I got some makeup brushes from the dollar tree. They look just like the Amazon ones. There are only a few sizes. But they work great and they are a 1 50 here in Canada. 😊 And I love my distress oxide inks. They are so much fun.
I laughed so hard when you dropped the lid on your project. Shows that even the pros can screw up a card - but at least you knew how to fix it as good as new. Enjoyed the video.
Hey Laurel, I've been watching your channel for over a year... Love the honesty on which products work for you and what is not the price... Thank you for sharing your gifts with us!
I loved the tutorial. Yours are always so instructive, and light hearted. Loved that you left the OOPSIE in because we all do it. This way you showed us not to throw the background away but how to fix it. Your bullet journals look impressive. I'll be making a journey over to Amazon to check those out. Thanks.
The Altenew brush is super for some, but with my minor hand issue/bit of arthritis, it’s uncomfortable and not ergonomic. Blending brushes aren’t good either - my hand hand wants to be more open (and yes, I’ve tried them in all the positions, and will use the ones with very tiny brushes occasionally for picky, tiny stencil spaces). So my go to is still Ranger dome foams (adore!) on their old wooden handle. Distress Oxides are my desert island inks and blend like buttah!
Thank u Laurel. I love your soft, kind, GENTLE voice on your videos. When u do teaching videos like this one. u say things in a way that make the viewer feel like they can try it. Thank u 4 leaving the oopies in your videos. They make me feel like I'm not dumb & stupid 4 making a mistake. I just did a card this weekend that I used red ink, but I needed pink ink 4 it. I blended the red ink down 2 pink. That was so fun. I'm addicted 2 it. Have a great, blessed, victorious day.
I went to Big Lots and bought the blending brushes from their makeup department, they were so cheap and work great, you buy them as singles but I pick up a couple as I stop there and have several now.
The brushes from Amazon are great, I use them all the time, such a bargain as they are a lot cheaper. Also love the small round brushes that come stacked together from Amazon
Love your humor Laurel!! I love how real and honest you are!! By the way, I bought one of your bullet journals!! I love your artwork on it, I got the one with all the squares!! ❤
@LaurelBeard I got them in a couple days ago and am so pleased with them. I just might have to get a few more. Can one have too many journals? I think not
Just bought the two rainbow-journals over on Amazon - not like I don‘t have a million notebooks but they are so pretty 🤩 Thank you for your fabulous, fun, inspiring videos! Kind regards from Germany, Nicola
Hi Laurel. I bought the Amazon set of brushes when they were labelled as being for makeup. Although they're a bit big for my makeup bag, I liked them so much that I bought another set for ink blending, thinking that they would be good for that as well. I'm actually rubbish at both, but it's not because of the brushes, it's me. Sad but true.😢
Very helpful and you saved me from wasting money on a bunch of blender tools that I probably wouldn’t use. Question about the blender brushes: Can you use the same set for both types of ink that you use or do you keep two sets of brushes - one for the Distress Oxides and one for the Catherine Pooler inks?
Hi Laurel, that was extremely helpful, where did you get that flower mask from, did you make it yourself with Mylar. Love the backgrounds, I too love the very bright colors. Tfs
