What is your favorite Hawaii exclusive item(s) from these food chains? Mines is the Haupia and Taro pie from McDonalds. Cmon, McDonalds make it a permanent item😋🤙👍
Totally agree! I wish McDonalds would make those items permanent! Glad you explained they were seasonal, cause I was wondering why I would only see taro and not Haupia sometimes. The guava looks super good too.
I was born in Hawaii, bit I've been living in Texas for 4 years now. Even though I've been away from my home state for so long, I'm still a local boy at heart. All those local grinds are making me hungry. Lol. Mahalo for posting. I subbscribed.
Ive lived in Hawaii for 20+ years. I forget just how exclusive some of my everyday snacks and meals are. I've truly grown to love the food, culture and ofcourse the people of Hawaii. 🤙🏽
Aloha Scott!! I'm glad that you can watch this channel and see Hawaii again through the exclusive foods. Actually, I don't realize it too until I'm filming about these things I take for granted like the apple pie and our 7-11s. I hope your able to visit again soon🤙👍😋
I agree that the Taro pie should be a permanent menu item. I was sad when it wasn't anywhere to be found when I visited Oahu in March. They did have Haupia at some locations tho.
Thankfully a big Japanese company bought 7-11. It is easy to eat any meal out of them now with all the affordable, tasty selections. I tried them after an 8 year absence and was very pleased with the convenience and freshness. Yum. My most popular Christmas gifts to family this last year were Priority Mail boxes filled with Hawaii made snacks from Long's.
Love 711 and the convenience. And Japan really knows how to do quick pick ups with all the vending machines and Lawson stores too. Can't go wrong with Longs goodies🤙👍😋
Ho! Mouth's already watering at the start of the video. Might not be much to others, but definitely hits home and takes me right back to childhood. As soon as you opened the Shoyu packet and dumped it on the Locals Deluxe, I fell off the couch and got light-headed. I always do that and put a little black pepper and ketchup on the rice too. So tasty! After I fell off da couch, the missus fell off when she saw the dynamite ahi roll. That's her go-to. Another winna video guys! See you soon! 🤙🏽
Aloha Reyes Ohana!! Always good hearing from you guys!! And yes, total old school times for me too with the shoyu packets and that black pepper and ketch up is what my Mom used to do when growing up. The dynamite ahi roll is a winner! Well def grab some local eats when you're here. Have a great weekend!👍🤙😋
THANK YOU Sean for another great video, and i'm actually super happy that someone that's famous agrees that the Jollibee chicken sandwich is the best (bc everyone I know doesn't think so), so finally!
Aloha Regina!! Mahalo for watching this channel. Not famous because I can still go days without being noticed lol but I like to keep it real with the viewers. And you and I agree, Jollibee has the best chicken sandwich. We are friends and those ppl don't know chicken if they don't agree. Lol.👍🤙😋😂
Love this video! Really enjoyed seeing the exclusive Hawaii food items! So trippy to see rice at McDonalds! Safe travels to India! Can't wait to watch it!
Aloha Lisa!! Aww Mahalo for watching till the end of the video. !! And yes, so much exclusive items and I take for granted the rice too at McDonalds. It is different when I think about it. Thanks again🤙😋👍
@HawaiianTraveler | Sean Kaleponi I miss all day breakfast at McDonalds, then I could get all day rice! Since mcds got rice, burger and egg patties, I dunno why they havent had a loco moco breakfast platter all they need is gravy
Aloha Sean and Nhi!! Another great video!!! I usually see videos on only one place, whether its McDonalds, Jollibee , and a lot of 711's. But never all in one video!! Mahalo guys and keep doing what your doing. I love the drone shots too because it gives me a feel of Hawaii's scenary, not just the great Hawaii food!!:):) Have a safe trip in India!!:):)
Aloha Justsaying!! Mahalo for your kind words and we try our best to squeeze everything in one video to make it easier on the viewer and I do want to ppl to get a total Hawaii feel which is why we use the drone shots. Mahalo for noticing!😋👍🤙
Aloha Sean and Nhi!! This was so fun to watch and for sure left us hungry. We love trying the quick and easy food from 7-11 in Hawai’i and love the hint of Filipino flare in some of the items too!! We laughed when you ended up getting the chicken sandwich at Jollibee!! It would be a crime not to get it when you’re there already!! Had no idea about the Thai walls at Starbucks so now we know!! McDonald’s fried pies…just 😋😋😋! Mahalo for sharing another great food tour around the island. Hope you and Nhi have a great trip to India and safe travels to you guys. Can’t wait to see what you guys do and eat there!! 🤙🏽🙌🏽😉
Aloha Michelle and Jose!! I was told that 711 has some Pork adobo and they do have the Ube there so I wanna know what else Filipino stuff they got in there. It's been a while but I always went when I was on the go in College. And yes, I love Jollibee! I even looked up to see if they sell shirts online. Lol. The chicken sandwich is a must and I hope they have the Haupia and Taro here when you visit next time. The Thai Walls at Starbucks is good but not anything that stands out like the rest here. Hope all is well guys. And I'm about to to depart to India very soon! Have a good rest of your week! 👍🤙😋🇮🇳
Nice! I love haupia pie. I also think Jolibee has the best chicken sandwich but for some reason I dont like their fried chicken. I love their mango pie though. Cant go wrong with 7-11 but that kulolo looked sad. 😂 Have a blast in India! Dont get Dehli Belly!
Aloha Misty!! Haupia Pie is def my favorite here and I never tried the fried chicken and Mango yet from Jollibee so I'll put that on the list. The Kulolo wasn't good but only there. And.. I'm def getting a belly when we hit the markets at Delhi. I was told the food was good and cheap too so I can't wait! I look forward to your next video. 🤙😋👍
@@SeanKaleponi I hope you get a full belly in India! Delhi belly is slang for traveler's diarrhea. Kind of like Montezuma's Revenge in Mexico. 🤣 But usually it's from the tap water or ice. Don't drink anything with their ice. I'm excited to see your content from India! Safe travels.
@Food Fiend Okay good you mentioned that. Because I was about to to start the street food tour saying I want to have a delhi belly by the end of it. Lol!! Mahalo Misty🤙👍
My favorite from McDonald's is the McTeri Delux and haupia pie. But they discontinued the banana pie. They didn't bring it back for some years. I don't remember.
Aloha Fellow RU-vidr!! That's you and I both. I love me some Jollibee chicken sandwich. And Haupia is good. 😋👍🤙Please tell Do, Vin, and Bella I said hi🤙👍
Aloha Sean! My wife showed me your videos & I have to say they are both entertaining & informative. You’re the most genuine hawaii food & travel youtuber I’ve seen. The food & places you show are all nostalgic for us (my wife & I). We moved here in the mainland back in ‘04 but we try to visit the island at least every 1-2 years because we still have families there. Anyways, more power to your channel..mabuhay & mahalo!🤙🏽
Aloha Pinoy Reaper!!! I appreciate your kind words, and please tell your wife that we said hi! We try our best and glad our viewer's appreciate it. Hope your able to visit the islands more and eat at all the good places with your Ohana! Mabuhay and Aloha right back to you!:)🤙👍😋
Love your channel Brah! Keep bringing in the good content. My father and I can't stop watching your videos because we stay here in Seattle and miss the local food in Hawaii 🙂🤙🏼
Awesome Sean! The McDonald's bit was cool it is always a stop. What is it about 7-Elevens and Gas stations for really cool Hawaiian treats? Especially mochi! The best part of watching these videos with my family is that I end up watching them numerous times, it's a lot of fun! Another great video Sean! Can't wait for the next! 😃🤙
Aloha Charles!! Mahalo for always supporting our channel! And yes, we got some cool Hawaiian treats at 7 11s and our gad stations. Sometimes, I take it for granted . Please tell your Ohana we said hi!! Hope all is well!!👍🤙😋
Mine would be Musubi. Wish they bring back 7Eleven to Waikiki. I haven’t had a chance to try a 7Eleven’s Musubi and all their other goodies. Will definitely try the Haupia fried pie, I love anything coconut. Thanks Sean&Nhi 😘😘
Aloha Honu67!! Oh yeah, now that I think of it, I don't remember seeing a 711 in Waikiki. I think it's the ABC store. There used to be one right across the streetbof 24 HR Kapiolani but that's not Waikiki but close to it. The Haupia Pie is sooo good. Hope it comes back soon. Mahalo for always supporting our channel!🤙👍😋
Aloha Sean and Nhi 👋 Love these Hawaii only finds , we will be looking out for them😋 My wifey Gemma told me, she secretly reached out to both of you , hoping for you join us on a Catamaran Sunset cruise in Waikiki but you will be in India when we are on your island 🏝 We will be looking forward to your India videos of all the sights , sounds and smell of what India has to offer. When you have plans to visit Australia, namely Sydney , please reach out to us for catch up and a day trip up to our Blue Mountains and see the Three Sisters with some food stops 😋 You got to have a Meat Pie here ..Lol. Any way , you travel very soon and we arrive next Thursday , Can’t wait 😛 Cheers Rod and Gemma , Mahalo 🤙🌴🌺✈️
Aloha Rod, always good hearing from you. And yes, your wife reached out to me and I told her that I would be in India at that time. So when you said my wife told me you're going to India, I put 2 and 2 together and realized Gemma was your wife since I only told 2 ppl at that time. I wish I could join you guys for a Catamaran Sunset! And yes, India videos will be coming after our trip! And when we do make it out to Australia. I'll def let you know. I plan on going to the Blue Mountains and I wanna go to Tasmania. I still believe the Tasmanian Tiger exists:):) Enjoy your time here next week and Mahalo again for supporting us local RU-vidrs. 👍🤙
If you ever make your way up N(this way-lol)...checkout Mam's Bread & Butter, bakery that specializes in NZ meat pies! Have yet to sample her wares...and eye intend to soon! Food Fiend Hawaii did taste test about 6-8 mos.back....
@@harrymiram6621 Hi Harry , yes you got to try the Meat Pie ! It’s comfort food here in Australia if we do a road trip 😋 I did see Misty grab a meat pie and enjoy it. I put a little meat pie video on my YT channel, have a look at it. There is nothing better then covering the top with sauce and biting into it. Nearly all our bakery’s here make meat pies (some better then others) and usually have a wide variety of pies. One of my favourites if they have it , is the Pea Pie - the Pea Pie is pastry filled wth chunky meat and thick gravy with a layer of peas, covered flakey pastry.
You shoot so much b-roll in Kaneohe. It would be so great if you can review great Kaneohe restaurants. I just moved here and really can use some advice where to eat. Adela's is great.
Aloha Mirza!!! Kaneohe is beautiful and I'm born and raised here in this city. And I will do a video later with Kaneohe restaurants for sure. Please try Kin Wah!:) I love the Chinese food there🤙😋👍
Not a fan of McDonalds, but gotta admit the haupia pie, taro pie and apple pie are my favorites. 7-11 in Hawaii is da winnahʻs. I agree their spam musubi is one of the best.
Aloha Sam!! Yup, McDonalds for me was only because it was convenient but I love their Hawaii items. Esp the Haupia, Taro, and Apple Pies my favs. And you and I both when it comes to the 711 Musubis:) Mahalo for sharing 👍🤙😋
I always try to catch your vlogs, I think they are great! Seeing that your posts are mainly on Oahu, have you considered covering the other islands? I think you'll find an audience. If you are really ambitious, I think you might find an audience if you also cover some aspect of island life. For island life there are so much to cover, learning to surf, hula competitions, Hawaiian music, churches, if you can imagine it someone also wants to see it. Hawaii is more than food. At least I'll be watching and enjoying your postings! Onward to your first million subscribers!
Aloha Susana! Mahalo for watching and yes, I live on Oahu so it's mainly gonna be on Oahu unless I get rich and have a lot of vacation to vlog elsewhere and still pay my rent in Hawaii:) I use to travel all the time but now I have responsibilities, Im a husband now, etc. and we've done Kauai and our Big Island trip got canceled because of a storm. But yes, I wanna do the islands and more of the world. RU-vid doesn't pay much which is why you hardly see any Hawaii vloggers go all out because rent is high but, I like to believe we're pretty ambitious considering that we both work full time jobs and have other side gigs like Teaching and doing real estate drone work. And speaking of gigs, my gigs is what I'm passionate about. Kickboxing, self defense, drone work, but I cover hiking and food because it's 2 things people can relate and something I'm passionate about. I can't cover surf and hula because people that live and breath it can cover it instead. So I always encourage those with a passion to start a RU-vid page and cover it. So we appreciate your suggestion but there's a reason why most ppl stick to 1 min reels about their passion, instead of long format videos. It costs a lot of time and money. If that wasn't the reason, you would see more of those topics covered in a story format on YT. We are going to India next week and we'll make vlogs about that. Hope you like it🤙😋👍🇮🇳
Good episode Sean. Ever since the 80's I was told that Hawaiians are born with buffadar. I highly recommend the Oceanarium in Waikiki to start. I have personally seen many locals enjoying their grinds there. Worth the money.
Aloha Adam! It's always good hearing from you!:) I'll def check out the Oceanarium Waikiki. If they got good gridz I'll eat since I visit there once a year to see the fish. Mahalo👍🤙😋
Another great video! I was looking for the taro pie at McDonalds but it was not available anywhere, Is it just seasonal? I don't remember seeing the haupia pie last summer either. I'm hoping to try them both this summer!
Aloha Catherine!! Mahalo for watching and both the Taro and Haupia Pie are seasonal, unfortunately. Hope they make it permanent! Hope you visit soon!:)🤙😋👍
Great video. Chik-fil-e is the best chicken sandwich. Sadly i suppose you'd have to go to the mainland to get it. I like how the sauce is on the size so it doesnt get soggy. Hawaii MCD has pineapple option for their burgers since the early 90s at least, but paniolo breakfast never had spam, only portagee sausage.
Aloha Deal Man! I like Chik fil A too but maybe I'm bias and like the Jollibee mascot too much! Lol but yes, just like what TitasMom said, we have em here on Oahu and cool, didn't know that McD had the Pineapple option on the early 90s. I would like to see the history of McDonalds in Hawaii!🤙👍
7-11 here I come!!! Just came back from the 9th island and coming back home to a different planet!!! 7-11 got Walmart's idea. Instead of Made in China, it's Made with Aloha.
I just found your channel and I gotta say it’s so awesome love the videos you are awesome 👏 keep them coming I’m from Utah and I eat spam and rice all the time I absolve it I wish we had the coconut pie here
Aloha KonaEhukai! That's what I wanna know. But I do know for some reason in the other states they thought it was too u healthy from what I read but that doesn't make sense since alot of items are un healthy. I would love to have some ice cream ala mode at McDonald's 🤙😋👍
McDonald's haupia pie!!! So good!! 👍🏽👏🏽🙌🏽 Awesome video!!🤙🏽I definitely want to try 7-11's food though. Have you ever tried the food at The ABC Store, especially the one on Lewers Street in Waikiki, by the Imperial Hawaii resort? They have a kitchen in the back of the store and serve alot of hot foods. Pretty good! 👍🏽
Aloha Liz!!! Awww Mahalo for always supporting our channel! And thr Haupia Pie is soo good!:):) I know exactly where that ABC Stores on Lewers is. I'll try their hot foods next time. Thanks again friend😋🤙👍
Wait…whaaat???? We going India? Wooohoooo 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼 can’t wait!!! Brah….that was a good 7-11. I use to buy my lunch on Sundays from the store on Nimitz & Ala Kawa. Bought my 1st bottle of Amy Hanaiali’i’s merlo wine from there too. Props to the guy in line in front of you with his wines. Them ube cookies 🤤🤤🤤🤤. I have to stay away from their store in Kalihi cause dangerous. LOL. What a great video!! Can’t wait to see you guys eat in India. Be safe and have a great trip ❣️❣️❣️
Aloha Urs!! It's always great hearing from you!! I like to hear stories of the good ol days when ppl tell me what foods they had from the stores I go to know. And I gotta try wine some time. Maybe when I slow down a little more and relax!:) The Ubae products are all over Oahu now and I'm proud of the owner. We will do some India videos and hope you like them. Have a great weekend!🤙😋👍
Aloha Ann Chee!! It's always good hearing from you! And that'd you and I both when it comes to the Taro Pie!😋 And yes when it comes to 7-11. I think it's only getting bigger and bigger in Hawaii and Asia is one step ahead since they got a Restaurant style over there 7-11. Maybe that's the next step here.😋👍🤙
Sean. Thanks. Another great video. Which one do you like better? 7-11 or Musubi Cafe Musubi? Have a safe trip to India. Being an IT guy, had many trips to India. Drink water only in cans or bottles not only for your health but also for your safety. And the traffic. omg. Will be watching your old videos while you are gone. No worries. 😊
Aloha Min C!! Mahalo for watching!! And I like both but overall, 711 is better when I consider quality, convenience, and price but of course Cafe Musubi has better musubis. And yes, I will only drink water in India from the bottle for sure. I think that's cool you've been to India many times. I've always wanted to go here and I'm quite excited!! Mahalo for always supporting this channel! 👍🤙😋🇮🇳
Aloha Sean, have you try Marugame Udon yet? If you haven’t you should give it a shot! Also can you do a review on Curry house for us? They had it in the mainland, but they closed it down. My wife didn’t get a chance to try it out when we visited a month ago. Anyways thank you for your videos, we love ‘em!!
Aloha Transta!!! I haven't tried Marugame Udon since it's always busy but I heard it's good and cheap there. And we can do a Review on a Curry House in the future. Mahalo to you and your wife for watching our videos!:):)🤙😋👍
Hi! I’ve been binge watching your videos since I’ll be in Hawaii in a month! My last visit there was last November and I could of sworn I saw you at aulani. Do you still work there?
Have a great time in India! Hope you and Nhi have a wonderful time. I couldn't think of anything you didn't cover, but then read about rice at most places that serve breakfast plates, especially. McDs, and I mentioned fruit punch at McDs that I don't think is commonly served at fast food places on the mainland....but I could be wrong about that one. Maybe a Mainland subscriber can confirm this for me?
Aloha TitasMom!! I realized that I take rice for granted and didn't realize how unique it is to have it at a fast food chain. And I could never wrong about certain exclusive items so I wait to see if someone can confirm or tell me otherwise about items their place has. Anyone know about the Fruit Punch? Mahalo for always supporting our channel!:)🤙👍😋
Did you notice McDonalds in Oahu isn’t offering any more Hawaii specific items aside from the breakfast spam plate? 😢 I cannot find the haupia, taro, or guava pie anywhere and the teri burger is dunzo.
Aloha Okami!!! Bro, I got lucky with the Haupia and McTeri. I jog by McDonalds every day and usually there's a big sign saying when the item is present!!! But yeah, should be permanent bro😋👍🤙
Aloha Katrin. Zippys isn't a world chain place but originated in Hawaii and now in Vegas. And honestly, Zippys food isn't as good like before. Mahalo for watching!👍🤙😋
Hū, Sean! How you stay so slim eating all that food? Ha! Ha! So fun watching your foodie adventures around the island. At 70 years young, no way I can eat anywhere near like how you demo in your videos. Always have to pick and choose discriminately when I'm visiting home from North Baltimore. Appreciated the blurb in this episode about Jollibee, esp. because I am a great fan of any place that delivers a high quality, awesome chix sandwich. Have a fun trip to India. Why don't you do a comparison of different biriyani while you are traveling there? Could be interesting. Mahalo nui! Aloha! Robby of Maui
Aloha Robby!! I do run almost every single day! And I'm glad ppl from all generations such as yourself are watching this channel! And Jollibee is my favorite. I like the Mascot too. Lol! Gonna take some of your considerations and I appreciate you're feedback. Mahalo🤙👍😋
