It would be horrendously depressing. You finish months of work on a building structure to get it looking perfect. You're exhausted and put all your time into this. Then a huge metal foot comes out of the sky and "bye-bye's" the entire block in an instant. And that would be a normal day

I love the first Pacific Rim. The jaegers and kaijus had momentum and majesty because they looked believable as huge monstrosities... This new one is a disappointment because it looked like transformers fighting. Too fast and not believable.

You’re right. I mostly agree. Most actions the Jaeger’s perform felt too humanized. However, it does make the fight scenes more interesting because there is more variety in tactics, instead of using your weapon to beat your opponent to a pulp, and dying if that weapon gets destroyed.

I have to correct your "too fast" The correct term is lack of weight, you didn't feel the weight in their steps or hits, but the speed of the fights shouldn't be considered an issue, because if you pay attention you'll notice that the majority of the jaegers in this movie except Saber Athena actually move a bit slower then Striker Eureka from the first film

Obsidian fury could be an interesting character in the franchise. Like almost everything it does in the movie is anonymous like why is it doing that? Who built it? Is there more mecha kaijus like it? Oml all you do is complain about it being a failure and don't even try to acknowledge the good stuff bor have logic about the actions The jeagers act like a megazord since its lighter and cheaper I mean jeagers cost alot the plot was actually discent and the jeagers and logic just failed but there is somethings that if you use logic can cause littery problems i mean yea they could have saved mako by gravity pull but that would pull the building to the helicopter and still kill mako etc

@Will Smith. the cinematography of the first film was done in a way to make the audience feel one with the camera. The camera and shots were positioned in a way where it was plausible for a person to be. Also the low light shots mask much of the cgi’s rough edges making the first movie still hold up after so many years. Action scenes coupled with the cinematography pays homage to the classic kaju films :)

lol yep. Just like how there was likely at least one person in the cars that they grav weaponed up. How many thousands of people die in this video? You would think the government would come up with a defensive strategy that didn't station the robot in the middle of the city, thereby guaranteeing any fight would be in the downtown, destroying skyscrapers.

With one uppercut obsidian just sent gypsy sliding upwards on the building, I mean obsidain is tall but still that physics doesnot seem right, is obsidian mk 7? But again gypsy had grav lift or whatever they used, was it limited why not use it to save Mako, I didnt see the movie just so many questions on that scene

@@mememan1081 The idiots keep coming. Rotors have a specific amount of area they take up. Without bigger blades, you literally can't lift more than 1 atm * area + ma of air (1 atm assuming the rotor pulling perfect vac, ma to factor in momentum change of air). Basically, there are physical limits of how much a helicopter can lift and unless you had rotor blades that were like 10x the length, what you say makes no sense. No amount of engine power can make up for limited rotor size.

If the helicopter just went away. Then gipsy danger didn't have the need to rescue it. And hold back obsidian until reinforcements arrives which was shown that the reinforcements were really close by now. And obsidian dies. They discover the kaiju brain early. And boom. Half of useless time are saved.

@@gamerswarfare1786 that's just not how it works. I was a helicopter mechanic for 5 years. We had 3 rotor blades strike a fuel truck while spinning, all they did was break off. What you're describing simply doesn't happen in the real world.

Why in some scene the robots looks small and then some scene looks big. Like example, in the opening, obsidian fury’s feet when compared to humans are small, but when gipsy avenger catch the helipad, you can see his feet, its bigger than obsidian’s Edit Obsidian fury’s scene : 0:47 Gipsy avenger’s scene : 1:10

This fight was pretty cool however I just noticed that during the shoulder launched missiles by obsidian fury, there were only 12 launch tubes, however there were over 12 missile launches, multiple from the same tube, I thought maybe they reloaded, but judging by the size of the missile there would be no room to store them in his shoulder region, nor reload them in time. While this is a minor detail it contributes a lot to the fight since one of them caused the downing of the helicopter. Pretty bad writing by the cast. (There were atleast 15 launches). I could be wrong but this minor detail is kinda major towards this scene.

Maybe it could reload. Striker Eureka had a total of three missiles it could launch from each tube, although like you pointed out there is way less room in the shoulder

I saw this on a plane and it cut out Finn's dive to save the chopper. It went straight from them throwing the cars to him laying on the ground screaming. I still don't know the reasoning to this day.

I wish they kept the mechanical locks that connected the pilots arms and legs to the jaegers mechanical and motor systems. Without them it makes the pilots move faster then the jaeger is actually capable of, also making them seem very off sync in many scenes this movie compared to the 1st one. Another thing i realised is the lack of shots that show the systems of the jaeger working. Like in the 1st movie how the hydraulics and pistons would move and lock in at scenes like when Striker lifted and tossed Otachi
