look of this wood!!!! Or this Delicious looking Doug Fir! Did another triple ash... she was a decent size for these parts! Probably 130-140’s... triple leader...they were right around 36” thick sticks... so it was a real blast running the 32” bar on the 066... she blasted it right up...
I luv it Buckin. Nothing like getting out in it and splitting a load of wood. Works good, seems a little jerky. Thats probably due to the size of the valves on the hydraulic system. I noticed that it retracts very rapidly. Had to design a few hydraulic systems to graduate Cat school a few moons ago...
Darn nice splitter there Bucking. Think of the amount of would you could turn out with that baby. Thanks for showing it off. It looks like a great design for all those big chunks of wood . It rides nice behind Myrtle too.
I have two questions: 1) where do you burn that fir? Does it have lots of creosote when it burns? 2) I notice you don't wear gloves handling that wood. Ever get splinters? My hands would be too soft for that! bob
Fir is about the same BTU as most hardwoods. Doug Fir to White Oak for example is 26M BTU per cord compared to 28M BTU on oak. By contrast, maple is but 22.7M BTU. All this means it burns hot and thus clean.
We burn it in our wood stove here in Oregon. Some logs can be pretty pitchy and cause creosote. I always keep a tub of meecos dry creosote destroyer and add to every other fire.keeps pipes clean.but i burn hemlock, alder, port orford cedar, fir, pine, sitka spruce, alaskan yellow. If its seasoned its good..the fir is a great firewood in the PNW.
No Man can split wood as fast as this machine. Sorry Buckin I don’t even thick you could. But it still looks like your getting your exercise in, just running it Hope all are well and safe.
Great video. What are thoughts from a safety perspective? With the speed you’re going, seems like just a matter of time before a hand gets caught under the wedge?
My experience is that wood splitters work a whole different muscle group than splitting with an axe. Don’t be fooled, both are hard work. Great video Buckin!
That machine is amazing!!! Hay if your looking for a lot more people for your Indiana gathering there is a radio station in Chicago that gives away chainsaws on fridays, if you can get Angie Taylor to show up it would bring alot of people that could learn how not to get hurt, she has given them away for the past 2 years,, love ya Bucken, stay safe!
I guess it really wouldn't work much cause you got to spin and push the round to keep it on the table I thought if you hooked into it you could slide it under the splitter but you know whats best your the man keep up the good work I really love your videos your an inspiration I want one of these splitters I want to follow my dreams and make a good honest living and I know this splitter could take me there any advice on being successful in the firewood industry?
Got one simillar like this from a bavarian company called „GROWI“. Man do I love that beast. It‘s just great. But over here you can‘t get them without a two hand trigger guard. Greetings from Bavaria
i love these videos - but I love all your videos - but these log splitter ones are so satisfying. also- how you're not wearing gloves whilst doing all this is so impressive to me. i imagine your hands are like leather 😅
Buckin you ever thought of backing the old truck under the conveyor? Fill her right up. I love that splitter but seems its setup for left handed people. Would drive me nuts to have to swing logs around to the left to get on the conveyor
All I have to say is great videos, and don't get complacent when pinning up that cylinder, its just way too easy to loose a finger. that being said this is not me picking on you or any thing like that, I've just had a few close calls doing that same thing. Keep up the good work!
Ever split ash? That's some tough wood to split. Green or dry its still tough. Knotty and strong. Its a nice hard wood and great for burning. Smells amazing too.
Hey billy I really love watching your videos I know your a hands on guy but if you suggest trying a hookaroon to handle those big rounds it might help some the short handle ones work great..
