On June 1st, Douyin blogger Sun Zhaoyue posted a video titled "Depression in Shenzhen and Shanghai". In the video, he talked about two incidents. First, he had a meal with an old colleague at Hong Kong Plaza on Huaihai Road, Shanghai. To his surprise, the usually bustling intersection was devoid of people. The second incident occurred during a business trip to Shenzhen. He and his colleague took a Didi taxi to Futian District for a meal. The driver commented, "Shenzhen is finished. Look at this place in Futian where you're going for a meal. It used to be bright and bustling from 11 pm to 1 am, with many people out and about. Do you know that now by 10 pm, there's hardly anyone around?" As Sun and his colleague wondered, "When will this end?", he felt that it was just the beginning.

Age discrimination in China is worse than reported. If you are looking for a job in the tech sector in China you are considered getting old in your mid 30s. Securing for a job at 40, or even in your late 30s, is extremely difficult. At 45 you have close to zero chance.

The video is so sad about the topic of aging in a China for sure. To really deep dive into China’s homelessness, poverty, shrinking population, debt, unpaid taxes, unemployment, and unaffordable housing problems. The CCP is really at fault for not seeing how people in their 30s, 40s and beyond are forced out of the economy. Aging discrimination will surely be one of the root causes to contributing to China’s downfall. I also want to think China’s military personnel forced out of the military do to age discrimination means they won’t find work in civilian life so easily will also suffer. China really needs to rethink things over of age discrimination is so widespread is leading the way to its social instability and poor economic outlook with its future.

The Lord Jesus Christ became the Savior of sinners (all humans) by coming down from Heaven & dying on the 🪵 wooden cross for our sins. God raised Him from the dead, and Jesus is now a living Savior with God in heaven. But don't lose hope. Anyone can be saved from their sins and from going to hell in two easy, peasy steps: 1. Realize that you are a sinner who CAN'T SAVE YOURSELF from going to the lake of fire (forever) 🔥 based on your good deeds, your own philosophy, and other religions. 2. Realize that you need to believe in your heart ❤️ that ONLY Jesus Christ died for your sins. If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart ❤️ that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart ❤️ man believe unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Congratulations! 🎊 👏 After this life, you're on your way to heaven forever! ⬆️💯🥳

@@WarH It's China, Corruption is the Economy. Same problem the Soviet Union had. It's a symptom of Socialist regimes and their top down nature. When bureaucracy is the only means of getting anything done, it 'requires' under the table bribery, to cut through all the red tape and bureaucratic nonsense. As a result it breeds an environment of corruption in almost every aspect of society. I mean there is a reason the Former Soviet Union got taken over by Organized Crime after the fall of the Communist Government. Who do you think had all the wealth? Had all the power? Had all the resources to do that in such a tight fisted system? Those who were outside the System, the Criminals. The Black Marketers. Those who could get people whatever they needed in a system which everything was rationed by the State. When that system fell, they took over, they had the money, the man power, the strength to take control and they did, and the 1990s became known as a time which the Russian Mafia ruled the former Soviet Union. To some extent they still do as the Wagner PMC leader is a former Mafioso, who knows who else under Putin's rule are former Mafia men despite claiming he crushed the mafia. Same issue persist in China. For generations she was a tight fisted regime. Still is to some extent. To get anything done, and I mean REALLY done requires corruption. Which is why I said Corruption is the Economy. Even if the Corruption hurts the people the Regime claims to support as it sucks those resources away from where they were meant to go, but if that corruption didn't exist those resources likely wouldn't of made it there at all as no one would of had incentive to do so. People think Capitalism goes away in a Socialist regime, but it doesn't. It just takes a different form. While law abiding citizens suffer.

It's a very different feeling in China. We westerners like to say China is always doing bad cuz of their government but actually in my experience Chinese people are very comfortable. Even many in straight poverty if the luxury of family and community. Being poor and alone is really a western thing and it's completely different then the poverty in China. I've been poor and had money in both China and America. It's not the same. U can find work in a day ,get paid in a day ,find a home in a day and eat a hot meal for a few dollars...... in China even if u see u have no money and decide to to delivery for like 6 or 9 yuan a delivery. U can start immediately and even if u only get one delivery, you can still buy a real hot meal of beef noodles or stir fried rice for 8 yuan . . Jobs decide if they want to hire in like 2 or 3 days . Genuinely everything moves fast . 2 weeks to find a job os actually a long time . .and I'm saying this as someone who was In China during the pandemic .if u are in complete poverty in China, u can literally barley eat each day .. yea because of the convenience and closeness and speed of China, Chinese people are very spoiled. In their mind, they think everything should be sudden and for them . They don't really like uncomfortable stuff . They don't handle stress very well. U have no idea how easy it is in China to get up and travel half way across the nations amd make a few dollars to eat. I've literally did it before. Because of that I've lived in like 10 different cities already. Chinese are pretty humble but many of them make really dumb choices as if they are privileged or can't think very far. Yea I think they can be a bit impulsive. But after having met so many of them and dozens of friends, it's my opinion. I have more Chinese friends than American. I only have one American friend in China currently 😄. It's not to be taken offensively. I absolutely love Chinese. This has all the signs of a banking crisis. So many bad loans that remain on the bank books. This will take many years to fix if banks refuse to write down the loan values. It might be politically impossible to allow banks to admit this, and the economy will suffer for a long time as a result.

@beneck3060
@beneck3060 Год назад
@@Matthew_Loutner while this is in theory correct, the practice looks vastly different. Just think of 2008 or any of the more recent bank failures like SVB. Bad loans have to be written off at some point to ensure that a fair (lol) financial picture can be created in annual reports. If you know that the money can never be retrieved, the books shouldn't say "oh, we are doing well, those x billion must be coming any day now.. "
@Matthew_Loutner
@Matthew_Loutner Год назад
@@beneck3060 SVB did not have any bad loans. 2008 they were subprime loans given to mortgagers who had low credit ratings but were paying their loans. When the housing market crashed (2007) some people became unable to pay their mortgages. A bad loan is not written off until every possible avenue to collect on the loan has been exhausted and the house is sold at auction. Then only the uncollectable part of the loan is written off. These are low amounts and banks employ interest rate management and risk management techniques to keep them at a minimum. However none of this is what OP is talking about. My comment addresses the comment above it and that comment addresses the video. China does not have YEARS of experience in risk management and they have gotten themselves over their head in debt. The banks in question have MULTIPLE MILLIONS of GOOD LOANS and the person is saying that it is too much for the Chinese people, businesses, and government entities to pay. So the person is saying that the bank should just eat all of those good loans. I have heard this from other Chinese commenters also. I was explaining to the Chinese person that a bank cannot possibly just write off millions in good loans.

I can explain you the problem. You see. The biggest problem is that you tied your economy to that of the US. The US prints money from a printer, and you take that money and give them your products. But your products costed land, capital and labor. For the US printing US dollars costs them nothing. So the US by abusing their position in the global economy as the currency of reserve, forces you to hold US treasuries and US company stocks. As a result, you invest in your local companies to meet the demand of the US. But that demand is not real. Is never sustainable, and you only get a lot of paper. A currency that devaluates and treasuries that pay less than inflation. But for you is not only incredible costly to meet the demand (you need factories, labor, infrastructure, investment, etc). But now you have an economic system built to meet the artificial demand of the US. So if the US enters a crisis, you automatically follow. What you should do is BAN the us dollar. And focus on entering bilateral relationships between countries that can trade with you for stuff you need. Brazil, argentina, etc. And let your population consume their own creation. Stop giving everything to americans for free. It's ridiculous. Let them produce their own stuff.

@Matthew_Loutner
@Matthew_Loutner Год назад
Cost of labor is now higher than surrounding countries. The pandemic made corporations realize that they were in a supply chain risk situation. They lost billions during the covid shutdowns. CCP has been verbally bullying others. For example canceling American sports on Chinese television because a team member said, "Free Hong Kong." United States has had trade tariffs on China since 2018 over unfair trade practices. Reducing orders from America. There a general slowdown on all orders worldwide. Chinese are way overextended on credit. And there is a MAJOR real estate financing crash. And the provinces are all overextended at the bank. Some banks cannot currently give people their money. China just instituted a national security to law and people can be arrested for espionage for stupid things: Practicing a religion. Supporting freedom and/or democracy. Taking photos at a port. The law is quite vague and about anything the police want it to be is espionage. That is pretty risky for a corporation.

Wait until it get worse. China have deflation, which simple means that nobody is buying anything and nobody needs workers. It's really is weird, what is the Chinese government doing. If we look at other countries like The Weimarer Republic in the early 20th century we had massive unemployment but we also had massive inflation. Bread was worth like 1,000,000 Reichs Mark. In China there is massive unemployment but they have deflation. Shouldn't that mean that China have massive overproduction? Because the exports tank maybe. The West is turning away from China, orders are not made, China exports drop to a historic low. Normally the government would have taken all the moneys in good times and invest in the domestic market, like Japan and South Korea did. China's domestic market should be as huge as the of the USA. But it's nonexistent as shown by the current deflation. Chinese are not buying what they produce. Add to the problems the massive dept and all the black holes in those ghost cities and failed real estate projects.
