To be fair, the mech has safety systems designed into it and it was done with a large budget and long development time. The mini hog, although awesome, does not have the safeties or development time to be considered safe in a convention with many people. Plus the fact that the mech takes time to get into and start, the mini hog you can just sit and drive in seconds which is a safety hazard. There are many rules and reasonings behind the decision, and ultimately security made a good choice in the perspective of safety for everyone involved.

Cortana was right. Chief really is the Luckiest spartan of all time lol. Got to do pretty much everything awesome imaginable for free! (Piloting a mech, skydiving, driving a mini warthog, etc.)
