If you have 96 agility you can skip everything and just use the shortcut after entering the cave.

LOCKPICK. If you've accidentally brought only 1 lockpick then you can walk away from the "conversation" with the door anytime without losing your lockpick. So, if you get a fail message don't "Click to continue", just walk away and try again.
