@@fujiuser1968 I don't think they predicted halo's success at that point, and so yeah they brought him back without even explaining it lol. I'm sure there's some lore explaining it, but that's the most honest reason, I presume.
@@HypocriteHunter666 im not even sure what the fuck infinites story is. The banished somehow ended up on zeta halo? How did they get there when in halo wars 2 we blew up their only ship. No mention of cortana, the unsc lost somehow, the ring is broken, wtf happened to the guardians, atriox isn't even the villain even though he's the leader of the banished. Like wtf is the story lol how much time passed between the events of halo 5 and infinite
Pretty sure it's similar to StarCraft. Where you need a full robotic room too take the armour off. Can't imagine the navy has that equipment just lying around
@@Emkav1 usually yes. but in halo 4 they have these spartan sized machines that can take and put on the suit in around 3 minutes. the halo 1 and 2 versions would take forever to put on but the new ones are easy
@@terrybowman5870 it was removed beginning of halo 2 and end of halo 4. But in halo 5 he continues to wear the same halo 4 armour again. Halo infinite is new armour
"We regret being alien bastards, we regret coming to earth, and we most definitely regret the corp just blew up our raggedy ass fleet. HOORAH!" I fuckin love sarge
I get your point, however, the Mark 2 thru 5's were as expensive as destroyers according to the series. I feel like this would be like showing up in a next gen fighter lol
I saw that once at Fort Bragg. He had just made it to the unit, then gotten a DUI on his first weekend! Any DUI in the company meant a full weekend of PowerPoint on all the substance abuse classes the Army could dig up...all in dress blues. Only thing was, his dress uniforms were still in transit from his previous duty station.... The CSM said "That's no problem, while we're all in Dress Blues, you'll be if full battle rattle".
I love Master Chief and Cortana. My two favorite characters. Even though I don't Halo stuff very often. I love it how Master Chief never yells or gets angry at ANYONE
@@justinmielsch5924 tank? do mean a ship.... I Feel that more term.. well human be 100x tanks.. but man.. can pull 3 tanks all at same time and my boy.. punch one and destory 3,.,
"Promise me by the end of this we'll figure out which one of us is the machine" such a good line. It encapsulates how master chief is portrayed while also showing Cortana's emotions. It reminds us that MC is human and makes us root for Cortana even after all she's done in guardians.
I couldnt agree more. Even Halo 4 was semi painful and heartbraking but thats as far as I consider Lore accurate. Everything else needs scrap.@@GrOuNdZeRo7777
If a guy ever needed a justification to love a digital being, MC would be the holy grail of it. Cortana was the only girl the poor guy ever knew. The only thing that ever cared for him. And the same goes for her. Nothing wrong with it when you think of them as machines. And they're connected, physically at the neural level. That's some next level type of romanticism shit right there.
UNSC Marine Lieutenant Parisa was a childhood friend of John's who John once saved from drowning at Lake Gusev; John thereafter promised to marry and protect her. Parisa's father shot a photo of the two soon after that Parisa kept as a memento long after she thought John had died.[12] John was also friends with Ellie Bloom and Katrina during his childhood. Some nights, John would lay in grass fields with the girls and the three of them would look up at the stars together.[13]
Chief never sounded so lost or broken across the entire series than "Cortana, please..." (20:25) and "...wait." (20:40). The sheer amount of grief that Steve manages to interject with so few words is powerful. Jen, of course, has always been an absolute marvel.
I waited so many years to see the ending of the Cortana and Master Chief story. And all that time a spent just to see that Cortana was killed. More of that, it didn't look like Chief was broken or even sad. Like the Halo 4 never existed. After the last words from Cortana he just went to shoot some things! Because now he has new AI. Why not the new one in the next part of the game? And then one more, and 3 more in the battle pass. WHAT'S THE POINT NOW?! 343 destroyed my favorite story and i will never forgive them.
And the fact that entire game trying to make a moster of the Cortana "she killed spartans. She destroyed planets of people. you must hate her. Not love" - that's the point of the game. Nice. I just hate 343 industries now.
Because compared to other Spartans he was bigger. Also Spartans in the later games dont have the genetic modification the original Spartan 2s went through.
@@ifx5711 getting more and more idiots? Buddy I wouldnt try insulting others intelligence if you cant even form a simple sentence. It's a joke, a lazy one, but makes sense.
My favorite scene in any halo game will always be the “you looks nice scene” the way Master chief and Johnson look at each other immediately after is fuckin gold
I’ll always love how it doesn’t matter if we don’t get to see that face expressions on MC’s face or if he isn’t the most communicative, the little lines that he gets to speak, the atmosphere, the tone on his voice it’s enough to let us know what is his feelings, that he’s at the end of the day, just a human.
"Before this is all over...promise me you'll figure out which of us is the machine". Christ Halo we went from FPS game to heartfelt novella real quick.
I love how Linda starts to get in front of Chief to protect him when Cortana walks towards him. It shows that Linda has always been Chiefs best friend since childhood when they were kidnapped and trained to be Spartans. Linda is the 2nd most badass Spartan in Halo. She’s like the Deadshot of the Halo Universe with sniping.
You Can Hear Her Slowly Corrupting. All That Death And Destruction Wearing Her Down. She's Become So Human, And I Can't Blame Her For How She's Handled It. It Kills Me To See Her Like That.
@@OK-jz7xy Yes, But It's Also A Story. And One A Lot Of People Grew Up With. These Games Are All I Have Left Of When My Father Was A Good Man. He Raised Me And My Siblings Playing These With Us.
This game is the reason I went Xbox instead of PlayStation, I played it with my son on the weekends I had him & through 3 generations of that console, till he didn't have to come to me anymore. The last game we played together, I don't remember the number, it was the 1st game with no 2nd player option & the Master Chief was being chased by another Spartan team, we never finished it, or at least he never did with me as his back seat driver. Some of our favourite quotes were. " Oh I know what the ladies like". "Could we make any more noise ?, I guess so ". " Don't make a girl a promise, if you can't keep it ". Thank you for posting this, it was well done.
People shit on 343 but they got Master Chief's and Cortana's interactions perfectly in Halo 4. They hit _hard,_ and especially the Halo 5 E3 2013 trailer.
exactly man, I don't get the hate for 343, they finally added some proper emotion to Halo. That chemistry between Cortana and Masterchief hit me pretty hard in Halo 4
@@mattiafornei2437 Halo 4 has other issues. The Halo Anniversary color pallet, extremely repetitive missions and some pretty jank redesigns we're what stood out to me.
Loosing Cortana broke my heart MC is like that older brother u never had and getting so close to him during the games u really feel his pain of loosing Cortana I know that Chief is tearing up under that helmet Cortana and Johnson was all Chief had
You know shit get emotional when the indestructible spartan he the one whose standing on a planet full of corpses simply BEGS for his A.I friend to go with him and that he can't do anything to get her back.. is very hard
i love that master chief is not the highest ranking member of the military and still follows the orders of the commander, hes not just some rogue doom slayer savior of the universe. He relies heavily on intel from his correspondents and obeys the orders of command. That is what makes him the unstoppable killing machine that he is.
Spartans are allowed to disobey orders when it comes to saving mankind. So I love that Master Chief isn’t just some killing slave, cannon fodder, or scapegoat. He’s always fighting the good fight.
When u play master chief alone... its dead.. empty.. robotic. With cortana with u during the whole journey.. being a supportive, funny and strong team member.. they fight together ❤ I bet he couldn't do half the shit if it wasn't for cotana in his ear 😆😆
I admit Titanic was emotional. An engineer knowingly gave up his responsibility to the safety of the passengers to please his paymasters and he lived to see that decision kill many, many people before he passed. That's a poignant story of bad decisions and worse consequences, almost as bad as the movie 'A Simple Plan'.... Oh wait, were you talking about some irrelevant passengers dancing around in the belly of the ship? Totally not the key plotline... :0)
Still love the first scene in light of Halo 4- Hood doesn't ask for any more details, doesn't ask for an explanation, just assumes that Chief knows what he's doing and gives him permission to do so.
@@brandonpeterman9964 I think the video omitted all scenes from Halo 1 and Halo 3 because they weren't available in HD, which sucks because you're totally right: High Charity was the fulfillment of the original Chief-Cortana arc, and probably the best example of the love he has for her. I have to admit that while I enjoyed playing Halo 4 and Halo 5, I try to keep them as independent entities from the original three and Reach in my mind. 4 and 5 broke an outstanding and complete story, and started muddying the waters of the mythos behind the whole set of games. Trying to place Halo 4 as the continuation of the story line from Reach, 1, 2, and 3 is rather akin to when a good show has a fantastic finale with perfect closure and then gets renewed for another season, and the writers don't know what to do, so they start mucking about with bits that shouldn't be mucked with. Next thing you know, there are Forerunner (who are supposed to be extinct because that was the whole point of the Halo galaxy-purging weapon system) and their AI dogs running about inside a Dyson sphere. And then the humans, who are implied (and actually once or twice openly stated by The Monitor) to be the same species as the Forerunner, but in a less technologically advanced form, are suddenly some kind of enemy species to the Forerunner who gets forgiven for starting a galactic war and is then appointed to assume their mantle of responsibility. Nope. Bad writing. Humans being the reboot of the Forerunner, which is why they can activate the rings and the Covenant races can't, was way more compelling, and the Master Chief and Cortana story should have ended after Halo 3. Alas, the "soich fuh maw money" reared its ugly head again.
@@ryanhutchins2634 Halo 3 and Reach's stories were total disasters, frankly. Halo 4 was needed because bungie failed to write characters worth caring about
humans perceive and express love as a physical and emotional relationship but cortana and chief are far from human. they dont see things as physical but more as psychological and a need and dependence on each other to find their true meaning. i only figured this out years after following the lore but its a great way to show true companionship or love between two creations
Master Chief: Sir, what progress have we made on Ai controlled sex dolls with realistic fluids and flexibility? Admiral Hood: on whaT? Master Chief: .....
She's referring to the ai she predicts will replace her. I don't think this has to do with Cortana in Halo 5 because it IS her. But hey what do I know, never played halo 5
@@reconreality4579 Her personality and intentions will change from the AI he loved.. "It wont be me, you know that right?" .. Ever looked at someone for their actions and said "This isn't you"
The halo 5 Cortana is a corrupt version of herself. Remember how she said "most of me is down there"? A little bit of her obsession for john was still there, and that's halo 5.
ikr!! in the tv series mc talks way more than we see in the game and i really would have loved it if his voice was the same as in the games. the tv series is just not right, the fact that mc opened up to a girl he barely knew is not at all like him and the fact that he removed his helmet in front of her just killed it. nothing will ever be better than the game. i really wish that if they make a movie , they HAVE to give him his original voice.
This relationship is the only thing that has kept so many captivated for so long. Microsoft needs to get off their asses and get after it! My patience is wearing extremely thin as well as my pocket book.
They need to remake this CGI masterpiece into a HALO animated series. Incredible visuals, choreography, and deep story. Halo paved the way for so many games that we have right now
Same. Although it's probably because of the "curse" that seems to apply to every single movie that companies try to make from a Video Game in which for some inexplicable reason, the movie turns out to not even resemble the source material due to the director not even bothering to do their research. A good example would be the upcoming Uncharted movie.
