@@yourgermanteacherplease sir, when using ab preposition, why did the next words that followed not take the same form? E.g, nachter and diesem.. why did one end with er and the other with em? Please respond sir. Danke sehr.❤
@@oviemoses5641this is because the gender of the nouns are different. For feminine nouns it ends in “er” in the dative case while for masculine and neuter nouns it ends in ‘em’
I use a variety of resources "mein Deutsch zu verbessern", and even to refresh the French I learned over 50 years ago, but there's something about your style of delivery that makes your approach distinctive and effective. I look forward to your videos on Sunday morning. Bis zum nächsten Mal!
I have to look to your videos for explanation since duolingo doesnt want to tell me why the sentence structure is the way it is or what they mean. For instance when they started throwing ab at the end of the sentence when it wasnt there before in lessons. Thank you for these videos!
"No One is coming to the Meeting today except you" If I were attempting to say this I would come up with something like "Niemand kommt Heute außer dir zum Meeting". This where I get confused - how would I know to start with Außer dir...?
Thanks for the explanation I know the title says "Dative Prepositions", but why at minute 3:42 "diesem fisch" is counted as a dative object, i think that count as accusative object? Could you explain? thank you.
zu is the preposition zum / zur is the combination of the preposition zu + article: zum = zu dem (masculine/neuter) zur = zu der (feminine) it depends on the gender of the noun that follows the preposition.
Thank you so much for making these videos! ❤ Around 7:53 using nach. Would this sentence be correct? : Ich gehe von der arbeit zu hause. Or is this the wrong context? Thank you for teaching us die Deutsche Sprache!
This is very helpful. I had a question. I’ve seen the sentence Ich bin zu Hause, and there is no verb of movement used with zu. Is that an exception to the rule? Thanks.
Hello Luzi, thanks a lot again :). at 3.25, shouldn't we say .. kommt keiner heute.. Because after the the main in position 2, the subject comes right, but you added the time adverb first, why :)? Danke im Voraus für alles
Wenn ich mir deine Videos anschaue, muss ich an meinen Englischlehrer aus New York denken. Ich finde allerdings, dass du noch besser bist. Er war sehr gut, aber aus irgendeinem Grund scheinen Sie besser zu sein.
