I once bought 10 Charizard 1st addition cards at a garage sale a few years ago. I bought the tub of cards half Pokemon and half basketball for 80 bucks. Because I felt guilty for the for the buy and I didn't want karma to get me after, I dropped off 2k in an envelope for the old lady who sold me the cards.
That’s why you go to yards sales man! Great find for $40! You have a HOF rookie of James Lofton, Sandberg, Kobe too! Great 2 sets in that first binder! Bonds and Bo rookies are in there!! Let me know if you have questions too! Great work!!!
Yes she played one period of one pre season exhibition game. Idk if she was actually in the pros as I don't think she ever signed an actual contract. Name was Manon Rheaume.
This is the gift that keeps on giving! I hope this person that collected these doesn't watch this. ( Mom wheres my old box of cards? I sold your cards for $40... ..😢)
That’s a nice haul. 91 fleer basketball box is about $70. I’d put everything back in the crate except that and ask $125. It’s too much work to break down . The 86 the rookies baseball and topps update has nice bonds rookies in there. You could probably make $400-$500 if you spend a ton of time , effort and shipping. Good luck
You did pretty well. The Jordans probably pay for the whole box depending on condition. The 1986 Donruss rookies & Topps Traded sets in the binder have some nice Barry Bonds, Will Clark, Bo Jackson, & Jose Canseco XRCs. The Kobe RC is probably his least valuable RC, but still a great card. Most of the bulk (packs & sets) have little value, but still a lot of fun. Also...you have a James Lofton RC (a HOF WR) & that Ryne Sandberg IS his RC. Very nice find.
The Basketball Cards you said were from 1969 are actually cards from 1974-75 Topps. Look at the last year of the players stats. Back in the 1970's for Basketball they would all say 1969. That was a copy write for the NBA Players Association
That’s crazy!!! That Skybox Z Force Michael Jordan card paid for that purchase and then some for sure! Plus the Kobe rookie too. U hit it big with that purchase my guy. Well done
Take some time and educate yourself on the basketball you got. You got a Fleer unopened wax box that is worth more than you paid for the lot. The junk wax era really shouldn't lump basketball in with baseball and football. There are tons of Hall of Famers in 89-95 basketball products.
Some really good cards in that 86 baseball binder. Barry Bonds and Jose Canseco. That 83 Sandberg RC and thise Jordans are nice finds. Great Buy!!! I would been all over it too
Another thing yes for the most part any sports cards from that era are considered junk wax however there are some good rookies in some of those years and the ryne Sandberg card you have that is in a rookie case is actually a rookie card not a 2nd year card like it would indicate that’s probably a $30 in good shape
That was double fun for the look at what you found, but also the funny lack of knowledge about some of the cards and the players.....you didn't know Michael Irvin or Deion Sanders, both HOF, those were not "old time refractors", they were holograms, and Dave "Cowens" and Franco(not Franciso) Harris fans want to talk to you etc....congrats on the find...ballpark, it looks like around 400-500 dollars of goodies, maybe more if some good grades come back.
The Kobe rookie I’d go over thoroughly make sure it looks good then if you can’t find any flaws I’d get it graded it’s about a $50 card in a grade 9 probably a $200 in a 10
Yes, I was thinking of sending that off to get graded. The corners are very sharp, centering seems ok. There is one small indentation of the surface but other than that it looks great. This collector seemed to take pretty good care of his cards
Nice snipe! Congrats. Hard work pays off, for continuing to go to the garage sales. Quite a few of $40+ cards so you definitely got your moneys worth x 10
You definitely got at least $40 worth of cards there so good job. That being said it was extremely painful to watch how much you didn't know about cards especially having a card collector channel! The 1983 Topps Ryne Sandberg is definitely his rookie card. The basketball are not 69 they were somewhere in the area of mid 1970's? 69 and 70 Topps basketball were tall boys. And quite rare relative to other years. But thanks for showing us what was in the box hopefully you learned a lot by what was in there. Good luck with future videos.
The Sandberg is a rookie and not a second year. Back then Topps might not even put you on a card for a few years, especially if you didn't have many AB's.
It's very rare, but if you keep trying you'll find something eventually. I am more into Magic the Gathering, but about 7 or 8 years ago I bought a box full of cards at the local flea market for $50 and discovered about $2000 worth of MTG cards. I've had a couple smaller finds as well. The thing is you have to actively search for this kind of stuff and be prepared to go home empty handed 99% of the time.
You're may have a Mike Modano rookie card in the pro set series 1 box. Along with Mark Recchi,Jeremy Roenick,Alexander Mogilny, Rod Brind'amour and Adam Graves rookie cards
Hey man nice find, but not everything you come across is a quote-unquote team set. You use the term to liberally but just remember Jesus still loves you.
Nice find! One tip for you as a graphic designer: I think you would get a lot more views if you cleaned up your thumbnail picture. I liked the big emoji. That caught my attention, but the super crowded image as well as the multicolored text over the top made it very hard for me to get any visual as to what your video was (aside from the text). If I were you, I would try highlight either one, or a few cards. Or I'd highlight yourself holding the cards, or something, and then add a clean simpler text over top. Less is more. Less words. Less color variety. Bigger, more readable text to really grab people's attention.... Like I said, the size and clarity of the emoji helped.
Please do some reading as you are giving out incorrect information on a Lot of cards. The Last year stats means that it's the following year's card. You can find old Beketts and SCD Yearly price guides for cheap and do some research. This is a case when book's are better than the Internet.
Piculin Ortiz rookie? This guy might be Puerto Rican. I believed this was a huge mistake. Maybe they are getting divorce or something and she is getting revenge.
Definitely keeping a good chunk, certainly all of the baseball stuff! I may sell some of the other sports just because I prob wouldn’t appreciate them as well as a big basketball/football fan would
