Finding a job can be really hard these days. You keep applying for positions, but often, you get turned down. The software industry has become very complicated, with lots of people applying for the same jobs. Some people send out 50 to 60 job applications every day, and some have even sent out as many as 700 applications in total. This constant rejection can be tough on people and make them feel discouraged.

Pro tip: if the hiring company does that, run away. It's just a way for HR to check whether or not you'll be happy to be a humble, compliant wageslave. How inclined you are to put the company before your life, health, family, happiness. How willing you are to accept BS that's not even in your contract for the interest of the company. Just run. Or nail the interview and be a slave...

Many many many people work for these companies for a few years, and know what they need to do next, then walk away with a ton of money and much better career options. This nonsense about “never work for them” is childish advice, and especially bad advice for entry level or people with families to support caught in a lay off.

Thank you for this video! I wonder what would you suggest in case I'm switching my career from running small business and operations to IT? I don't have any relevant stories to demonstrate how I applied my tech knowledge and skills to solve various tech-related problems. I've never been an SWE in my life but I hired multiple developers for my small business and managed them. So I'm a bit skeptical that my HR people won't be excited about my non-tech experience. Thanks.

If you get the question "What is your weakness/strength?" just ask them in return "What's the reference point?". This is such a stupid question, weaknesses or strengths are so relative and broad. Don't afraid to challenge them on their own ground. They will often out of their element and start acting hostile.

This isn't a criticism of you but of interview questions. So many of these seem like the same question with different wording. Describe a time you had to innovate to solve a problem. Describe a time you used problem solving skills. Describe a time you took a creative approach to solve a problem. If someone asked all three questions in an interview I'd be thinking, "How many times do you want me to describe scenarios where I had to think through a problem without an obvious solution?"

'If you have wrong mindset, no one wants to work with not nice person', sorry i do not get, what is the connection between wrong mindset and being not a nice person? 'Wrong' mindset is just a 'wrong' mindset, it also can be invented by 'wrong' people, you know... Also this construction 'if you', i believe it is more respectful to change it to 'if someone/one', otherwise it sounds like an obvious blame. It is very complicated and sensitive topic, this talk probably could be given by HR manager w 10 years of experience and psychology background, otherwise it is just someone's (in this particular case it is your personal ) experience.

All 50 questions are on-point, but so hilariously cliched. They unnecessarily make work more complicated than it actually is. To simplify, there has to be a technical lead of each project. The lead is responsible for the decisions, delegating work, lessons learned, and outcome. Trouble arises mostly when there is no lead who properly takes responsibility.
