I feel like these guys are a lot cooler and have way more balls than the useless celebrities and athletes we seem to adorn and the job these guys do actually serves a real purpose other than keeping us amused.
Todo : prolijidad, sincronización, eficiencia, coraje, conjugado en un grupo de hombres impecables entre piloto y operarios. La construcción de la estructura, muy bien terminada, así como los mosquetones segurisimos. ¡ Felicitaciones !
Ive always wanted to try something like this. I “think” that I could do it. I am respectful of heights, but I also really enjoy heights. Im not a daredevil by any means....very calculated and responsible actually....but Ive been rappelling, stood on high “dangerous” spaces. Ive been around construction and walked at height, but not steel worker skyscraper levels. I would be interested in trying this sometime though.
You got that exactly right, any amount they offered would be totally irrelevant, because the answer is always going to be NO!! Because I’m sure the cause of death in my case wouldn’t be the fall, but the heart attack from just the shear terror of being up that high!!
did you see how, on the first section they set, that the first guy gently tweaked the section with his finger??...testiong or STATIC ELECTRICITY...like when you slide across a nylon car seat in the winter...times 10000...if you fly a section far enough, which these guys don't, the static electricity will build up enough to knock you off the tower...if you're not tied off...probably very little build up in the short distance they're flying...
Great work. However in my view, too hasty. I did not see double checking, and safety line removed from torque wrench. Did they forget to torque down one bolt. ?
I also noticed the bolt they forgot to torque and came to the comments immediately to see if anyone else noticed and commented on it..the bolt is to the right of the guy wearing the camera the one closest too him..as soon as they reach the white piece of tower..unbelievable..they should double check and probly even double nut to prevent this from happening and to make sure it wont ever come loose
@@GavCritchley They probably were aware, it's just slower to hook it up to the tower, torque the bolt, unhook, do the other side. notice they did use it to clip it to their tool bag when they are done a section.
I could invent a system -- cables, pulleys and counter-weights -- so that an electrical motor on the ground could hoist the worker to the top of the tower. But it's not a device that could be mass-produced for Wal-Mart.
+Mathias -- Close, but not quite. Imagine a FLAG hauled to the top of the flagpole by a SOLDIER pulling on a ROPE at the bottom of the flagpole. Imagine also that the FLAG = BULB changing guy. Then imagine the SOLDIER = ELECTRIC-DRIVEN PULLEY. Finally, imagine that the ROPE = STEEL CABLE. Get the picture, amigo?
+KSparx -- No, the elevator has been invented already -- and basically, it has only ONE pulley. I envision TWO pulleys, one on top -- and the other at the base of the tower, and co-located with the electrical motor. And the worker would just attach himself to the cable, which would be raised and lowered as necessary. Perhaps it would be better if I showed you a schematic diagram, but RU-vid is not equipped to provide this feature.
Interesting how they are using a 2 positioning lanyard system to tie off. Instead of y lanyard for safety an single position. Sound like they are in eastern Europe
Hello, I wanted to kindly remind you that I sent you a message regarding your video. Please see my previous message. We would be happy to know if you have any special requirements for uploading your video that we could fulfill. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
If they slip, they are still attached with the harnesses but there's a risk they'll whack their heads on the structure. That and the risk of a bolt or wrench falling from above. Hence the helmets.
They are dangerous!! Adding sections before torquing bolts on lower sections?!!? Do they have laws in this country or just great life insurance for their families?
There’s a guy on the ground telling the crew which section to hook to the helicopter orange then white no wait orange uh I mean white yeah white then orange …
@@Herecomesthethruth although if you’ve never built one or something similar you’d have no way of knowing that. I myself have been a mod guy for years. Done some l&a but mostly stacking and decommissioning
@@Herecomesthethruth yep. Last thing you do on the tower. Each guy takes a leg and you go down tighten all leg bolts and everyone takes a face. You hardly notice the swaying after awhile lol
