This is what i call a beautiful mistake. Even missing the apex he controlled the bike lika a BOSS The release of the brake and the corner entering while the rear wheel was in air was the cherry on top of the cake, pure art!

you can really see how the faster turning rear wheel pushes the bike even more into the slide, almost into high-side territory.

When you realise he actually downshifted 5 times at the same time 😱
@GravityRoller
@GravityRoller 2 года назад
YES !##! Numerous downshifts with the rear wheel in the air. I wonder the throttle control effect on rear wheel gyro (accelerating the rear wheel, when rear wheel is off the ground, would effectively force the front down potentially allowing additional front braking effect).
@snifflytooth
@snifflytooth 2 года назад
Quite the opposite. In the air on a dirt bike, front wheel comes up you apply the rear brake to get the front down (or in this case get the front to dig in more) If your front wheel drops, give it a Rev to get the rear wheel spinning more, lifting the front. You mostly don’t want to land nose first.
@thatguyinthatband
@thatguyinthatband 2 года назад
@@snifflytooth you're actually reinforcing gravity's point. Revs would lower the back end, allowing more braking which raises the back end. Not sure if the effect is significant on the ground in comparison to the air, but I think you guys are saying the same effect.
@pwilsonkelly
@pwilsonkelly 2 года назад
I just checked that!! Stoppie with one foot dangling, one foot downshifting and rotating into the corner on the front wheel! BOSS!

@shinuza
@shinuza 2 года назад

@Yosser70
@Yosser70 10 месяцев назад
a high side is when a spinning rear wheel suddenly finds grip and violently stands the bike up, which obviously isn’t going to happen here, because the stickiest tyre in the world ain’t going to grip anything when it’s in the air 😉

@@petesmitt Pete... as a matter of fact, YEAH, I've not only heard of em, I also have seven sets. Every one firmly attached to separate bikes. What I was referring to was... How you get the bike to turn when only the front tire is on the tarmac. But guys like you always come up with Smart Alec remarks.
@MegaKei1
@MegaKei1 2 года назад
High level athletes like them have VERY strong cores and finely tuned balance, that's what makes these guys do that. If your body is any weaker than that you would have great difficulty in keeping the bike in shape and your brain won't be able to control your body the way you want it to. Try doing a trackstand on your bicycle or dirt bike and you'll see how important it is to have a strong core and good balance. The rolling stoppies will come naturally when you get those two down pat.

@GravityRoller
@GravityRoller 2 года назад
@@Duschbag Unlike the reply you got from Smart Alec ..., I think the question would be more like - Yes/No is counter-steer used when the back wheel is not in contact with the pavement (assuming a level of understanding related to counter-steer effect on a bike). Would bike is steered into the corner with counter-steer or direct-steer (when only front wheel in contact with pavement)? This is what makes the video display of skill that MUCH MORE IMPRESSIVE.

He holds the bike with his legs and uses his hips to prevent the rear wheel from leaving the corner. Meanwhile, it controls the overturning of the engine with the brake. This time he just controls the front wheel and turns the corner. This technique is something that develops with ambition.
