That flounder is 100% a plaice by the way. A very nice plaice. Spots mean nothig too, cant be used for identifying flatties especially when theyre living on a dark surface
Its a plaice mate . They are very dark in there . Can tell by the shape of it though. Used to be some really bigguns in there but people caught them and killed them . Tight lines
How do you access that area of the marina thanks have fished behind the Premier.inn but had a look on Google earth and the area you guys fish seems fence off thanks
The best wat to tell the difference between the two is the flounder has a bigger tail compared to the plaice and yes some flounders do have the orange spots as well
Im a professional hand filleter and that is 100% a plaice and a nice one at that the spots mean nothing on plaice as ive seen them with next to no spots and also dark green spots . When the old boy was running his fingers up and down the middle of its back he would have notived it was smooth both ways a flounder will be very rough when you rub your fingers up the middle of the brown side from the tail to head . The old guy should know better if he worked on the boats 😅
