Right, should have kept her ult deal 200 dmg at max, like it was all the time before HP buffs, doesnt matter that everybody walks out of it like nothing happened and doesn't matter you risk more than you get out of ult (lose more health than you deal damage) And Dvas ult is very fair in comparison, deals only 1000 damage remotely and at only multiple times wider range. Fr fr why u buffing orisa AGAIN?
@@Frogga_UFOOrisas strength is not in her ult and that’s fine. It’s ok for a character to be good or even broken in every aspect but their ult, it helps balance the character. Bitching about her ult just exposed you as a bronze player like Flats addressed in this video lmao
@@inherentlyflawed no my friend im not bronze, im Orisa OTP in grandmasters. And if i wasnt Orisa otp from the day i started playing OW2, i wouldn't even touch her. Why? Because almost all tanks are better than Orisa. Shes not busted "in every way". Shield are way better for the team than her selfish fortify, almost any tank weapon is better than hers for doing things that tanks are supposed to be doing. Playing almost any tank is easier and more pleasing than playing Orisa, because you can ONLY get the value from orisa by landing your shots and spears PERFECTLY ALL THE TIME, which is really frustrating. No mobility means you have to care about/ waste your time on getting to high grounds. Bad ult means you dont have a special game-changing button, which again means you have to put more effort in your game and get as much value as you can from your aim alone. Judging by the things you said you are the bronze.
@@ZaWrldo non of that makes her a good tank to WIN games on. Sure shes good, but even if shes moira of tanks, that wont make her better than other tanks in higher ranks. In lower ranks where people constantly waste their CDs on nothing Orisa might be good, but in higher ranks her kit, which is purely based around sustainability, just isnt very useful to win games. Simple as that. Other tanks have much more useful abilities, the ones that actually help entire team. In higher ranks you dont win games just because you have 1 glued up guy on orisa, you need a whole team for that.
He’s still gonna be ass. The firestrike still can’t two tap so it’s still worse than s8. And he basically just got the health buff that orisa and dva already got for s9 😂. When he needed it more to begin with
the actual biggest buff in this patch was flats unlocking the ability to do a hard Boston accent. Edit: It seems like at the time of recording, Blizzard forgot a change! Bap's immortality field now leaves people at 20% health minimum instead of 25%.
overwatch devs challenge dont buff anything "because there is already too much dmg in the game and they needed to correct it with HP buffs" impossible. See ya in 1 year to the next HP buffs
@@PhatBastard4677 imagine buffing the worst performing hero, go cry in the shower that you got spawncamped by a hero with the worst win rate of the game.
@NoitNoit-ef2yq Ok? She is still widely regarded as one of the better DPS this season. Across the entire roster she is better than characters like Illari Mercy & Rein yet they all have much higher winrates than Sombra. Winrates don't mean shit. (Tbf tho bias definitely present as a Ball main)
The problem is he is still horrible and for some reason they decide to buff other tanks even though they are in much better situation, especially Orisa. They just need to nerf her so that virgin Orisa, Bastion, Zen trio will be at least bit more playable against.
if its not 6v6 im not interested. balancing around one tank doesn't work. we have balanced every hero now full circle and it didn't work. 5v5 doesn't work
@@hayven3494 Its because the tank role itself is terrible, so theyre buffing tanks in general to help lol Edit: Within the tank role, rein is terrible. Outside of the tank role just talking about the 3 roles in general terms, the tank role is terrible. Hence so many buffs with no nerfs to tanks.
To be fair, from what I see (don't play much OW anymore), the DPS passive + global hitbox and hp/armor/shield changes have mixed up the meta significantly. Now they are in the process of fine tuning it again, so I would expect this amount of volatility in the tier lists, as overbuffed characters get nerfed and underperforming characters get buffed.
Why are people happy abt the rein buff, it’s clearly not enough, 25 more armor and 20 more damage to firestrikes is practically nothing and doesn’t do anything for why he is bad rn
Flats is just smoking on the PTSD zaza regarding Brig changes tbh. If Brig got +Armor HP as a buff, then I would be more inclined to agree... Otherwise, Brig is going to get bullied/singled out easily by what she used to at least been able to fend off to some extent with the new buff to Sombra's Impact damage and Symm's overall buff. However, at least Brig can catch up with healing a bit if Brig is restricted from dealing damage due to spam, shields, or strong poke or whatnot. Also THE TURRETS NOT APPLYING THE DEBUFF!? Now it is spooky times cuz Torb was already overtuned before S9.
I think it comes from more of a teamplay comp mindset where it's always a play, if you're just a solo brig I'm either killing you or watching you die repeatedly or hell I'm dying repeatedly struggling to keep anyone alive before switching to a real hero. I kinda feel the same about his tracer pick for s+ because he encouraged me to turn my brain off but I remembered you're not a threat just annoying.
@@TeenWeedMcGee Even with a team comp, I sadly seem to not successfully defend my other allies from flankers despite landing said moves to fend them off (unless it is a Sombra cuz console camera movement is just dogwater). I believe it is more to the health increase that it makes the flankers no longer feel they are at risk at feeding by death since it takes a bit longer to KO someone as a non-DPS hero... Thus the logic with Sombra especially since she can linger just enough to widdle down a Brig and leave her to die to Virus DoT, even more quickly too cuz of impact damage increase of Virus since TTK for a Brig to fend off/deal with a enemy has increased by 1 swing.
He is even wrong about release Brig, lots of the stuff he claims have never been in the game. She clearly needs a buff to either damage or survivability, and she will get it enevtually since her numbers are garbage. And she should, since the game is not just about what streamers play.
The reason for Orisa buff is simply to kill a full hp squishy in the same time it took before season 9. 25% more life to everyone, 25% more damage on the ultimate.
The rein buff is wild, I've never stopped playing my boy but now Im gonna feel so much better when I just snipe someone from across the map with fire strike
@@EnderFPS I am gold, good guess, but I was really saying it as a joke, I don't just fire strike widows lol, though in qp we do have a little bit more fun
Don't forget that they increased ultimate costs globally %10 so reducing them for %8 is still more charge needed. Brig and Sombra can't charge faster since new projectile size increase doesn't help that much.
When they said something about Mercy feeling better to play, I was expecting some sort of buff for her. Some of the changes they added were unneeded (some of the Sombra changes; Torb too imo). I don’t see how this patch will make Mercy feel better to play, but then again I haven’t played for myself so I can’t say for sure.
She got double affected by the dps passive. Her passive causes her to get healed a portion of what she heals others, if the person she is healing was afflicted by the dps passive, her selfheal would also be lowered. If she then as well was afflicted by the dps passive, her selfheal would be a portion of the already decreased selfheal. Basically, earlier the dps passive decreased her selfheal by 36%. Now it is decreased by ~28%.
@@edvinwester8064 Her self heal was increase from 25% to 40% pre-emptively as S9 launched. I did the math, and when both Mercy and her target were debuffed, the self healing was only slightly bellow where is was before S9.
20:25 yes Brig needed buff (300hp shield and 80 whip would have been better tho) she has a 48%wr across all rank will around 1% pickrate. She was basically only playable against certain teamcomp and still losing against them. Flats and Samito are still scared of the ow1 Brig, but tell me 1 time were Brig was actually anoying. I never saw any1 say "oh no they have a Brig" especially in s9. I play supp and dps to gm lvl tank master (bcs i don't play enought of them) and i can say even whil being on dive, after the s9 change i'm not scared of her on tracer (no more one shot combo) neither on winston. EDIT : also when did you ever see a dive meta with no Brig? She needed buff
Crazy how over the top he is about any brig buff being the end of dive like she wasn't mid for every other situation that wasn't dive. Also Winston still shuts her down pretty easily.
he still feels ass because still wayyy to much cc in the game and no protection. He is just good because he survives and that alone doesnt matter at all in masters and below. Also why ana buffs? cant this character be bad for at least one season? Let there playerbase feel what a bad character rly means
Wait, the mauga buff is gonna indirectly buff echo because i don't think additional health scales with her forms, so she's gonna be able to go to 450 health AND use cardiac overdrive to sustain it
I love how a few seasons ago they said they would take away the strength from sym and torb from their turrets to their actual gameplay and now they have the buffs they got those seasons ago PLUS stronger turrets than what they had back then
Torbs turrent just got it's dmg scalled to the s8 values. It still has less hp and longer cooldows, while torbs primary fire is still weak since they nerfed it's fire rate. Sym did get overall buffs tho.
Imo it would be better if DPS passive was a build up. It's dumb that you get hit by tracer pellet not directed at you and bam. -15% heal. I think if passive was working something like sojourn rail gun (1 hit = 0,x% hp reduction(cap at 20 let's say) it would be impactful but not hilariously op
"The vortex is low-key kind of useless" Flats my guy, vortex is very useful. It's not the strongest ability of all time but it's an incredibly useful tool for a number of situations and it's very important to be using vortex effectively to get good value as rammatra. Vortex behind somebody trying to retreat allowing you or your team to laser headshot them super easily and kill them Vortex on their support that you're about to push so they can't easily disengage and so your shots are much easier to hit (both void accel and punch) Vortex on someone being aggressive making it easier to focus fire and push them out or just slow them down enough they can't continue their push.
My boy rein finaly got his long overdue buff! also i still want rein to able to fight how Baldrech in the honor trailer as a new ult. just swing around 2 huge hammers and useing his jet for more movement.
Nerf barrier to 1500 health Make blocking 300 damage give you 20% damage resist when you put down your shield for a few seconds Nerf fire strike to 90 damage but give it a burn effect
Brig should be better against Dive than Lucio. That's her whole hero identity, to be able to peel for the backline and be the anti-dive. Like you said, the only reason she wasn't played before was that Lucio was better, but if they are not willing to nerf Lucio, then yes, Brig will be buffed instead.
@@minhocho5487 sorry for delay. You are totally correct it is stronger, I was just meaning in general I like the idea of it being weaker but with more frequency. It somewhat feels like his existence requires the ability to survive, but it can be annoying to play against as well.
Dive across the board (not just one random dive hero) was strong for quite literally a couple weeks for the first time EVER in ow2, and immediately they buff every braindead possible hero all in one patch.
For the Sombra changes, do note that the virus damage doubles on hacked targets. It's now 50 impact damage plus the 100 over 2 seconds on hacked enemies. Makes hacking someone a bit more enticing as you were usually better off just throwing the virus and shooting before this patch. I tried using translocator on a glass rail on New Queen Street and it still didn't break. So that's not consistent.
If vortex needed a buff they should have lowered the damage and raised the height so ram could actually pull people out of the sky like people thought he could when he was first teased
It's so weird to see these small looking changes and have Flats in the corner going "THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!" Like damn, Torb turret does 2 more damage? Pack it up, folks. Torb is meta now.
@@Gabriel-nv3ib not true even if they don't buy the skin they test the chances that they buy a different skin is likely since they would be looking for a skin for said character
Brig: gets a slight buff Flats: starts seething. Brig is trash this season. She can't do her only job, which is anti dive. Tracer, sombra, Doom, even Genji kicks Brigs ass. Not only that, half of the supports blow this season. Ana, Brig, Illari, Mercy, and lifeweaver. Crazy that he says Brig is good. I watch his streams and others. I hardly see Brig or the other supports I mentioned. Holyshiftkid and mace2theface are struggling to keep up, and those are one tricks for Brig. Flats, you're suffering from PTSD. Let it go, my guy.
I did the math, lifeweavers latest "buff" actually reduces his healing per second by 0.621% lmao. Probably never going to stop complaining about Lifeweaver as they'll never put him in a good place. Also his new buff is completely worthless. Here's a giant list of buffs they could give lifeweaver but they won't cause they have some kind of vendetta against us: 1. Provide him with a "weakness poison" that is applied by his thorn volley that reduces the targets DPS by +-20% for a few seconds 2. When he holds his heal then cancels it (including aiming it at someone with full HP) he retains the ammo and the charge so he can "precharge" his heals and swap to DPS without the current massive time it takes to charge your heals again 3. (Very minor) Don't automatically reload his ammo when he runs out of damage munitions, only if he runs out of heals. It's really dumb being locked out of your heals because you chose to DPS 4. Make it so his petal platform is intangible to enemies (but not their DPS). it's insanely dumb that he provides utility to the enemy team if he's not constantly micromanaging his petal platform. 5. At long ranges (where it's optimal for LW to play) his heal travel time is SUPER SLOW. Buff his healing travel time especially because it still takes time for his heal to apply even after it hits the player 6. Allow him to toggle an auto-pull for teamates who are crit. 7. Make his pull invulnerability instant. It's dumb that I can pull a teamate and they die before the bubble comes out 8. FIX HIS F**KING PETAL PLATFORM. I've died so many times to or just been annoyed by the petal platform getting stuck in the floor or barely getting stuck under a tiny ledge on the wall. If the petal platform cannot be stepped on or cannot travel vertically more than half it's distance then when it lands delete the platform and refund the cooldown. 9. Provide him with some kind of group heal. other group healers like Lucio and Moira can both DRAMATICALLY out DPS him but also outheal him despite him being framed as a "heal bot" because they can heal multiple targets. 10. (MINOR buff but major quality of life) If his heals are fully charged and he is aiming at a teamate that is not full health automatially dispense his heals. It's really annoying that his ammo efficiency is dramatically reduced because you have to play a stupid timing game of trying to release frame perfect on 70% otherwise you're wasting heals 11. Reduce his pull cooldown if he pulls a target that is not crit. This would allow him to help his teammates reposition without wasting his most valuable cooldown leaving him unable to save his teammates for a long period of time. 12. (Quality of life) Allow him and his teammates to see his petal platform through walls to find a quick escape or be aware of easy access to highground 13. Rework his ultimate. Ideas include: a. reducing the lifespan of his tree but also reducing the ultimate cost b. Allow LifeWeaver only to walk through and into his tree for invulnerability (but he cannot DPS while inside) Like a worse zen ult but he can't move (unless he leaves the tree) so not OP c. Roots come out of the ground from the tree and connect to all players inside it's radius and they pool their health. Kind of like how trees share nutrients with each other 14. Allow lifeweaver to heal players through his petal platform (but not DPS) Trying to heal people under your platform is a MASSIVE pain in the a** 15. (quality of life) Sometimes I accidentally screw over my teamates as they pop their ults or in other scenarios by pulling them. Allow teamates to disable being pulled or add some kind of additional conditions where people can't be pulled so this doesn't happen 16. (Quality of life) allow lifeweaver to use his rejuvinating dash in place if he isn't holding a direction. It's really annoying that if you use rejuvinating dash on top of a petal platform it kicks you off and you often die. 17. Allow him to place down his petal platform vertically and use it as a shield instead 18. Buff his heals to compensate for the DPS buff, as I said before his heals really aren't that good for a "heal bot" especially not enough to compensate for his complete lack of DPS 19. (quality of life) don't allow lifeweaver to pull teammates directly over a pit unless they can fly to prevent trolling. maybe this would be a bad thing in some incredibly niche edge case scenarios but it seems like mostly a great thing 20. Allow lifeweaver to pull teammates through walls, this would be especially helpful when teamates get booped and you don't have time to respond before they fall over the lip of the cliff. Alternatively implement the autopull thing and allow LW to autopull people who get booped over a pit (triggering before they break LOS) even if they're not crit 21. (most important buff) make a shirtless lifeweaver skin to distract his opponents Obviously some of these ideas are more extreme than others but I think it illustrates some good ideas and the fact that they are willing to take 0 risks on a character with one of the lowest win rates is absolutely obnoxious
Hot take rams vortex is one of the most slept on abilities in the game and a reduction in its cooldown is a much bigger buff than you might think. The damage doesn’t really matter but the best part of the ability is the slow which allows you to chase very effectively in nemesis and also allows much more consistent staff damage (which has also been getting trickle buffs) I think vortex being available more often will allow him to be a much more serious mid range threat in omnivore form
I know people here are thinking “rein buffs holy shit!” But these are so minimal it’s not funny. Extra damage is always good but you still don’t have a consistent 2 shot kill with firestrike being 240 if you hit both. And 25 extra armor is good but his base health needs to be replaced with more armor tbh. I wish they buffed charge to be more like mauga but that’s whatever. The best change they could do that nobody thinks of is removing the movement penalty while shielding
I think just giving him movement speed in general would help since there's so much movement people can get out of his swing range so easily and he's so damn slow
I think they actually want brawl to take over dive. doom will still be good, but with the brig buff I think it'll balance out, but almost every brawl tank got buffed and with lucio being good this seems like a brawl meta
Even then dive will still be one if not the top meta. People act like after a patch, it's absolutely useless. Like nah bro you can still dominate games with that strat.
@@Gabriel-nv3ib i never said it'll be useless, dive will never be useless. in Asia It's almost always the meta in top 500. probably just not the top meta since brig got buffed and Lucio is good.
im gunna say it, in the lower ranks rein actually hasn't been THAT big of an issue lately, thats probably why rein is finally getting some well deserved love. idk about bronze or silver, but gold above has been fairly rein free. another thing about stacking, is its already pretty easy to tell whos stacking since you can just invite the players to a group and regardless of the outcome the enemy wont actually get the invite, but depending on what it says COMPLETELY tells you if they are grouped or not.
I honestly think this patch is the closest we've been to balance for a long time. The devs are listening. They even incorporated an indicator for the DPS passive.
Its so funny hearing Flats say the damage passive being nerfed is good cuz DPS is killing him on cooldown while former pro players Surefour is saying the complete opposite and that he is never gonna be able to kill again. Now all we need is a support main to join in on the role bias debate
I just had a "Demotion Protection" game last night. It left the progress bar just a small amount away from the rank below. I won the next game but gained little to no SR from the win.
that Sombra buff is massively OP. Especially the translocator. So basically my junk trap is becoming useless. BC now she can break out of it? :( And... still no junkrat love. Or buffs. SMDH. :(
Breakables aren't deployables. It's not talking about the translocator being able to destroy traps or turrets or anything like that, only things that start on the map like destructible fences and boxes.
The comment made during the “Demotion Protection” section about only seeing the bar go down 3% after a loss, but at the end of the *next* match, you see where the other 17% was lost before seeing the next change, is spot on. I also noticed this and initially it made me feel like there was some demotion protection. But, it is not related to “demotion protection” but just *bad* UI. I totally agree, when the progress bar goes lower or higher than the displayed rank progress, it should move to the other rank’s progress bar and show the rest of the progression/regression.
Yeah I saw that and was already unhappy about it but then I did the math If you add all 3 turrets she does more damage than mauga with both chain guns on you And let's not ignore the fact she still has the DPS passive so if you decide to push a sym just remember she hurts more than mauga So if you wouldn't push him don't push sym 😂
Pretty much is just with upgrades as well and I've been having fun with it Especially when ow gets stressful playing a game or two of normal or hard gauntlet definitely helps to remove some of the tension
ngl I had a weird change to rein I thought would be fun, which was the thing Mauga has when charging how stuns don't work against him. I think it'd make him being a melee character a lot more fun and aggressive, but then again I'm not a dev nor do I know how to balance characters.
recently started playing a lot more tank and honestly orisa's like dangerously close to broken, i agree w you there. her and doom are my last resorts if i'm getting rocked in tank fights.
Okay hear me out, I know you hate Orisa BUT Ults... Ults need to feel satisfying, man. I honestly wouldn't mind taking a nerf somewhere else if it meant Orisa's Ult can be made more reliable. There are too many times where I've sat there waiting to get a decent amount of damage built up and everyone has already peace'd out of the radius or fuckin Sombra HACKS me. It's so frustrating
Everytime i get reminded flats is from new england i get jumpscared cause i feel like hes gonna pop up at my work one day somehow cause i work at dunks and there was on video he mentioned dunks and i had a whole war flashback
My personal takes from this: i dont think Rein moves much if at all, Mauga still sucks, Hanzo still needs to get rebuffed to 1 shot 250 hp targets since the HP increases came in, why tf are we buff Sym turret HP no one wants to waste time shooting turrets and even back when they had 1 HP you still had to divert your attention to them thus making them take longer to destroy just makes them even more annoying
i feel like these are the changes that we expected to see when everyone got more health we tough all people would go up a little in damage to stay relevant.
With the DPS passive and The nerf to repair packs max range i dont think repair pack is going to be too bad but the ult cost def didnt need to go down bc she will be healing more
Community: Hey great patch guys we got a really good dive meta and a lot of diversity, while tank still gets fucked we know your working out the kinks. Blizzard: thanks guy we hoped you’d enjoy that patch as we worked out asses off to fix the game. I’m take a well deserved rest. (Proceeds to pass out so hard they died) That one poor soul: Well I just wanted to personally thank you guys for making my main playable again as he hasn’t been good for many years at this point. Blizzard: (🛌 💤) That one poor soul: for once in my life playing Genji doesn’t feel like wiping your ass with sandpaper. Blizzard: Real shit. (Proceeds to biblically nuke dive meta so hard it looks like revelations, and single handedly send Genji mains to the shadow realm)
When are they gonna listen to mains about what their heroes need. Sym didn't need a primary buff, she needed a secondary buff. I don't mind the turret changes... if they nerfed the slow. And tp seriously needed help. If the mess with the duration, they mess with the cooldown, which imo would be an inherent nerf. I also think Illari needs a minor pylon buff, like make it 35 hp per burst, or speed up the fire rate a little, and LW really needs the charge time reverted. He still feels like he doesn't heal enough. I want the Illari change because 30 every .8 seconds isn't enough for a 250 hp hero. Even if you use it just for yourself while off angling. Another buff I'd like to see if they didn't do this is either higher movement speed or duration and slightly higher verticality on her jump. Illari would be very good rn... If she had survivability.
