Hi guys, what amazing restaurant firstly. I’m really sorry I couldn’t tell you the price as I asked the owners to recommend dishes for me and they refused to let me pay. So mr & Mrs Shindi thank you. The massala dosa was £5.99 & the thali was £9.75. Hope this helps this amazing establishment
@@jshaw4757 Latif asked then corrected himself - the chef used 'normal oil' and specifical not ghee... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5kvsgbmcvyw.html
I grew up on the Barking road round the corner and the food is fantastic all round there. I'm an honorary Essex boy now but i still venture down upton park for the food 😋
Really nice feature going into an area an exploring a little. The great part about this discovering fantastic food which for good value. You should take in other London locations that are not so we'll known and uncover some hidden gems
Just found your channel today and chuffed that you were in Green Street, that’s my wife’s area and my in-laws all live there too (we live about five miles up the road). Great to see a behind the scenes view of some of the places, Shindes is quite new, previously the main veg place on Green Street was Vijays. High Street North in East Ham has a higher of concentrate of veggie restaurants, two really well known ones are opposite each other (Saravanaa Bhavan and Taste if India). Excellent video and thanks for posting up : )
There’s nothing more delicious than fresh Masala Dosa and a bowl of Sambar! The Pani Puri looked gorgeous too. Great video, and a treat to see all meat free... more of the same, please!
08:25 Custard Apples. Wolfed a load of those today. Massala Dosa is what we call Tokyo's but they can't understand the idea of chutney here, fermented fish sauce is the main player. Love the documentary, hope Maruf got some food. :-)
Lots of love to ya!! You are absolutely brilliant and defined the word “chef “. I have worked in the culinary arts for years. I’m glad to see your recipes/ formulas from across the pond. You have nothing but respect and love from me. You rock solid. No doubt in my mind. Thanks 🙏. Every day is a adventure. I’ll buckle up because I know I’m on a bumpy and educational ride!!🤣😂
Always love watching you work fantastic videos a real pro and such a humble fantastic personality with a lovely smooth presenting..mashallah you always say Bismillah before you eat. Love it Brother... Respect
I can't get over the fact those pani puri in the beginning are £2! Proper authentic stuff and so cheap. That sort of thing would probably be sold for close to a fiver or even more at one of those gentrified "street food" markets in Brixton or Shoreditch.
Thanks for your upload. I do wish we had these kind of restaurants in Sweden. We can´t travel to India, or any other country it seems, this year, so we just have to watch amazing dishes, made by great chefs. And just wait....and keep longing.
I managed to pop into this place (shindes) today after watching your review a few months ago. Food was good and the service was swift. Pav bhaji was amazing, simple dish but tasty. ❤
Love your videos but this was superb!!! Here in Salvador, there are no Indian restaurants, as yet! I remember the fantastic dosas I ate in Euston Square. Thank you so much. Going to try to make this dosa.
Latif is in my area! Welcome to Green Street, hope you had a wonderful time. I grew up in Boleyn Road, just opposite Shaftsbury Ave, where you parked the car. You'll have to come back again some time, There are so many more restaurants to try. Love your channel, really helped my cooking and easy to follow. You have great charisma~!
From food maker to food reviewer. WTG! But I reckon these vids should be on the vlog channel. Latif Inspired should about what you make, show, tell, about your style of food and tips.
Latif . I can see you getting into this curry tour as you are getting as wide as you are tall 😁😁😁 only pulling your leg mate, that curry in front of you looks great & keep up the good work
Love the videos can i recommend a hidden jem its a persian restaurant called ariana in mile end east london its the go to for us locals top notch food you have try the lamb shank qabuli pilau they do its delicious.
lovely - used to go to a little South Indian place when I worked in London years ago similar - loved the Dosas (and Idlis? and some kind of coconut buns)
@@jshaw4757 that's you I guess, I like the taste of the meat/fish and the seasonings/spices are there to compliment it's flavour. I also like the taste of different vegetables too for it's own flavour and not what it's seasoned with like spinach for example. Saying meat has no flavour of its own is ignoring all the different compounds and textures in the meat, and the chemical reactions when cooking it which creates further flavour. You also said something about texture, that's actually very important in food as it's very difficult to replicate texture of muscle fibers
That is a nice shopping street, I would definately enjoy going there. Love dosas and that one is just the ticket. I have tried the Pakistani "Chosa" and "Sindri" mango varieties in Dubai, and they are as sweet as honey.
The food looks great and especially for that price and being able to cater to different dietary requests. I guess it is because you are a chef and restaurateur yourself, but you always have good comments about cost performance and so on. 2 pounds for that kebab wrap is a bargain too. I like how you even talked about what the parking costs up top. I will probably never be round that way in my life, it is a long way from Japan where I live now, but that little touch of information was great. I probably sound really miserly but if someone was actually going to check the restaurant out, that is the kind of stuff you need to know! I like that you include it as part of the overall experience. Another great video! Also, stop touching that guys fruit!
Brilliant video my friend if you are around east London again I highly recommend Taste of India (non veg) on high street north lovely authentic indian cuisine. Keep up the good work hope the mangos were juicey
@@LatifsInspired The Taste Of India is worth a visit, it's in East Ham about a 5 minute drive from Green Street. I'm seeing my mum tomorrow so I'll post you the other ones in Green Street that she goes to. Love your channel and making some of your recipes.
@@LatifsInspired I've not been up that way for almost twenty years, but every other shop is an eatery or a jewellers. ;o) Someone else in the comments gives a list of places to try. I was working there for a couple of weeks, and didn't even get through them all. Heaven on Earth. Not many decent curry houses down my way.
There’s fried paneer cubes there so im guessing it’s for all their paneer gravy dishes , cream and butter is always used to make paneer butter masala , a vegan wouldn’t be ordering paneer anyway
@@P1111-e9g i feel you don't know what vegan/vegetarian dishes consist of. Any diary is against vegan/vegetarian as it is milk being used and taken from a cow therefore not vegan/vegetarian. I was only asking as latif said that the resturant is a vegan/vegetarian resturant. If that is the case then they should not be using any cow milk products
rici786 it’s a vegetarian restaurant with vegan options 😒 I think you should research the difference between vegan and vegetarian they are not the same , there are many types of vegetarians , lacto vegetarian, Ovo vegetarian , lacto-ovo vegetarian. They do not claim to be a vegan restaurant or brand themselves as one .. they have separate vegan friendly items which are free of all animal products just like other restaurants such as las iguana who also have a separate vegan menu. Not all vegetarians exclude dairy from their diet , when Indian restaurants say pure vegetarian it means no non veg and no eggs , hence why you will still see paneer dishes and samosa chaats on their menus. The station was clearly set up for paneer dishes 🙄
Hi Latif. I started watching your videos because they reflected what I wanted to eat based on my experience in curry houses. Lately, I have seen fish and pigeon which I would. not eat personally. I know that's personal choice though. However, reviewing and effectively promoting one destination in a city with which I have no contact is meaningless to me. Are you changing your focus now?
Simon Blume Have a look back through some of his older vids, there’s a Channa Masala recipe from a few months ago. I thought I made a decent one, but Latif’s is absolutely delicious and has fast become my go to recipe!
Hi please don't take this the wrong way; I thought when eating 'indian' food you were only meant to use your right hand, and when I do that I end up with curry on my fingers, but I notice that you use your right hand to put the food in your mouth but you also use your left hand to assist movin the food around - which seems to be much easier than me sitting on my left hand and only using my right hand so as not to cause offence. Have I been doing it wrong all of this time?
