Today after little over a year I got CPU-AVX and it's sounds amazing, in other sinths you can easily destroy sound, with Massive X you will always get a musical, warm sound that can easily be something new very ear catching. Every Art is looking for something new NI delivered us that possibility 😉
@@SanjayC Haha... nope you're awesome! but seriously thanks for the effortlessly concise guides. Tried massive X yesterday, damn this synth has a lot of depth to it. And it sounds amazing. A bit too much control but glad that it's there.
Awww love the bird sounds!!!! Lol but really, Love the music you make! And the video is to the point and you’re helping out an artist! You are just 🔥 🙌🏾💫😘 !!!!!
I've always been fascinated and terrified of massive. I'm going to try it in the near future, I'll admire it from a distance for now. It looks and sounds Epic...
Massive and Massive X are both on sale and X ist just 25 bucks more. Thinking about getting the old Massive because it's still really popular and I already have many presets for it but X is 'the synth for the next 10 years'. What do you think would make more sense?
Sanjay, WE NEED your advice!!! I am 100% sure that you have seen the new product from Roli. Have you thought about making a video talking about it? What's your opinion? Is it worth it? And the most important thing that i think the most of us 'argue' about: SEABOARD BLOCK OR LUMI???!!! I myself want to buy one of these but looking at the big picture i feel like i would be better off with a seaboard and/or a normal keyboard. Please help! (Sorry for my pretty bad english... i hope you can understand what i am saying...)
Hi Eugen! I haven’t tried it yet so I want to save my comments for then. It looks promising for beginners. I’m not sure about what it will offer for experienced keyboardists.
Hi Howard. I like both - they are different. I think its worth learning Massive X because they will continue to develop and improve it - more than the OG
"Massive X" excludes importing wavetables and the ADSR graphics are not actual GUI controls. "Arturia Pigments" does both along with very flexible routing and real-time visuals of basically everything that changes with time, Waves, LFO's, filters, etc. How about a comparison video?
It sounds great, but then so do 1,000 other Soft synth's. I have the Komplete Collection but it doesn't create sounds I can't create elsewhere. Though, in all fairness it is new and in time will expand. It's absolutely a great synth, i'm not saying it isn't - but you'll either love its sound or have mastered other synths where you can create sounds very similar already. Just my thoughts though and we ALL look for different things in our instruments.
@@SanjayC Oh I totally agree, different synths have different charms but I have so many synths now I had to choose ones that I was inspired by and learn to master them. Other than the Roland Cloud synths, a few others I have that I like are Synthmaster (Very versatile), Serum (Great synth), Pigmentsa, I have Komplete, Arturia V Collection 6, Korg Collection - you get the idea and at some point you have to stop collecting and really start using what you have. In a year or so might buy a few new ones, but in the meantime I'm learning in-depth programming of several and if you learn that you can pretty much make any sound you want anyway :)
Love that beat! I tend to go between Massive and Europa a lot lately(when I’m not using Simpler to sample something). When I’m working on the iPad I constantly find myself going to the old classic Sunrizer! Really enjoy the fatness of analog modeling...gonna have to give Massive X a try though! Sounds amazing.
Sanjay C Probably about 4 or 5 years I guess. Admittedly when I got it I was a ‘preset cowboy’ who knew nothing about synths and programming them so I’ve only really gotten into programming synths in the last 2 years when I started realizing where I needed to go with music. Just wanna say thanks for your work again - I, for one, really appreciate how you don’t get into long winded preset run throughs and technical discussions🙈
Hi Sanjay, Thank you for the teaser :) You have mentioned Valhalla Reverb, which one do you use? They have many :) Could you please review their plugins?
I love massive x. But I feel like serums filter options are way better. Having the dual filter modes is the most useful feature imo. I hope massive x gets some utility/insert filters that have high notch or low pass notch plus the peak filter combos I only hope for it to be an insert so we can use that awesome comb filter or double notch. Ideally an entire second filter module of the same filters is the best option. They really should have used the same concept as the first as far as architecture goes. Everything else is virtually the same. Idk why they would sacrifice a second filter unit?
You have dual filters in the Parallel SVF and Serial SVF and the Utility filters, as well as the Monark double notch. I would really like another filter module that isn't a utility filter. It would really open up the possibilities, but the existing features are great as it is.
Got this today as part of komplete ultimate but, frankly, I was massively disappointed. I have a 2015 MacBook Pro and, feeding this through Logic, it just crackles and breaks up on most of the presets. Same thing happens with reaktor - seems like developers these days don’t care about creating efficient compact code but just assume people will buy a new more powerful computer every year. I really don’t see myself doing anything with this.
Meh... I can see how it might be useful for knocking out certain styles of music quickly but I can find very few presets which interest me. To me much of it sounds buzzy and harsh. But we all have different tastes. Generally I'd say a recommendation would depend very much on your style of music. Maybe for happycore remixes of Icelandic death metal classics...
Fantastic stuff! Thank you again for a quick and reliable review :) Can it be possible for you to share the midi data? I would truly appreciate it (its for educational purposes) :) Cheers
Is everyone aware of the Orange Tree Samples GROUP BUY on now? It's 50% Off and will increase to 60% Off (with a few more people). All instruments. Some REALLY GREAT guitars, imo. Check it out.
Sanjay C well 24fps is more of a “movie” feel, and 30fps/60fps is more for sports or news. So when you do all of the b-roll shots of your equipment it’ll feel more cinematic
Ok I haven't watched the video yet...but the title says "HONEST OPINION" Let's see if that's true! *UPDATE* You said that given that Massive X is so new maybe NI has plans to release those features in a later update? So are you saying that the undisputed synth of a few years ago decided on purpose to release a modern synth on the hills of Phase Plant and SERUM, a device that shows zero UI modulation feedback, the filter frequency knob doesn't even tell you the freq range...and you think this was done by Native Instrument to show that they are pushing the envelope in graphic design? And by suggesting that they would "Probably" (because we don't know what's in there mind) add those features later....is that like game as a service? is this what company's like EA and Bethesda offer? we will send you something incomplete but we will add "Maybe" those features later? ...this is a Massive disappointment. Massive X sound fantastic but the UI's lack feature is the worst in a synth from a major developer in years. People are suffering from Anthem syndrome, where no one wants to admit the obvious , this thing is incomplete...the sound engine is pure gold...but the UI isn't finished. One day we will get the real scoop about this.
The UI is definitely incomplete. The envelope graphics are static and misleading. There's no animation to show modulation. And there are quite a few bugs too. They obviously rushed to meet the June 27th deadline (not wanting to delay it again). The good news is it sounds really good. I'm glad they got the synth engine right first. It's too bad they didn't have time to polish the UI or even write a manual. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long.
good sound without a doubt. But many features not continued! and even worse.. you can not load any of the presets of original Massive. This is unacceptable! They should give this another Name. as You can not continue you work and load older Presets. What were they thinking! Please: Whenever you release a X or Pro MAKE SHURE YOU CONTINUE AAALLLL FEATUREEESS! All of them. You need to know for your businnes that users rely on certain features. You can not simply discontinue.. and expect us to be happy.. Make shure you can load older presets. It seems to me they dont know their clients. And have lost a huge oportunity to lead as one of the world best synths. Not goin to buy untill things are continued, compatible. Thanks
hi sanjay i know your guides and reviews of softwares are really helpful for a lot of people (inclouding myself) but I'd really like more independant reviews of physical products if possible.Because you're software videos are really kind of useless and uninteresting if your not looking to use that software for any reason but your reviews of products could teach people about new ways to make music and i know you could say the same about softwares but i think the reviews of physical products are more interesting and useful and I hope you take this comment/wish to heart thank you! p.s im really sorry you had to read through this ;)
