In this episode of Master Working with Horses we examines how we motivate the horse to respond to aids or cues - wand how incredibly important it is to be aware of how the horse responds so that the motivation of the horse to respond is maintained.
A horse doesnt come pre-programmed to understand that a leg squeeze means go forward...you have to teach and establish the meaning of each cue or aid you apply to the horse. How well calm, willing and confident the horse is - is determined by how well the horse understands, is confident and comfortable and motivated to respond to your aids or cues...so communication is VERY important.
