I see that the input is 16-60v/10a... Will this work with a single 12 volt solar panel or do you need multiple in series to increase voltage over 16v?

Boom. Exactly what I needed four out little off-grid cabin. THANKS again for your review and for taking the time to answer my questions. I got the 2400wh model and 6 BOUGERV 170w Solar Panels. Doing 2 groups of 3 in series and then in parallel gives me exactly 67.3 volts to the input as long as I use 60 foot of cable. I just tested it on a super sunny day here so I'm sure I may have to play around with it a bit more when I have my final setup but I'm pleased. Now we will rarely have to run our gas generator at the cabin as we rarely go over 1000W. Thanks again.

Thank you for your clear teaching ability and numerous excellent video blogs. I just received my 2400wh MAXOAK bluetti EB240 power station along with two 1000 wh Jackery power stations and two Jackery solar panels. I also have the smallest Jackery... I think I may be ready for the yearly power outages that happens at my Mojave Desert home. I'm 83 and the bluetti EB IS a bit heavy to be moving around very much, but in my case it will be positioned in my kitchen neatly tucked under a pantry shelf waiting for the routine Southern California Edison power to go off--usually when the temp. outside is over 110. I love all these power stations... what great advancements in technology ! Thank you once more Mr. Hobo Tech. Your recommendations are so very much appreciated.

Hi David! Since you live in similar weather conditions (I live & work in Las Vegas), what are you using for air conditioning and what (and how many) solar panels are you using with your Bluetti 2400wh? I'm 66 and last October ended up with a Pacemaker, and I still teach full time. But the summer heat (yesterday it registered 119 degrees on my thermometer!!!) has become a bit too much. I've only had 2 power outages by NV Energy here this season. Thank you!

I own one of these and have been powering my full-size, side-by-side Fridgidaire refrigerator off of it for over a week (supplying 700w of solar). Max overnight use goes from 5 bars to 3 so it should easily be able to run an extra day with no solar available. I live in Houston so we have hurricanes and this is a concern. One thing that DOES bug me is that if the AC is left on overnight (aforementioned fridge) and the sun comes up the next day, the MPPT seems to only charge at half-rate even with full solar (!). I have to power the unit completely down, unplug the solar input, plug it back in and power it back up and it will use the full juice off the solar. Not sure what is going on but very frustrating MPPT operation for continuous use. Keep up the great videos!

D D: I ordered one too. I think my arrival date is a little further out than yours. Also, I wanted to order the Jackery 100W panels, but when I placed my order for the MaxOak, the only type of panels that were left were the Rockpals 80W. I had hoped to hook them up (4 of them) in series, I guess, to get 320Watts, but now I don't know if I can hook more than two of the Rockpals together in parallel. Hope you enjoy your battery when it arrives!

My EB240 is still going strong, and I'm always nodding in understanding when you bring the ugly blue box out while testing other modern panels and generators. A solid workhorse. @rgbii2
@rgbii2 4 года назад
If you get 56 watts from one, and two still only gives you 56 watts, it's probably not your panels that's limiting it, but the load. As far as connecting parallel vs series connections, a quick google should bring up some diagrams for each.

Bluetti HATES single solar panels (remember the 16 volt minimum limit ... it's more like 18v for MPPT to kick in). You need to have at least 2 in series for proper charging. Parallel when you want to add pairs of panels to that.

Hi, great video as usual! Would you say that the EB240 is suitable to be connected to solar panels that are on the roof of campervan so that it can charge via solar when driving and is it safe to have it constantly connect to the solar panels for full time van life or is it better suited to just solar charging when the van is stationary? I'm asking because the connector that runs the solar into the EB240 doesn't look very sturdy so i wonder if it might unplug itself while driving? Thanks for any help!

I just got a 6300watt power station (craftsman Generator) with a 9100 watt surge I got it used for $300 added $50 in parts and tune up . It runs about 8 hours at full load on a tank of fuel. Total investment $350 It's heavy but has wheels. I can recharge the fuel tank in about 5 minutes

That's one way to guarantee social distancing up to a half mile! So about 8 gallons gas / day for a week camping = 56 gallons @ $2/gal = >$100 + $1.99 for a bag of earplugs + cost of a chiropractor afterwards. Quite the bargain!

@@HOBOTECH Actually For camping I use the Sportsman you recommended and I purchased for $149 at Home Depot. Love that thing, this 6300 watt monster is for running the entire house And I have done the most I can to quiet it down. It lives outside about 30 feet from the house , with doors closed it's not bad at all .

Thanks much. 3 Renogy 100 watt rigid panels used to go over 67.5 open circuit voltage, but 3 new version Renogy panels are under 67.3, FYI. And 300 watts is sufficient power for 2400 daily watt hours IMO (in Southern California near the ocean.) The new Bluetttis take more voltage and have higher inverter output. I run a Commercial Chef microwave on full blast on my 2400, which is just under 1000 watts on full blast. I have to flip off my dedicated power strip to my mini fridge when I max the Bluetti out with the microwave.

Hi professor, thanks for being so professional and thanks for this rewiev. Im going to get something like this later or but for now im going in another direction. Ive been living in a camper 2 years, loved it, moved back to apartment, dont like it so im moving back , this time into a van. Situation: I live in a city with charging possibilities all around in public places like restaurants, librarys and cafee shops. Also I work at a gym that i have acces to a 24 hours and at care centers where i sometimes work over night, so charging through wall wont be a problem, therefore i wont go for solar panels (that can be ripped of the van and giving tip of to burglers) - instead im looking for a small portable powehouse that i can easily put in my bag ( witch i cary around anyway) and that will fill my needs. My needs are: to be able to, in one charge, at least be able to charge my phone and run my laptop for 10 + hours, im also going to use the powerhouse for lights and maybe a little fan at night. For me, fast charging and light weight is the most important issue since my plan is to cary that thing with me every second/third day or so. To be able to charge fast ( around 3-4 hours) and then stay online for 2-3 days on one charge would be awesome, cuz im kind of fed up allready having to stay at the restaurant for around 1 hour to charge my phone and laptop, i couldnt possible stay 6 hours lol, and i dont wanna be at the gym "all the time "! =D So im not using fridge, AC, TV and stuff like that, only phone, lights and laptop - what would be your recomandation? Thnk you - Don Gabo in Sweden

I purchased the 2400wh Bluetti based on your review. I had been watching a lot of reviews and found yours most helpful. Your discount on Amaz was $95 dollars. That was helpful. I also used your discount on the 170W solar panels from BougeRV . These I ordered directly from Bouge RV and saved approx $100 dollars on 3 units. We are using this as a back up for a power outage. We plan to attach the solar panels to our roof and store the bluetti in the house until we need it. Not hooked up yet. Waiting on the solar panels still. O K, so here is the question, , , How do you protect the Bluetti and the solar panels from an EMP blast? Do they have to be in use to sustain damage? I would welcome your response or even one from one of your many in the know subscribers.

Intended use: outage in the power grid (1-2 times per a year). What is the recommended way to top off the EB240 battery? a) plug in the AC power adapter, and leave it plugged in to AC receptacle? How many self-discharge-then-charge cycles a battery cell will undergo over a period of one year? OR b) plug in the AC power adapter, and leave it plugged in to AC receptacle till the EB240 battery is topped off. Then, disconnect the adapter from the AC receptacle. Repeat the sequence say, once a month. Note that I don't have PV panels.

After thorough research got one of these and am now trying to decide on solar panels. I'm clear that the max voc is 68V and the max amperage is 10 amps. One of the things I'm confused by in your testing is that you had all those panels in series and parallel which seems to me would exceed the unit's 10A limit. For example the Renogy 100 Watt panel has an isc of 6.24 amps. Would not two of these in parallel result in total amperage of 12.48A exceeding the unit's 10A limit. As you can tell just starting out and struggling with the basics. Thanks for any light you can shed...

Be wary of third party warranties.... I got one for my mini dishwasher. Just over $200 for the dishwasher. When I needed the warranty only two months later, the warranty company only valued my appliance as $1, no matter how many times I submitted a copy of my invoice. Would not accept my claim to repair the dishwasher. Thankfully I managed to fix the dishwasher myself.

Thanks for your review.... It is basically a 1500 with more capacity and a few little things here and there. I wish for: 1) A more powerful inverter (1500 W) and true higher peak capacities (2000 W). 2) Upgraded HW for a higher/faster charging time, both solar and AC something the Goal Zero (1400, 3000) allows you to do if using their 2 ways concurrently. But hey, nothing is perfect and you have to compromise between price, features. portability/size and capabilities. This is the BEST DEAL so far in that battery size.

QUESTION: Hobotech, how did you not go over the Isc limit of 10A when solar charging? I'm struggling to find flexible panels that will provide a high enough number of watts without going over the 10A limit. BougeRV CIGS flexible 200 watt panels x 2 in series will do, but it's really expensive, upwards of $900+ with discount codes.
