As a fellow mastemon player, I enjoy this build you're going with. I find calling a bit crushed because the yellow base and mirei im running 2 because she tends to brick due to her high play cost. but i was thinking of changing my 4 and 5 lineup, so you gave me some food for thought. best of luck in Nats!
Thanks for the luck!! I also agree - Calling from Darkness was definitely a hard choice to decide to keep in or replace with another flamehell or devimon. I decided to keep it in mainly because it is really my only way to bring back purple pieces since the deck is so vaccine controlled now. It also works great with Ophanimon since I can swing, force delete it, bring back pieces to my hand and then play out a level 4 like Devimon for Rush or Gatomon for searching or I can use Angemon BT-14 for its non deleting effect and then force delete it to get it into my security.
The art (regular and Alt arts) are SO COOL and they use so many different artists too!! You can always play casually! We play online all the time too. There's the simulator (digi-tcg.online - its called project drasil). It's a great alternative to buying cards!!! I suggest playing in a VC with friends though when you use it since it doesn't auto do effects/explain it - so typing can be a pain in the arse Let me know if you start playing!
@@kiriocity will do! I'll look into it! I hear there's a video game coming out related to the card game, maybe that is to help push the game and it will help me learn! I have been on a Digimon kick lately so I'm just waiting on news at this point 😅
@@kiriocity i don't think so 🤔 I only just recently got back into digimon so I am a bit behind of news, but apparently there's some event in March that may have more news! Though who knows, I may not wait that long and see if I cant get into the game before then!
I used to main Mastemon and have always adored the deck - I haven't played since BT-12 so it is nice to see people still play it in the modern state! I kept getting bodied but I was a bad Deck builder 😅😅 best of luck with Nationals!!
Ayy another Mastemon player (even if you don't play the deck now)! Mastemon was in some SUPER rough Dark Ages pre BT-11, even BT-12/13 formats were still so hard for Mastemon since she builds her pieces so slow compared to other decks. BT-14's vaccine support definitely has made that much better, but the deck still needs consistency support for both Yellow AND Purple. I find I am able to hold my own much longer now thanks to BT-14!

Looks like a VERY solid mastemon deck to me, i myself play mastemon but mine is still purple based but uses cards like the bt4 lucemon to recover security alongside my falldown mode ophanimon, seeing the angewomon x made me smile because i run 1 copy and i haven't seen it in other deck profiles
Thank you! Oh BT4 Lucemon is a BLAST to play with too. The angewomon x is an awesome addition to my deck I find. Compared to the ST-10 one, I find it gives me just a bit more benefit and consistency versus the in a pinch hard play for 6. Sec+1 inheritance is nice from the bt-10, but the angemon x lets me recover and give -1 to my opponent... And we love an extra free evo to get us that DNA ;)

@@StrikerBoom36 ooo I like that, its the more aggressive version to play Mastemon! Those are definitely my Tech choices when I'm not sure what format is looking like.
also do you think it would be wise for me to wait until infernal ascensim to get the big cards like mirei and some of the other key bits or try get them from BT11, the new ones seem to do more or less the same minus the steep cost. aghhhh im in two minds

My mat was actually purchased second hand - BUT it is rightfully from UsagiDraws - usagidraws.com/products/mastemon-light-darkness-tcg-playmat 2. It is definitely a tricky situation for the Mastemon items. I haven't been following the market right now but I would say pick up what you can that is in your budget before Junes EX6 comes out. Chances are, all the Maste items will go up by a big amount (thanks to waifu tax haha). I myself am trying to pick up some extra pieces in case I need to play them. Regular arts stay pretty steady in price, but the Alt Arts are a different story!

my brother and I got into the Digimon TCG recently and he tried building a Mastemon deck. unfortunately, he's running the purple half and the new Mirie cards are quite pricey not to mention all the yellow BT-14 cards... (I built a D-Brigade Deck).
Mastemon is really one of the more pricey decks - especially if you plan to alt art it like I am Even the regular arts can be costly! Have you seen any of the new EX6 and BT16 support that's coming? It's going to be FANTASTIC and should help curve some of the older cards down in price (fingers crossed!)
For my build I completely took out the mirei and the devimon and angemon package. It didn't do too much and for mirei there are better ways to go into Mastemon then the mirei path. especially for less memory.
Mirei is definitely an expensive card, the only way to really get it out is early game or via the GeoGrey. I've toyed with more T.K's, Kari, and Meiko as well. I find Kari might do well in this format too since you are going between security so frequently. I do agree with the Angemon/Devi package too - It's useful for lethal, but mid game its a bit more of a last resort combo. I like it just to secure my angel/vaccine grab from some of the other decks effects.
Your build is actually very very similar to mine! (I am running a few more level 3s and 2 Venus instead of Ophani). My two big questions are, with respect to eggs, do you value the jamming over the consistency we get with the draw and how often do you find the angewomon x anti triggers? I find early game I always want to see a draw egg to get my pieces in order to not get outsped by something like red hybrid or digi police. Do you not have that issue most of the time?
Sibling decks?! Lets go! Question 1 - I play with a bit more of a aggressive playstyle so I do appreciate the Kyaro over Toko in this moment. With that the Kyaromon help's keep my hand on the lower end to better counter MirageGao and the memory effects it gets from my hand. I have been fairly consistent with the Angemon X triggers, but mainly because I either draw into it, or pull it out with Angemon from security. It also is nice to have as a plan B for when you have no choice but to digivolve directly into it - it at least gives you some digivolve reward compared to the ST-10 which is on play. Mastemon still plays fairly slow compared to those types of decks but the Sec con helps For red Hybrid/digipolice. I find that the faster I can get to mastemon and recover security the faster I can slow them down. So sometimes I am left with hard playing 1 Gatomon, while hiding Patamon in the back, to build for a second round in case the Gato is removed. Ruin Mode also makes Hybrid harder to work around since many of the level 4 hybrid digis are 5k or lower, which means them less likely to hybrid without it getting deleted! hope this helps!!
