Great video. I’m 60 and still love watching videos of organization. I just re organized my home again . I was 3 my mom said when I started keeping my room neat and tidy. I hate clutter. I’m at the age where I don’t want more stuff. I’ve been getting rid of certain things I don’t use anymore. I still have stuff, but not nearly as much. I’ve thinned out my stuff a lot. But my son is grown and don’t have foster kids anymore so I really don’t need a lot of stuff. Kudos to you young lady. You’re doing a great job keeping the house up. Keep up the good work

Awesome! I mean that, too many times one sees where older people are holding onto stuff because they are lonely, empty nesters, etc..... they hoard in order to fill an emotional void.... it is unhealthy and in some cases detrimental to their homes, their relationships, their physical well being and even their lives. you are doing the opposite! You have a healthy relationship with objects, if you don't need them, you get rid of them..... I know that this is a long commentary ...... It is just so nice to see someone older who has not fallen into hoarding..... I have family members who hoard and..... yeah..... it is exasperating to try and help them. i finally had to let it go and limit contact for my own peace and well being. I love watching cleaning and organizing content because it relaxes and inspires me. That means everything from a single wide mobile home, to a small house full of kids, a travel trailer, or a mansion. It doesn't make me feel obligated to purchase things, or to mirror the style, habits, activities, etc. of the people I'm watching. The differences between homes and people's different ways of doing things make me happy and keep me interested. It's not something I internalize. I don't compare myself or my circumstances to anyone else and that leaves me free to just enjoy the show so to speak.

The reason you just stated about people not watching videos is the reason I don’t watch a lot of people on Instagram anymore. All they do is try and promote stuff and buy stuff or have been given stuff for free. It can make you feel pretty lousy

Videos like this are refreshing Lynn. I’m so sick of watching videos of women pushing products they received for free and I loathe the word influencer. I’m not alone on this either, I talk to ladies who feel the same way and there are more of us now than ever before. I have a feeling if a lot more don’t follow your lead they are going to become obsolete. Makes no sense in the world we are in now to continue watching videos of things that are so far out of reach for the average homemakers budget. I don’t know why I need to clean my house with a $600 vacuum cleaner just to put money in someone else’s pocket. Nope that’s not happening. Keep motivating us my friend, motivate us to clean and organize what WE have ❤🥰

Lynn, THANK YOU for always reiterating “USE WHAT TOU HAVE” before going out and spending money on stuff. If you could see my organization bins and baskets- all accumulated over the years and repurposed multiple times- they aren’t matchy-matchy- but they are functional and have purpose. I don’t need perfect, I need order and function and things I can easily move, pull out and carry as I clean shelves or need to use and easily return to the shelf. I have dollar store to The Container Store bins/baskets, and honestly, they all work regardless of cost or name brand- so I now always lean to going to a dollar store first to check cost and inventory then doing comparison costs at other stores before I feel the need to purchase stuff like that- and sometimes a dollar store loses out to a big box store like Walmart and Target or to Amazon. Things like your coffee pods in clear containers make so much sense, but cleaning products can be in a basic white bin you can haul around. Lazy Susan’s now are so much more functional than back in my day and i especially love the high side lazy Susan’s with removable dividers; the acrylic water bottle organizer is also a favorite, I use them not just for water bottles but for our Yeti travel mugs and smoothie bottles.

I have a recommendation or caution regarding your checkbooks in a drawer in such a common use area. I was a bank/credit union manager for most of my 48 year career. It should be in a covered box if you still want it in the kitchen so not so visible or in a room that doesn’t have as much foot traffic. I have seen people have checks torn out in the middle of their checkbooks so didn’t realize it and have had their accounts wiped out and compromised. I know we think people coming into our homes are who we know and trust but sometimes the temptation is too great for some. Love your videos and how real you are.

A long time ago someone told me when going through stuff it’s better to get rid of something quickly.. because the longer you hold on to something the longer you are reminded that you wasted money on it.. so it is best just to get rid of and not think about it again.

I totally understand your message. I’m like you, I’m not a follower of how other ppl do things. I watch cleaning videos to get motivated and it doesn’t make me feel so bad because my house is messy or doesn’t have things others have. Just tonight, I notice one of my Corolla bowls had a crake on the side. They are 30 + years old and still perfectly fine. My Mom has a a set of copper bottom revere ware that is 70+ years old , mine are 30 ish years old. You don’t have to replace stuff all the time. One of my biggest money waster is buying organization bins. I want them to all match so,any time something new comes out that’s better, I want to change every bin in every drawer in my house.

The message you said is very true in my early 20s I used to follow a lot of people on social media thinking it would inspire me now later in my 20s almost 30 with 2 small kids I follow more people that inspire and motivate me and hobbies that I want to get into. For example, in my early 20s I used to follow a lot of people who worked out a lot but they already had the ideal body and now later in my 20s I ended up removing those accounts realizing the way they were doing it wasn’t realistic, but it was definitely hard to separate from that.

I love real. Too many people are fake. I’ve been decluttering and organizing for the last year and a half and it’s not because we are hoarders lol it’s because I feel like the more I declutter the more I want to declutter which leads me to reorganizing again and again. The Home Edit is where it’s at. It’s all I buy anymore. So durable and affordable.

It is just like all this labeling stuff...it works for other people, and I like to watch other people do it, but it doesn't work for me...I don't put laundry stuff in special containers or anything either...I don't have a cricket...I don't buy labels...my organization is limited to my pantry when it comes to containers, etc...that works for me...whatever someone else does works for them...I put airtight containers in my pantry because we have yearly issues with mice up north in PA...but the mice don't eat my tide pods like millennials did... 😂...

Note everyone again....don't let your hubby load dishwasher, see, we have to do everything, I'm literally putting all back into dishwasher for another wash, think he actually forgot to put tab in😩🤷‍♀️🤯yep a few mins later, he couldn't find the pods for dishwasher so he just put on highest heat last night....give me strength

Your so right, beginning to think Instagram and FB is a load of bull, seriously, I think we real people can do better ourselves, I don't even get time to Hoover ahhh terrible, two boys, school, and working now myself ahhh I went to bed yesterday at 8pm after a bath, I felt dizzy couldn't face doing any cleaning, going to fill dishwasher now, just too tired, not perfect as you said, weekends just laundry, just want school clothes and boxers and that sorted for week😅

You have to recognize when someone does these things you mention, like cutting the sandwiches, "that's doing too much"...that sandwich is gonna taste the same either way and to do all that cutting off wastes the rest of the sandwich because more than likely all that extra sandwich is going in the trash and could be feeding your kid instead of you know what I mean...it is just like how I told you on Instagram, everything is about perspective...if your family is getting nutrients in their food and not starving, got a clean roof over their head, etc, you are being a good momma...you don't have to do all these wasteful fancy stuff, even if it is just time waste...as long as you are getting it done the best you can, it is nobody's business and everything else is trivial silliness...if you want to cut your kids sandwich up, do it...but don't beat yourself up because if you don't... don't be so harsh on yourself...

Note to everyone, when you see these perfect pics on social media where they are completely perfect makeup and are probably filtered, look in the background.... overflowing disgusting bin....sink filled up to the top dirty dishes, they look fabulous but their house is disgusting mess really....crawling with god knows what😆
